Are there any updates as to when we'll be moving to new servers that support GTP12?
The transition to new server hardware will be completed within the next few hours. The site will be closed for roughly an hour during the final step of the process. To reiterate, this change will have no impact on the appearance or functionality of the site.

What was the matinence for? I didnt notice any changes?
It was infrastructure maintenance; it did not introduce any changes to the site.

I bet he's at 99.99%. If it's going like a JRE install however, that last .01% will take forever.

Thanks for the hard work Jordan. I'm sure it is frustrating for you but will be worth it in the end.

Thanks, mcfizzle.
What percentage would you say you're at in the new GTPlanet site?
The new site itself is "ready". These unexpected issues causing the delay are involved with the actual process of converting the site's data to the new platform.

Hi Jordan, first thanks for all the work and dedication you put into this site and forums, being a regular user with no troubles whatsoever I do appreciate someone as competent being in charge 👍

If I read you correctly we are hours away from the transition to the new GTPlanet interface? This means Social Groups and photo albums will disappear today is that it? I never backed up my own but I think all the photos in these are either mine (stored in one of my computers) or found on the web so it's no big deal.

Will miss the Social Group interaction though but again, no big deal.

Thanks for all the hard work over the (from what I understand) last two years on making the best forum I have ever been on even better.

Any other owner would've probably given up after two months as from my understanding, Responsive Design is really hard to code for. Conversely, you carried on as I guess you knew that at the end of the day the community would benefit from it.

And we will, I can assure you of that.

Good luck with the final transition Jordan! :gtplanet:

My comment referred to a server hardware transition, which is now completed; sorry for the confusion. I'll make a formal announcement with a notice across the top of all forum pages around 24 hours before the site update rolls out, so there will be no mistake when social groups are going to close down for good.

Jordan, with that, from what I read earlier, is it still going to be awhile? Or is the ETA in the near future?

Jordan, I'd like to address something that's been a minor pain to me. For quite some time now, the problem with GTP automatically signing me off has become more of a headache for me. Only time this happens is when I go to search for something and it keeps telling me to log in though I already had logged in once. I was wondering if the update would take care of this problem, though it might be too late for this.

Other than that, I'm ready for the transition. We all thank you for the hard work and support. :D

This has probably been answered before, but can you transfer pictures from your PS3 photo library directly to GTP when the site is updated? This would help me tremendously with posting photos. I have wanted to start my own gallery for quite some time.

It depends on the source of the problem, which is most likely something that's either caching your web pages or deleting the cookies from your browser. We'll just have to wait and see.

You'll be able to upload photos using a standard file upload web form; if that's supported by the PS3's browser and photo library, then yes, but I have never tested this myself.

The only time I have ever been signed out of the app, is when I'm at a hospital or something that blocks GTPlanet. Or if I clear my browser "stuff" myself. Upon returning, I have to log in. I have my phone set to accept and keep cookies.

Ok. Thanks. 👍

Jordan, thank you for the upcoming update. Finding GTPlanet was like finding the goose that layed the golden egg. i've made friends from the world over and have been able to complete my quest for all the cars I wanted to collect.

As others have said your hard work, kindness and generosity has made for the best Gran Turismo community on the net.👍👍👍👍

I got a question about the site's update (to date I'm not sure if it has been done already, or if such conversion is still on progress).

The spoiler tags, will the use the current format, like:

This one

Or will work like HTML5 like the "click to see" format that most vBulletin forums uses nowadays? like this format:

"Click to show spoiler:"
*hypothetical click*(I know it sounds silly)

HTML:
Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler,
Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler, Spoiler...
I'm also not sure if such thing can be done with the existing code, I think it would be a neat way to keep information more reduced for people who make first page threads for racing regulations, or lists, or summaries, or long explanations, etc ...

Without giving too much away - I don't want to ruin all of Jordan's planned surprises - there will definitely be a feature that follows the "click to see" approach you're describing, Akira.

CallMeDan - I've tried to test your PS3 question, but there are some barriers the PS3's lousy browser does not take too kindly to that stopped me before I could get to the right spot. I'll try it again soon 👍

Any progress report? I saw the site go down for the better part of an hour last night. Kept getting parse errors on the app.

Also, will BB code drop down menus be supported? I rather liked that feature on some boards I check out.

I had to sign in again on my app.

Come on Jordan, just spill the beans on when you will be unleashing this bad boy!
