Off the top of my head I wanted to say it's a Fairey Battle, but that's not right. It kind of looks like a Hawker Sea Fury but I know that's also incorrect... but barking up a closer tree.

[edit] The rudder/stab is saying "Blackburn" to me. Blackburn Firebrand?

Barking up the right tree - it is british, but it isnt a Fairey or a Hawker :D

[clue] Note the tail wheel, or lack of one [/clue]

Heh, I was editing in my answer when you were giving a clue.

Blackburn Firebrand?

OK, here we go:

Gosh, something didnt look right under that livery the first time round.

Is that a Feisler Storch?!

Edit: I have to go till tomorrow (fri), so somebody else can take my turn if I am correct.

Yup. Fiesler Storch. Takeoff roll of about 150 feet, and landing rollout well under 100 feet.

One of you guys who haven't posted many take the next one!

That would be a Grumman F7F Tigercat. Very pretty but underutilized.

Looked it up, Probert Online Encyclopedia......a wealth of aircraft information!
I think I just got lucky really!!!

You're joking, right? ;)

It's a North American AT-6 Texan... or the Harvard variant since it appears to be flying RCAF colors.

Well, in your defense, nearly all of the quote Zeroes unquote in the original Tora Tora Tora were converted T6s:

They cut the canopies down, but you can see the rudder is still the same T6 fin.

OK, tough one here:

Sorry about the pics, but they're a little hard to find.
