SuperFestive! and the Michael Bublé version were on the pub backing tape last night. The Bieber duet was vocally pretty awful while the laidback Bublé cover was actually okay on first listen.

I was whammed a second time this time by breakfast TV. I ended the stream before the inevitable so I'm still alive in Carey land.

I have almost made it to Christmas this the longest I have made it. Crazy things is my mortal enemy at Christmas time Walmart has not been playing that song when I have been there and go there a lot. Hopefully I can make it to Christmas.

Aaand I'm out, but not by grocery shopping, holiday shopping or the like. No, this year I got Carey'd by a watching a YouTube short showing two adorable-as-heck Corgis sitting on Santa's lap while their owners take pictures of them. Of course the owners decided to use the theme song of the Merry Mariah for the backing track.

I will say, it's probably the funniest and/or cutest way I've been Carey'd that I can remember.

At work re-writing a paper with next week deadline, I decided to focus with my John Adams symphonic playlist when, all of a sudden advertisement started. As soon as I heard "Ciao Italia, it's Mariah Carey, thank you for liste..." I immediately put down my headphones and waited a couple of minutes to be sure I was safe... Spotify should really be adjusting its algorithms though

I suicided! After all the care in avoiding Mariah, sunday evening I wanted to watch Affari tuoi (lit. "your business", Italian version of "Deal or No Deal") with my parents, where every time the player opens a low value box a short clip of music plays, usually frm the big hitters at the previous Sanremo festival...
However, we are in festive mood, so the inevitable happened when 500€ were opened. I had headphones on while playing Europa Universalis 4, but it was impossible not to notice...
Sigh, next year will be my year (on a sidenote, I have not been whammed yet, covers don't count, right?)

Okay after posting how long I made I went to 5 Below to buy a calendar for my daughter before I went to work so I went there when they opened and of course the very 1st song they play is the song that shall not be named. I believe it was an anniversary edition because the end sounded slightly different. No matter I done 😔. So next year no 5 Below in the morning of Christmas week 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Edit: My son wasn't with me so he is still alive. I have leave out no MC dreams through him 🤣

Alright... 6-times champ I will not be this year... My radio station (workplace) played the song during one of the hosts' interludes (my favorite one which is a christmasholic) and my community manager colleague blasted it off while searching a TikTok to do with the hosts as a post-death uppercut... I'm out

Survived 2 trips to the shopping centre and even a dreaded Mariah Carey TV special being advertised repeatedly only to be done on Christmas Day having to go visit family.

Of course my parents have the radio on in the car and of course being a Christmas Day there was 0 chance for survival.

Also got Whammed for good measure.

My dad got Carey'd about 5 mins ago. We're at a family Christmas event, and the Baltimore v. Houston football game is on TV. I went to the next room over to get food, and not even 10 seconds later, Carey played on the TV and my dad calls out "I'm out!".

I live to see another day, at least.

My downfall was Xmas lunch at my sisters.
Someone in their wisdom said just as lunch was being served put on some Christmas music.
I felt like a man on death row just waiting for my turn to be called to the gallows. There was nowhere to run or hide I just had to wait for the inevitable.
The inevitable was the second song.
