And some 3rd gear throttle control too. :sly: Man I thought I was decent here, King had me by .2 .3 though the first two sectors and then I lose all my time in the last two sectors. Well, I'll have to figure that out this week.

This one is going to be pretty wild, but in an good way.

O yeah, King I was starting to get into the shift light at the end of the straight, do you think that will be ok with the draft?

Yeah it should be, this race will be all about keeping the car underneath you the whole race. I can only imagine what this car feels like when the tires wear more. :)

Ran a few laps, my pb 1.34.0xx. Car is very unstable. If I run more then 5 laps I think I could get the hang of it better.

Qualifying is now open for this week's race. This will be the post that will be used for the qualifying results. It is going to be this Friday at 9:30pm ET. It will be at Indianapolis Road and will consist of two heat races where this qualifying session will determine the starting order of the first heat, while the second heat will be determined via reverse order of the results from the first. Each heat will be (TBA Laps)

This post here will detail the results, procedures and etc on how we do qualifying (See OP for more details). Qualifying is over and final 12 hours before the scheduled start of the race.

The chart below details the current qualifying standings. This will be updated as the week goes forth and when a new page is made I will quote this post

To qualify you can either PM a steward here on GTPlanet, post a post on here with a public room number for a steward to join, or if you are friends on PSN with a steward you can PM them on there. Below is the list of Stewards that can qualify you (as of now)

GTPlanet name (PSN name)

- XxShaggxX (Xx-Shagg-xX)
- DragonGT83 (same)
- KingBestJr (same)
- gtpanoz (panoz38)

Note that Stewards must qualify with other Stewards

I did some math and the 2 races each will be 20 laps. With Mandatory pit stop between LAP 7 and 14.

I guess PD has done a great job at simulating the grip levels at tracks. How Nurburgring wears tires really fast and at Indy's road course the in-field is extremely slick. Did anyone see the MotoGP races this past weekend? "Vicious" high-sides and low sides. I think 2 riders missed the race after being injured in practice and qualifying sessions. Thats prob why this car isn't to stable. 404 HP right?

Qualifying is open for this Fridays race at Indy Road with the RX-7 TC at 404hp.

👍

Well I ran a few more laps, a lot really. I figured out that when my steering sensitivity is on 7 instead of my usual 4 I drive like a noob.

1:34.5 for a pb and it's more of a compromise to keep the car on the track, now if I can last the whole race without having an off, that will be the test. Looks like I don't have much for king and dragon on this one.

When I started GT Academy, I read one of the first hints and I figured to lower the steering sensitivy to -2 and then -1 so I was able to be more precise. -2 was too unprecise but Ive been alot better with -1. Or maybe I should try to be more precise with a high sensitivity? I think -1 helped alot

Back from vacation, Bob is breaking the car in as we speak, painters have already done a fantastic job with the Metallic British Racing Green scheme (with a little Welsh/Canadian influence ;) ) and soon she'll be ready to roll out onto the asphalt at Indy Road!! :D

Good to hear I'm interested to see what crazy fast lap times you run here lol

Just got about 6 laps in with a best of 1'34.0xx. Maybe another 0.5s to find. Should be able to get a good few laps in tomorrow night, so will look out for you guys.

great stuff, ran about 10 more laps tonight, 1.33.921 my pb now. looking at my sector times that I've run an overall best pb for me is like a 33.4, but putting it all together would be epic and I haven't been able to run that epic lap yet haha

Just wondering how much use it really is to break in the motor, when we're limiting it anyway. Can more torque and HP in the low revs be of any use, when the power is already sufficient to spin em at will? Could this be a case of less torque making it a more driveable car, a la what RedBull F1 was doing with their engine maps this year?

I guess on corner exit it might help a slight bit but i doubt it really. But at the same time what you might gain in traction on exit you will lose on straights probably.

The car has so much torque I'm just short shifting on coming out of most of the corners. But I'm not going nearly as quick as the fast guys, soooooo that might not be the best tactic.

Try it I guess, have you run any laps? I guess you could compare times???

I will be opening a room a little later probably around 7 to 8 pm est for guys to qualify, remember its wensday have toq qualify by 930am est on Friday.

Room up - 1472 6399 8880 6891 0726 for practice

EDIT - Room closed, very lonely, too tired etc etc, lol. Managed a 1'33.8 flat but had countless laps ahead of this which I couldn't complete. 33.5 is possible for me, but it's so easy to lose 2/10th's here with a minor mistake :).

Ran a stint of 9 laps and the tyres were still good for sub' 1'35's at this point, so no issues there. Will have to look out for a room tomorrow to get a quali' run in.

Sorry i havent opened a room today to qualify people like i planned. I ended up spending this afternoon and night moving furniture and installing some new carpet for my sons new room. Would have done it yesterday but ended up having to fix my moms truck, dayum brake caliper piston froze up and almost caught dayum crap on fire lol. Been really busy last couple days. Will be available anytime tomorrow to qualify everyone.

Looks like a fun series. I enjoy spec racing and the car/track lineup looks great here.

Would it be possible to join the series even if I will not make all of the races? I know that I would not be in contention for points, but this all just for fun for me regardless.

I am not 100% positive I will be able to race this week (I have to leave around 10:30PM EDT to make my work shift), but perhaps I should qualify in the event I can run. I will send a request this evening when I am off.
