That 13 is way off, most VT times run in at least the mid 12's. But even still with that bad run, great, the Skyline was still almost a second behind in the quarter mile. It was also .4 g's behind on the skidpad, and 1-100mph time was considerably slower, as was most of the other tests. "All around" does not mean "quarter mile".

Diablo would still leave the skyline in the dust, the top speed of the skyline is 112 and the diablo, 208

BTW, i like the little yellow police vans:D :D they got yellow lights, there is one in Super 2NR TV's oct 2 show

Yeah both diablo and skyline 1/4 time is slow.. the gtr mostly run high 12- low 13s fastest gtr i seen run is 12.777 in a R33 in a cold month but thats during cold months, so. Anyway aveage GT-R run 12.8-13.0s and the Diablo is quite fast around low 12s thats a big difference but the power is a big difference too.

The top speed isnt 112 on the GT-R im very sure about that and yeah that is pretty weird how the GT-R was very slow.

the top speed on the GTR is electronically limited to 112, simply cutting the #53 wire on the ecu (yellow and silver one) will effectively remove the limiter. You also have to remember that the skyline is running on 1/2 the engine. As for it's poor performace on the skidpad, you seem to forget that the reason the skyline does poorly is because of the Super Hicas that greatly hampers it in that area, removing the Hicas fuse will yeild greater performance. As for the fastest GTR I've seen a 7.671@181.98 and the Croydon Wholesalers R32 GTR ran a 8.69 @ 158 mph on street tires. I've also seen the HKS GTR putting out over 1500 Hp and running 51 psi of boost. There is also the 1360 hp fully road registered and street legal (yes it passes emissions) veilside GTR. Considering all the factors epecially price the GTR is more than a match for any diablo. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the skyline has also been detuned. See nissan only sets the injector duty cycle at 80% from the factory, meaning the skyline can only run at 80% efficiency. Another little issues is the boost restrictor plug placed inside the engine that forces all the boost through a tiny hole, simply remove it and you get instant free power. Take RazorGTR's R23 skyline for an example. He removed the plug, bought an aftermarket chip to take care of the 80% duty cycle problem and he runs an 11.82 @ 112 mph in full street trim including spare wheel and all tools and full interior...ooh wow only 300 bucks and hes running 11's in a car that was built in 1992. BTW incase you are wondering...he only paid 14K for his car, nowhere neat the price of the diablo. :D

yeah fastest skyline is the HKS GT-R it ran mid 7s too i was talking about stock skyline... 12.777 is fastest i seen stock.

The skyline are scary enough but imagine a RX7 on a touge ;) it can hang with most of the japanese racers out there here is some pictures..

with the de-tuned ecu....I'll ask sean from rbmotoring if he knows what it runs 100% stock except with the duty cycle at 100% and the boost restrictor plug removed.

He payed 14K (AUS) for an originally 13 second car? Hm. Oh, I see, as long as you mess with the car after you buy it, it can be faster. Take out the four-wheel steering too, that should make it handle better. I'm not interested in the "best Skyline drag racer that ran 7 seconds HKS turbo", you said stock that the Skyline was almost as fast as a Diablo. In a flawed quarter, maybe, but in other aspects no.

Thats it, im quitting my university studies, and moving to Japan to become a cop! hehe. Man that is cool, unlike the stupid camaro cop cars which get outrun by '89 stock M3's ( with only a 2.4L 4 banger  ).

correction, 2.3L stock. although the m3 in that video was most likely modified. probably bmped to 2.5L evo spec.

BTW, from behind the wheel of the same car, i can verify police interceptors can only reach 128mph. 3am, long drive home and no patience. slowed down for my exit and saw lights behind me, owned.

if i had a valentine one i would have known not to slow down. the trooper said he had the accelerator to the firewall for miles and he wasnt gaining. i believe i was going 140. this was without the cam, minus around 20hp, plus around 200lb.

wouldnt do it again, but if i ever choose suicide, im going out in glory.

**** radio.

if/when i build an ultima GTR, ill fear nothing. its quicker than a hayabusa. hmm, im rusty on specs, but i believe its around 550hp/2000lb. chevy small block or something. i probably could stay in 5th gear and would be doing 150 in a couple seconds.

how could you not run?

Well, its not like it would be that hard for them to find out who you were. There isn't exactly a plethora of Ultima GTRs registered in one particular area of the US. Good luck with that though.

Exactly :D

I might have missed this but what exactly is the reasoning for the clear plastic piece on the hoods of all the Japanese pursuit vehicles?

i think they can manage without the stupid plastic sheialdand use the window wipers and fluid and wipe thouse bugs off the hard way and also get more preformace

On a recent visit to japan i was let on in the little secret behind the plastic screens, on the dash is a little plastic box that acts like a projector in a chase, it project information onto it so the driver does not have to look down as some chases exced the 300 click mark, makes it safer.
