Thanks, I hope a bit of research is allowed because I didn't know the track before :)

Anyway, here goes, probably too easy for you guys:

Hmm...On a lark, I'm going to guess that it's Texas World Speedway? (It hosted a Can-Am race in 1969 using a layout similar to that.)

I see your answer for Wellington was copied and pasted off of Wikipedia. :)

I'm gonna ask if the circuit is out of the USA.

Hmm, coming up blank with this one... looks a bit like Phakisa - but so do many ovals.

It's not Phakisa though :)

PS - I just checked the rules set by the OP, so it's an hint for every 5 guesses? Am I allowed to make it easier for you guys?

It also looks a bit like the Nissan test track. Just to confirm - this is a race circuit not a test track?

It is a circuit, and it is not the Nissan Test track. I'm now posting a picture I took from Google Earth. It's not exactly an hint but it shows the current configuration of the track. The "oval" concept was replaced for a more "Indianapolis" 4 corners layout.

Hope this helps (considering the "oval" layout somewhat misguided your first guesses):

@ axletramp: Nice attention to detail. It is in Africa :)

No Alex, not Curitiba

Guys, I'll be away for a few hours, so I'll give an hint. If anyone solves this don't wait for me to declare a winner, just carry on.

The hint is ... my nationality :)

It's Luanda in Angola (part of the old Portuguese empire)

EDIT: How the **** did you find that? And when do they get time to host race events in Angola?!

OK, here we go with a new one. I have no idea if this is a hard one or not - we shall see...

Great job axletramp 👍

The track was built when Angola was still under Portuguese rule, we had some racing going on there. All that sadly ended 3 years later, when independence was immediately followed by the horrible civil war that lasted for about 20 years. I'm told that recently some racing events have returned to that track, obviously just a shadow of what it was 40 years ago.

Very little to recognise anything by.... Want to say Knockhill, but its not raining!!:ouch:

Haha - Oof! I don't want to give too much away too early as there's usually some clever bugger who gets it straight away. :sly:

Little clue... not the UK.

That counts me out until at least 4 clues down the line... takes me 5 guesses after its correctly identified! :dunce:

Although I think I'm onto a winner with Smolensk Ring!

EDIT: You have got to be kidding me!

... as I was saying... ;)

DromeGT IS CORRECT! There was a little clue in the livery of the Beemer at the back of the grid. :)

Oops! It's all about the timing, eh?!
