You should ask someone for their set-up(someone thats fast like Veloci). I was running 1.58s in the GT500s and was told how to set the car up which was like opposite of what I was doing and gained 2 seconds not even trying to go fast

That is good advice but if that doesn't work for you, don't be discouraged. I asked a couple of the really fast guys about their tunes and when I tried them out I found that it just didn't work for me. Tunes depend a lot on driving styles, if you look back a few pages where Dragon gives some tuning suggestions and do everything just the opposite of what he says, you would end up with my tune.:boggled: What works for one person may or may not work for another. My advice is to try a lot of tunes, find the one that feels best and tweak it yourself from there. Don't depend on a "magic tune" to make you fast, good lap times will come more from finding the correct line through corners, braking points, etc., in other words practice, practice, practice. 👍

This link is to the GT5 tuning database, scroll down to your car and try the tunes, if you find one that feels good, then use it and start tweaking it to match your driving style. https://sites.google.com/site/gt5tune/home

I have tried a couple different tunes but here in lies the problem, if i don't like something about the car idk how to tweak it myself. I don't know what to change to get the car to do what I want. I don't know how to identify the problem let alone fix it with tweaks, cuz I have no idea what i'm doing when it comes to tuning cars. So here's a question do i have to know how to tweak/tune cars in order to be successful in these series? I really just wanna race online with some good racers but idk it seems like every series i get involved with has some really hardcore players who seems to know everything about tuning and tweaking cars.

A quick tip: In the tuning section of each part, there's a little yellow box with a question mark. It will tell you a decent amount of info about how to tune each part to achieve the desired affect. It's not the grandest of knowledge, but it's definitely a good start if you don't know much about tuning. From there, just keep moving stuff around to see what works best for you.

Well tbh a lot of people tune their cars but i have absolutely no clue what exactly im doing, i just change some things and if it doesnt helo the car i chamge it back. Im sure if you talk to some of the guys like dragon and king, theyd be able to help you immensly with setups. I still go to them when i need somethin on a setup

Really appreciate all the advice and support guys, this is why I love the gran turismo community. I've been playing forza 4 lately and the community is nothing like gran turismo's.

Well I'm definitely not the quickest racer by far in this bunch, but I'd be glad to help all I can. If you want to add me on PSN; boshuter I usually practice every evening starting around 8-9pm CST, feel free to join me and maybe I can help.

will do maybe i'll come practice with you tonight, i'll add you.

Best words a driver needs to hear to get better, can't tell you how many hours or laps per track me, king, and others have practiced, there has been times in the past I know me and king put over 100 laps if not more on one track before we had our league races. Now not so much, but the more you practice the better you will get as long as your working on fixing things that need to be fixed.

Qualifying is now open for this week's race. This will be the post that will be used for the qualifying results. It is going to be this Saturday at 7ET. It will be at Nurburgring GP/F and will be an hour long race (30 Laps)

This post here will detail the results, procedures and etc on how we do qualifying (See OP for more details). Qualifying is over and final 12 hours before the scheduled start of the race.

The chart below details the current qualifying standings. This will be updated as the week goes forth and when a new page is made I will quote this post

To qualify you can either PM a steward here on GTPlanet, post a post on here with a public room number for a steward to join, or if you are friends on PSN with a steward you can PM them on there. Below is the list of Stewards that can qualify you (as of now)

GTPlanet name (PSN name)

- XxShaggxX (Xx-Shagg-xX)
- DragonGT83 (same)
- KingBestJr (same)
- gtpanoz (panoz38)
- Infernothefox (InfernoTheFox)
- kk20 (killa_kandy)

Note that Stewards must qualify with other Stewards

Just like to remind drivers to review their weight ballast penalties and make sure your ready when we check regs.

Also wanted to let people know and define staggered start a lil bit, this means we are double file, 2nd place remains at the rear bumber of 1st and may not go ahead of his rear bumber till after the start finish line, also 3rd must do the same and remain at the rear bumber of 2nd till they cross the line and further down the field, there is no backing up and getting a run then passing with a ton of momentum right after the line, this will be considered a jump start so remain at the rear bumber of the person starting ahead of you.

also I will ask everyone to lineup in qualifying order, 500s first, after regs and lineups are done. Then I will start the race, this will make it easier to get into formation.

I agree with this statment, I personally try to clock a 100 laps at whatever track we're going too before I even start tweaking. I've found more time learning the track and car together and then tuning 2nd. Sometimes you think you tuned something right and really you just drove thru a sector better from the repetition. The more laps I clock before I tune the better I can feel the tune I actually just did. If you don't have time just set the track to whatever laps we are going to run on Sunday, and by the end of that session you will be quicker with pretty good knowledge of track line and chassis behavior!

Just updated a couple more 500's qualified that i added so we have 10 500's and 12 300's so far.

It looks everything is set for this weeks race. This weeks race will be 30 Laps.

Just a reminder on how things will work. We will have the room open probably 30 minutes before 7ET that way we can get things set up and make sure everything is operating. We will probably get the race started closer to 7:30 just depends when everyone gets into the room. (Also takes a bit to do all of the regs). Be sure to follow my instructions when we are doing regs so we can get through it as smooth as possible.

When we are doing the pace laps remember that it is staggered rolling start so you are to keep a car length inbetween you and the next driver. Here is an image describing how to this:

500s will go first on the parade lap and will be allowed to get about a 20-30 second gap. Pace speed is 70 mph and is up to pole sitter to keep this speed. When the leader hits the start finish line that when everyone goes full speed. THERE IS NO PASSING before the start finish line.

Anybody in red on the qualify chart means they have indicated they won't be there. The room a drivers have been adjusted for this fact.

The people above the black line are racing in Room A and people below the line will be in Room B. We will have a full room b consisting of the full scheduled distance of 30 laps. On paper we should have about 5 500 drivers and 4 300 drivers. It is important that all room b drivers show up to ensure the best product of racing for all drivers involved. We will also be tracking the laps done so if someone in room a exits early in the race, anybody who finishes more laps in room b will be given there position. Also the winner in room b will be given a points boost so you all are fighting for something.

If you are in Room B stay tuned cause if someone in Room A doesn't show up they could be upgraded to Room A. People in room b will have priority based on qualifying results.

Good luck! 👍

man it is like impossible to get into room A for me. dont get how I can do a 03.5 in Practice mode then can only manage a 04.8...

What in the world happened to Canze...In any case I expect to get passed alot at the start, Im slow into turn 1 here.
