Little description of handling characteristics:
Driven with controller,
Agile, wide drifter and very versitile but if you arent on your toes it will fly of the track.

i optimized it alittle but its far from done.
wheel users could like this car because if you steer max it will straighten up.
with good throttle control it will never spin out.

I tried the -30 toe angle you suggested and it worked nicely for a few tracks. At times tho it made the ass end of the car a little unstable on the smooth tracks. This adjustment worked wonders on tracks like Deep Forest and strangley Fuji.
Theres different styles of how people enter their turns. I myself, like to let the cars engine and gears start the loss of traction in the rear. That seems to favor more straight toe angles. -0.8 toe was what i sticked with.
Thanks for the recomendation.

Running toe-out on a drift car is just silly, it reduces grip and traction and makes the car massively unstable. It's easy to initiate drifts, but it'sharder to hold them. Every well set-up drift car I've ever driven (in real life) has very slight toe-in to increase traction.

Anyone have any other variations for Tom's Chaser X540? Don't like the one in the first post, it just doesn't work for me. Having lots of problems trying to set it up :(

Im using G27

Is that for wheel or controller?

G25 ;)

I've got one I like that works with G25/G27. I'll get the setup for you as soon as Bob has finished this 24hr race he's in.

How does everyone manage with the g27 then?

I have a Special 62' tune
I'm getting about 11,000 in the new drift challenge in the seasonal events
I'm placed between 11th-27th right now but thts just because its new

Thanks for all the tips and tunes so far!
Not sure if it's allowed to request things still, if not then I apologize!
Only using a controller for now and quite new to drifting but getting the hang of it! So I was hoping if anyone knew a good tune for the Viper either the GTS '02 or '99 or preferably the SRT10 Coupe '06 (Since I've seen this guy being a-mazing with it)
Thanks in advance!

Woah,
You. Just made my day. 👍

Practice. tons of it.

At this time, no

really? At one time e-brake was mapped on my G25 to the button that was high/low beams you just have to be smarter than the DFP settings and figure which button corresponds to what. The DFP button settings did effect my G25 can't say so for the '27 or that it still is this way but I would assume so for both. This was not my idea, a friend of mine wanted the ebrake button somewhere to get to faster and we figured it out after some forum searching and helped I had seen it was possible to map buttons on the G25 with the DFP settings (do some searching these forums rarely is there something that has not been answered already).

If you want to be number one or even in the top ten I would suggest you start getting really familiar with using the ebrake to carry every single drift through to the very last millimeter. Obviously in a real competition holding the ebrake at the end of your drift to get the last points out of that scoring section would be laughable and you would lose but in GT5 (and since prologue) I've seen that crazy Japanese guy use this every time. Do I care i get beat by rudimentary game techniques? I don't have a magic setting for "drift mode" on my wheel I use the same FF of 9 that I use for racing. I'm amazed so many people have fun flinging there wheels around as if there tires were on sand, ice, snow, gravel wtf ever with FF setting 1 or 2; thats cool and all but I could go to the arcade and play some Initial D 4 then come home and drift in a racing simulator game with realistic settings.

let me know how it works. Im not done with it yet. Plan on adding a supercharger and a few more upgrades.
I only went with comfort softs instead, aside from that I LOVED it! Way more easy to control in steering now. Learning to drift with a Viper finally seems achievable again for me!

my viper is 948 HP and it drifts like a dream on Comf Hards

I should give it a go on comfort hards too, but my tries at doing such without tuning (both with and without upgrades) didn't go too well. Then again I'm pretty new to drifting, under a week really.
