So track guide time
.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
Turn 1
La Source hairpin
The La Source hairpin appears easy on entry, but tightens on exit meaning you have to brake alot earlier than expected.
It is possible to overtake going into La Source but with the straights following it, and GT5 slipstreaming you would lose the place almost immediately.
With the large run off area collisions should be minimal here.
Turn 3 and 4
Eau Rouge
If a good run out of La Source puts you alongside your opponent then overtake going into Eau Rouge. It is easy flat and the steering angle is moderate so collisions are avoidable. Be sure to stay in track limits though!
Turn 5
Raidillon
When overtaking through Eau Rouge it is easy to cut out Raidillon, which is why it is best to drop back and pick up the draft after this complex. The following straight is where you will reach max speed.
Kemmel Straight
A good place to overtake is at the end of the straight. Much like the straight at Le Mans, make your move too early and your opponent will pick up the draft and claim the place back. So timing is everything.
Turn 7 and 8
Les Combes
You should only be alongside here if you've out braked your opponent picking up the draft late on the Kemmel Straight. With a large run off to the left it is possible to avoid and accident. But please be careful in this corner.
Turn 9
Malmedy
If you are still alongside you should have backed off by now. There is a large gravel pit to the left and it is highly possible one of you will be going into it.
Turn 10
Bruxelles
With the large gravel pit on the outside and downhill braking interclass overtakes should not be done on this corner. It is far too risky. Lapping cars however can be done here. Just give each other alittle bit of room. But don't dive down the inside!
Turn 11
With a slippery AstroTurf on exit you should be cautious under entry to this corner. The AstroTurf does upset the rear of the car. You should not overtake here unless the car infront made a mistake in Bruxelles such as going into the gravel.
Turn 12
Pouhon
This hard left hander is the trickiest corner forte SuperGT cars. With the cars at full lock and full throttle, overtakes should be AVOIDED here altogether. Unless the car infront outbrakes himself and runs off the circuit just be patient and sit behind them.
Turn 13 and 14
Fagnes
If the car infront was slow through Pouhon then try and overtake here. There is a run off area on the left of Turn 13, but be cautious of the gravel trap on the right of Turn 14. Any contact will send the car heading that way.
Turn 15
Campus
DO NOT OVERTAKE HERE. It will end up in contact. And the outside driver will end in the gravel. There is a huge straight ahead, just sit behind and wait for the draft.
Turn 16
Stavelot
A good exit from Turn 15 is vital here as Stavelot propels you down the second longest straight of the circuit. Be careful not to run wide here and over the white lines though.
Turn 17
This isn't really a corner. Flat out easy left. More of a kink. It's possible to be alongside here heading into Turn 18
Turn 18
Blanchimont
Blanchimont is surprisingly easy in the SuperGT cars. Easy flat and hardly full lock. It's possible to go two wide through here.
Turn 19 and 20
Bus Stop
Out brake your opponent on the entry of Bus Stop for a nice move leading into the next lap. Chose your line carefully though. As you go outside its easy to get squeezed into the apex of Turn 20 and have a poor exit across the start finish line. But go inside and it's possible to be squeezed off the road on Turn 20 forcing you to back out.
Pit Entry
You will need to provide some kind of force to slow the car otherwise you will just go straight into the wall. But the exit is definitely easier in these cars.
Pit Exit
Watch out for people rounding La Source as they will have more speed heading into Eau Rouge. Do not dive infront and cause a collision. But try get alongside or even fall back and get the slipstream down the Kemmel Straight.
Overall this is a very good track for SuperGT cars. There are plenty of overtaking opportunities, and the Tarmac run off will help avoid collisions. Traffic will be minimal around here. But as always be careful, and have some respect for the other drivers.
