GTR from concept to production *finally comes to an end* or just the beginning =D

Post #226 by "DARKEST_HOUR"... that bottom photo made me think it was a Gran Turismo game shot. I guess when I think of a veritcally-wide side duct, I'm kind of thinking of a widebody look. The way this concept looks, I'd sure like to imagine how the un-conceptual look ends up on the streets. From what I can tell, I'm not really a Nissan guy, but I am sooooooooooooooo digging this car. It has a nice, curvy shape to it from the sides. You know, this may be a Skyline I'd really be in to. Only things I may change would be the side windows, maybe add an extra pillar to make things flow better. This may seem weird, but I'd keep the overall shape of the car from the sides, just make the back and side windows flow better. I'd like the chop top idea, they just have to make it work nicely. I can't design the car because obviously I'm not a car design student from some Art Institute campus.

And about the "G35 on steroids" comment, I don't think it is. I see a little 350Z in its design. Only sexier and more Skyline-ish. But G35? The G35 killed the Skyline before it, if you want to call the G35 a Skyline.

I think it will look a lot better in person.

Oh yes, I like this car. The sides, the front, the rear, I like it all.

hmm, not as nice as I had hoped but I bet it looks alot better on the road seen in person.

Looks most like the Concept from GT4. And I liked the concept alot but I dunno, it just looks so outthere and "ahead of it's time" looking. AND I LOVE IT!

The Proto has that Coupe side look to it , reminiscent of the Z , losing some of the blockier elements of the previous skylines . I don't know what to think really , it has a downsized feel to it which may make it more urgent & sportier on the tarmac . Impressed , yes. A mite shift upmarket and a definite bias to the sports tourer components .
Okay , I want one ....

the back side is fine, but the front ?meh... no skyline left imo ... that looks like some random sports car... :indiff:

Take that front and modernize it a little bit - here we go ! Won't happen though.... :guilty:

I thought it would look more V35 looking like the NUR mules, but when I first saw it I thought it looks very similar to the 2001 concept.

Why, you think you can convince him to buy one? I would but I've almsot got the money to put a deposit on a Sagaris which I can have next year, this I'd be waiting a year longer. I'd like to think I could have both, I don't plany on using the Sagaris as my daily car and I think this would be much more suited, butI don't plan on my daily car costing 50 grand or more.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I am not going to convince him to buy one, but to only help me buy one in the future. I will have to pay him back later though, but get to pay little at a time per month since I am his "Angel." :embarrassed: The only way I was able to convince him is by do ing what I do best: Get good grades and graduate! (which sholdnt take too long to do) :embarrassed:

Just a thought...I may not even get a GTR if it is only offered in manual. I am really starting to dislike manual transmission the more I drive it week after week. If Infiniti/Nissan do offer some kind of auto, then I would get it. So far, I browsed through several sites and they keep on mentioning about a CVT transmission in the new GTR. :odd: If the GTR is ONLY in manual, then I will just look for a Mercedes-Benz to reaplce it. :embarrassed:

BTW, are you really going to get the Sagaris? :odd:

please dont get a gtr in auto. Resale value will hurt.

Hiya! :D :embarrassed:  Meow! (='.'=)

I understand that, but in order for me to be most satisfied with a GTR is to have it in some kind of auto. :indiff: I really don't care about people making fun of my GTR because its not a stick. I really don't care if a ricer say my GTR is S*** because its not a stick. If everything in the car is a GTR in everyway, it will always be a GTR in my heart and that is all it matters! :)

Yep, I'm getting a Sagaris next year, providing my business keeps up mind but I'm confident it will, I'm putting a deposit down on one over Christmas, I need 10k for the deposit which I have now but it's leave me a bit short for other things at the moment. I've already spoke to TVR about it and I've got a test drive next month.

I'm going to buy new from the factoryt. To put a deposit for 6-10 months they wanted 10k.

What do you know..

It looks exactly how everyone said it wasn't going to look a couple years back when this prototype first debuted..

Leave it to Nissan to ..not really suprise anyone..

wasnt it rumored to have a 7 gear sequential manual gearbox (similar to the BMW M5)...those should be much easier to drive compared to the "H-style" conventional manual gearbox...

I think it's pretty much confirmed to have a 7 speed sequential gear box. Theres no problem driving thoes even if you don't like H shifters.

Umm Its alright I guess, I like everything except the C pillars....THey slope down way too much they're G35'ish. It'd look a hell of a lot better IMO if the C pillars were a more squarish like the R34..
