Now that is nice.

I'm not a big ice person to begin with. I don't even like it in my soft drinks. I hate when I have to set my drink down for something, thinking it will be just a minute, and then come back to find a watered down drink. Then my only option is to toss it down real fast and make another.

Whenever I make a drink I just mix it in the glass I will be drinking from, stir it, and if it needs to be cooled off I drop two ice cubes in it.

That is pretty cool. Looks like a Sith artillery shell .....or a Cylon marital aid.

I think I did a no-no.

My dad bought me two bottles of "Old speckled Hen" the other day and I automatically put them in the fridge. Aren't ales supposed to be room temp?

Read the label. Some are, some aren't.

Where is Smallhorses when you need him?

I don't think so... "slightly chilled" is the key 👍

I've spent all afternoon playing tennis (from 6pm to 10pm) and I'm currently downing my 4th Shandy.

I discovered Gin last night. And I love it.

I'll have to buy some Bombay Sapphire next time I'm out at the liquor store.
Any reccomendations to go with it? Gin and 7-Up/Sprite/etc is my favorite so far, but I haven't tried Gin & Tonic yet due to my severe dislike of tonic water.

Is that stuff blue or is the bottle tinted?

Bottle is blue. Gin inside as clear as clear can be.

And you could try bitter lemon as a mixer.

And Sapphire is my choice of G for a G&T. :)

You could also go for the classic screwdriver, but ginnized!... Immortalised by the infamous Snoop Dogg: Gin n' Juice

I like it with tonic, but that's just me, I guess. There's also something called a Gin Sour (read, like Whisky Sour, sans the Whisky), which is with lemon juice and a splash of water/club soda.

The cool thing about gin, IMO is that you can mix it with many juices, and still achieve a likeable concoction. The best for me are with pineapple juice, grapefruit and lemonade.

My cousin had some Zambooky down in Atlanta recently. :lol:

If you're familiar with Kat Williams you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It's called Pink, and it's vodka with caffeine and energy stuff in it. Somethin' a [brotha] should not be [messed] up on!

There's a place by me that does cocktails in a seperate bar for quite cheap so I'm always there buying the brightest thing on the menu when we're on a night out. :D
Anyone had a 'Zombie'? They're made up of quite a few drinks and are coloured like a rainbow all the way down the glass due to the way the drinks mix. They're delicious too
* 1 part white rum
* 1 part golden rum
* 1 part dark rum
* 1 part apricot brandy
* 1 part pineapple juice
* 1 part papaya juice
* ½ part 151-proof rum
* Dash of Grenadine or other syrup

And then there's my favourite shot, a Brain Damage;

3/4 shot glass Peach Schnapps
1/4 shot glass Baileys
Drops of Grenadine

You basically pour the Schnapps in first, then add a layer of Baileys so it sits on top, then you drop a few drops of Grenadine into the glass right in the center, which pulls the Bailey's down into the Schnapps forming a gloopy shape in the middle. :)

Or a Flatliner;
1/3 shot glass of Sambucca
1/3 shot glass of Vodka
1/3 shot glass of Tequila
Tabasco

-Single layer of Sambucca
-Carefully add 3 drops of Tabasco
-Layer of Vodka
-3 drops of Tabasco
-Layer of Tequila
-Tabasco on top
-Drink and explode :lol:
I've only ever had it once and it was ridiculous.

Had a bit of heavy cream over from homemade fudgesicles, so the Ms. and I had White Russians.

1 part Kahlua
2 part Smirnoff
1 part cream
1 block of ice

White Russian... aka the Caucasian... I got into those after watching the Big Lebowski. Damn they're good!

Agreed, White Russians are really good and so are Black Russians...although I can't remember what is in them.

Alright then, I was a little past gone when I was drinking them. We had a "James Bond Night" while I was at Oxford and the pub there was making us free Black Russians so needless to say I was consuming many of them.

I have a Black Russian with Coke rather than just the neat spirits... goes down alot easier! Although a Black Russian is not in the same league as a White Russian, IMO...

As Diego will no doubt testify, White Russians are incredibly 'more-ish' and deceptively powerful. They taste smooth and innocent, but depending on how generous you (or your bartender) is feeling, they can certainly pack a punch! My mate and I went to a bar on Hoxton Square, London, and had an afternoon of White Russians at £5.50 a pop... ridiculously decadent but pleasant memories :D (the ones I can remember anyway!)

Just having a look at a couple of Moglet's cocktails... I've always wanted to try a 'Zombie', I've heard great things about them (including from Billy Connolly!)... Brain Damage sounds a bit, erm, weird.... I actually quite like Baileys and Peach Schnapps, but not in the same glass :ill: Might be worth a try though, when I'm feeling brave...

I just tried some Disaronno at a friend's house and all I have to say is wow! I haven't had very many different drinks, but this stuff is by far the best tasting thing I've tried. Sipping a shot of that and Crown together makes for a comfortable buzz. 👍

Now, when am I going to get my hands on that bottle of Hennessey...

Almond liquor is great stuff. It's like liquid marzipan.

Try Drambuie, if you like the 'after dinner' sweet stuff.

Would that be aboutb the same as Frangelico?

Nothing better than sitting next to a bottle of that after a copious late Sunday lunch.

Oh man Frangelico is awesome! Hazelnut liqueur has to be on of the best flavors out there. My mom loves that stuff and I often have a tumbler of it with her when we have get togethers at the house. It's probably my second favourite drink right behind Scotch whiskey.
