Okay so, there's very few straights on Nurburgring. Which I expect to mean alot of collisions between GT500 and GT300 cars (I had 2 collisions at monza :S). While yes the 300s have way, just please be on the lookout for any 500s overtaking. To quote Ayrton Senna 'if you no loner go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver'. And that basically sums it up. If a 500 like myself sees a gap, we will take it, just because I'm 5th or whatever doesn't mean I'm no longer competitive, I want to win as much as anyone, and not going for a gap isn't going to get me a win.

At least for Nurburgring, because of the lack of straightaways it might be a good idea if the 300's try to slide over for the 500's on the straights. Otherwise there might be a lot of 500's getting very aggressive in trying to pass. The 300's should still hold their line in the turns though. This is just a suggestion, as the decision is obviously up to the stewards.

I always give the 500s plenty of room. Doesn't hurt if you drive around the outside of a corner once in a while. Just know what the rule book says "300s have right of way". So if an incident happens cause of twitchyness of the 300 car, they would be at fault.

But in my eyes it would just be best the 300s play it nice and give the 500s the racing line. Give and take like. Don't screw your self up trying to let a 500 by but no need to be a butt and hug every apex holding them up.

I think it's been pretty well demonstrated that the 500's are not going to give the 300's the line.

Hey look what's back (also need to get abud's q time from a steward.

I would like to lock my girlfriend in a closet sometimes. And like forget she's in there. But she doesn't die cause that would be murder, but instead just lives comfortably in the closet without being a pain in the butt... :)

That is all.

Sidenote: This is stemming from the fact that Saturday is her birthday and she and her family want to go to dinner for her birthday. At what time you ask? 7pm ET.

See the problem :lol::lol::banghead:

Trust me I just spent an hour trying to get out of it but it was like talking to a wall. Freaking women man... I knew this was prolly going to happen but I was hoping she would forget about dinner... Nope. Tt was in the first 5 minutes of today's conversation.

I just checked Pure's website for their GT300 Qualifer which I'm not sure what their hp levels are, but the gap was pretty much 2'02'xxx for pole and 2'03's for most of the pack with a couple of guys running 2'04's out to 2'06 at the slowest. Out of the box with no front downforce I ran a low 2'05'xxx, but my target is to hit 2'03 for a safe qualifing effort! 2'04's should be easy with a 2'03 being great knowledge of the track and chassis working together!

Just don't go for a gap thats gonna ruin somebody's race. If you can't make a gap without using the driver as a pit wall in the turn don't do it.

I know I'll be watching for 500 cars, and let them by at the best time for both of us if I'm gonna move over for them, say they catch me into a turn, well us 300s can take some turns just as well so I'll just hold my line or side by side and then let them overtake me on the straights.

I think it's been pretty well demonstrated that the 500's are not going to give the 300's the line.

Hopefully they make smart decisions when they try and pass us.

Well people get sick every now and then where they can't go to dinner otherwise its just bad for everyone:tup::lol::lol::lol:

They're HP levels are pretty close, a lil higher then ours for some cars but they also regulate more for turbos and such, and they're also running on racing hards:tup:

I have not had any problems with 300's or myself getting into any of them.

Aside from KK which was a cheeky move on my part, neither have I, getting held up sometimes is inevitable but I felt they did a good job to see me coming.
Edit:Anyone practicing?

Takeaway dinner mate. :P

Shagg has been violated. :scared:

lol... Not liking the direction this conversation is going...

ANYWAYS...

The DHS trailer has finally pulled up to the Nurgburgring circuit and they are about to unload my RX-7 off the truck. I should be on the track in about 10-20 minutes.

Even If I don't race I mine as well practice and get a feel for the track anyways. I need a lot of track time here cause I normally try to avoid this track at any means necessary...

Oh yeah? Well the arta's being hovercrafted there :sly:

Alright track officials have officially opened up the track.

My lounge :). Not on friends list just add me

i don't get why you guys don't like the track?!?! It's so much fun; I wish I were near a PS3 so I could run it with you guys. The technicality and flow of the track makes it amazing to race on; however, I do know from practicing for GT Academy that it is very tempermental and a line you thunk is slow, is fast, and one you think is fast, ends up being half a second slow. Just remember, it's all about the exit of the corners here. You want as much speed as you can coming out of 1, 4, 7, 12, and 16, and carry as much speed as possible through the Schumacher Esses and the Chicane.

You really can't compare their times and ours, the HP is different, they don't run turbos, and they run RH tires. It looks like our times will be about a second quicker than they ran. I'm going to try to run a conservative high 2:02 for first lap in qualifying and if I get that then I can push it on the second lap and go for a low 2:02. (all of the above is subject to change as practice progresses) :sly:

Tire wear is going to be a big issue here, the time fall off quickly when tires start getting worn. The cars that are easier to drive on worn tires should do well.

Just wrapped up an hour long session. Finally started figuring things out the last 15 minutes or so. I was running consistent 2:02.2-2:03.3s for most the session until I hit something in the hairpin and my next 2 runs of 2 laps (so total of 4 laps) my times were 2:01.8s-2:02.0s. I still scratching my head a bit in the first sector. When I ran my pb of 2:01.835 my first sector was a 37.8 but my pb first sector is a 37.4 but I just can't quite get a consistent first sector...

Pole should be in the 2:01s but I can see it slipping to a 2:02 possibly. It's easy to mess up one corner and your down 2-3 tenths it seems.

It's fun in small quanities, but for an hour? :grumpy: I used to really like Nurburgring, but then they had to redesign by adding the stupid hairpins at the beginning and tightening the chicane. It's also bumpy, slow, hard to pass at and very easy to spin. It's also very hard to be consistent at, the rumble strips are completely useless, there's sand everywhere you don't want it to be... I could keep going for awhile.

I can't break into the 2:01's, my PB is 2:02.2 My problem is in the second sector, when I get that right I run low 2:02's, when I don't, I run high 2:02's. Hopefully I'll get more consistent in that sector with more practice.
