really? why doesn't it just project on the windshield like cadillacs?

like a heads-up display on a fighter plane?
wouldn't it be obscured in the rain? wouldn't it be cleverer if tehy put it..inside teh car, be abit too close but surely easier to read.

yeah cadillac has one thats inside.

How much do heads-up displays cost? Because you have cars with paddle shift gear boxes so you dont have to take your hands off the steering wheel, why don't they have heads-ups on supercars so you don't have to look at your speed/revs

they could have one infront of the front-passenger. They could play shoot the car with a little cross hair in the middle of the heads-up.

A company I found on the internet (here the page expires for some reason) reckons they can make one for $249-$349 for motorbikes. It will show speed, revs and gear.

If you saw what they look like you would understand how they work, it is one of those see to beleive sort of things, they are projected in black and it shows them speed of chase, what happin`s in the road next, and the rain does not effect it at that speed, it`s only used in chases, ever done 300 km/h in the rain? it`s not exactly a factor in visibility, on traction.

Believe it or not folks, we have something here that is quite amazing.

Every year or so, the Wisconsin cops decide that, in order to promote themselves, they challenge anyone and everyone to a race against them. It's really cool, the state rents out a course for you and a cop to go one on one in a race. There is no prize if you win, except the feeling that you can waste a cop.

I tried it last year in my STOCK 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe. I went up against one of the ever-so popular Crown Victoria model cop cars. Believe it or not, I won. It was a course consisting of about 10 turns and it had 1 good straightaway. Off the line, I took it by 2 cars, but it caught up and was on my tail at the first corner, we went through several turns with him gunning to get around me. Each corner presented a new problem with him trying to get around on my outside. After each turn, though, I would take off, leaving him atleast 10 feet behind. Lucky enough, the finish line is at the end of a straightaway, so as we rounded the last turn, I took off and won by about 3 secs. Did I forget to say that the truck has a speed limiter at 100mph? Yeah, I was topping out about halfway down the last strip. I couldn't turn as well, because I sat way higher and with much greater top-heaviness, but I sure did take him on the straights. Nice to know these facts, teehee. J/K

A crown victora has the same 1/4 mile time as a fully loaded automatic 1995 accord EX sedan. Sport compact car had a test on police cars.

Iran just got a bunch of these mercedes ones.

I would be interested in more information about this. email me.

Is it just me or are they going to need to incorparate some serious supercars to keep up with some of the machines out there

Im sure they have ways to cope with cars going 200+mph plus.
First I doubt many people could reach that sort of speed on public roads what with the traffic and road surface.
Also If you are going so fast it is unlikey you are going to have the reactions to change course easily in a split second, so laying some spikes down in advance of their direction should do it.

Why can't us American's get with the program? we're still cruising around with Crown Victoria and Caprice police cars. although they're pretty hopped up. They can catch up to some fast cars pretty quickly.

I would have thought that laying down spike strips infront of a car travelling at 200mph+ would have caused some serious damage, maybe even kill the driver, he`s a speeder, not a murderer(altho he could be)
