So I went back to the mall one last time, and had a scary moment. I heard the intro to the song, and I thought all had been for nought, but a woman started singing and I did a little fist pump.
You were Whammed!, if you hear any part of the song at all, you're out.CarbonoxOMFG! I came extremely close to being Whammed! just less than a minute ago...
Basically, it suddenly came in the radio. There was no announcer around so it just suddenly started, but even though I haven't heard the song in a year, I just recognized the intro and knew what to do. Now I'm listening to Cutting Crew... the real 80's music![]()
Well, I'm not sure how it goes... the OP says "If you hear the intro, then you're in a sticky situation. Continue to hear it and it might be a cover, or your worst nightmare (i.e. Wham!)" which sort of hints that if I hear the intro, I would still be on safe ground but would need to either shut it off immediately or take the risk and see if it's a cover after all.
No. It says stick around no matter what to see if it's the original. Therefor, you don't end up running away thinking you've been Whammed! when it was just a cover, or vice versa. The ultimate goal is to get to 2012 without hearing the song at all, you heard it, you're out!CarbonoxWell, I'm not sure how it goes... the OP says "If you hear the intro, then you're in a sticky situation. But he's saying how to distinguish between a cover song and the original song without risking being Whammed!
My whole point has been missed. If you hear ANY part of the song AT ALL, you lose. There's no need to try to escape if you've already lost. The only way to stay safe is to not hear it.elitedriver123But he's saying how to distinguish between a cover song and the original song without risking being Whammed!

You don't. If you hear it, you hear it. If it's a cover you're good. If not then you lost.
If you don't know for sure stick around like the OP says to make sure you're not Whammed! And no, only the original song will Wham! you, unless you're playing the Hardcore way.elitedriver123@ Both Quotes
Well, what I meant is if a song is a cover, but you don't know for sure. But the song can also be the original one. But either way, you're Whammed!, right?
