General Dynamics made the f-16 anyway so that doesn't help much but;
Is it the T-50 Golden Eagle?

General Dynamics makes other aircraft besides the F-16.

Nope, not a T-50.

This aircraft was named after a certain Asian president. It was the first fighter aircraft his country built on their own and is the only operator of this fighter.

Ok. Next up.......

Correct - Beech 17 "Staggerwing". I have to give it to 911 because he had a little more info, but Honourable Mention to Viper Zero as well.

Post one up!

No, it's a pusher, twin props. Man. I know the shape of that rudder, but I can't come up with it...

The duke wasn't fooled by my choice of picture - I hoped it would look like they were jet engines.

The filename is a fairly explicit clue (well it is when you know the answer):)

Moped is a clue to the name of the manufacturer.

So: how many manufacturers do YOU know who might make both mopeds and planes?

Another assistance:

That is a jockey wheel sticking out the back. The plane is an "amphibian", as opposed to a flying boat.

None come to mind. I am racking my brains and I know I am going to kick myself when I hear the answer.

I am abso-freaking-lutely stumped on this one. Excellent work, 911, but I'm thinking it's time to chalk it up and post another?

In fact "moped" might not have helped you as much as "scooter".

As in the company that makes the Vespa.

And the aero busines and the scooter business were the same company up to 1966.

Piaggio.

With the Prancing Horse on the rudder, that's got to be your last airplane's baby sister, the Piaggio P-180.

Neon Duke has it. The Piaggio P180 Avanti belonging to Ferrari SPA.

And for a bonus point: can Neon Duke explain why there is an irony in the Prancing Horse appearing on the side of a modern airplane? :)

Eh, the Marchetti has been called the "Flying Ferrari" (and I saw one do aerobatics at the recent Dover show), but that's all I can come up with at the moment... Well, that, and that the Ferrari factory made fighters for Italy during WWII.

In the meantime, here's my aircraft. These two are pretty similar, but this aircraft has been built in monoplane, biplane, parasol, and floatplane variants, and also in one- and two-seat open- and closed-cockpit configurations.

It took me forever to find decent pictures, so no cheating.

I suppose it WAS more of a car question. I might save the answer for another post.
