Alright... 6-times champ I will not be this year... My radio station (workplace) played the song during one of the hosts' interludes (my favorite one which is a christmasholic) and my community manager colleague blasted it off while searching a TikTok to do with the hosts as a post-death uppercut... I'm out

Count me in, I’m still standing.
I haven’t heard too many christmas songs yet actually. I hate christmas songs so I tend to survive easily. But we do have a radio in the kitchen.. although it usually plays Radio Rock Norway, you never know if it suddenly change.. same in the car. Always on Radio Rock. Doubt they decide to play this song.
I even survived a trip to the mall today without hearing any songs.

i heard the song on the 22nd at a "friendsgiving feast" basically as soon as i walked in... now i'm looking for new friends.

I somewhat heard the piano sequence to the song while scrolling through Instagram’s reels, but after listening some more, it turned out to be one of those stupid covers with a guy’s voice subbing for Mariah’s. So yeah, not sure if I’m out or still safe. I’ll let you guys decide.
But come to think of it, I’m surprised I made it this far. I mean, I didn’t really take any precautionary measures since joining, and browsing IG reels without even muting your smartphone is kinda like walking in landmined territory with loaded bombers flying overhead.
Edit: …and minutes after writing this post Mariah came blaring through a closed door from my dad who was listening to Spotify in the next room when the ad came on. Better luck next year.

At work re-writing a paper with next week deadline, I decided to focus with my John Adams symphonic playlist when, all of a sudden advertisement started. As soon as I heard "Ciao Italia, it's Mariah Carey, thank you for liste..." I immediately put down my headphones and waited a couple of minutes to be sure I was safe... Spotify should really be adjusting its algorithms though

At approximately 22:32UTC, Mariah Carey caught and compromised me to a permanent end as I was sipping a pint in my local pub. I almost wish I was listening to the pub owner's friend, whose Saturday night performances make Phoebe Buffay sound like Taylor Swift.

I've just been Carey'd by the Santa sleigh that goes about the streets! It's a volunteer group that has santa on a sleigh being towed by a 4x4, and the kids can go out and see him.
I heard it coming, and there was nothing I could do but laugh at the comedy value of how I was yeeted from this years' competition.

A humiliating exit on my last day of work before Christmas holidays by someone blasting music on their personal speaker and sure enough, Mariah was on it. Not even my ear protection could stop it.

Every morning assembly this week has been prompted by AIWFCIY. If I wasn’t already out I would be by now.
As much fun is it to play the game, it’s also as much fun that my little one loves the song, so in future year I’ll let her know the drill and we can have fun trying to avoid the sonf together.
Because it ain’t actually a bad song. There I said it. Pretty much anything on modern radio is junk, at least MC can carry a tune.
