Why didn't I think of the Wanderer status of Kenjiro?

He is one, since he's not affiliated to any of the groups, but I missed that piece of info.

Well, then. I missed a few good pages.

@KazaMR2 that NOS thing has me worried. People with 4WDs that accelerate well could save the NOS for the hairpin and just dump the whole tank to get a lead.

Unless proven in a race situation, it seems fine for now. But then again if someone wanted to they could just save most of their nitrous till the end and win easily. For now it works out good though.

How do you get more models for s-tuner?

There is mods on certain FB groups and the S-tuner forums. [My mods are private ones though.]

Here's a little project I've been working on for a while now... I've basically replicated some of the HR story character's cars in S-tuner.

You should make my R33 Kaza! :D
Also I made a new Supra that runs basically the same times as my R.[/QUOTE]

Me and some friends are going to be starting the Hot Version tuning competition, where in judges test tuner submitted cars on the touge to see which car is the touge monster in different classes. It is open for everyone and was wondering if anyone here wants to participate.

I'd just end up making a car that flips without warning. I'll pass.

It'd be good if you could somehow incorporate it into a Hajime Racers sponsored event, that'd get some of the guys joining here as well as your comp.

But, I won't be around to race, too busy at the moment.

im definitely interested

I'm sure everyone has seen the trailer for GT Sport - the trailer shows cars racing on public roads which look very very familiar - winding elevated sections, and tunnels lined with beautiful yellow tile - ring any bells???? :D :D

Nope.

Yep! The sort-of replica C1 that's way shorter.

Nope what? Nope you haven't seen it? Get on it! :P

I just checked the official track list, and "Tokyo Expressway" is listed! This is going to so 🤬 epic :D

Edit: just thinking though, SSR7 better make a return in GT7. It was one of the most popular online tracks, so can't see why not....but we are talking about PD, so....

I'm just going to wait for GT7.

GT Sport looks good and all, but it doesn't look like I'll buy it unless once it comes out it convinces me.

I've seen the trailer. Want the game but can't afford a PS4.

Have you seen footage of the full Tokyo track?

Yeah, I saw the tournament thing they did on the live stream with MX5 NDs. The circuit does have key elements from the C1 & Shinkanjo, more C1 outer route however. It looks good, but it's shorter, doesn't have cherry blossoms and isn't the actual C1.

[Although A+ for effort to PD.]

Is there some sort of law preventing them from doing a perfect copy of the expressway?

Ahahaha, I wouldn't be surprised if there was. I'd assume it's because they don't want people to race on GT and then want to go race the real C1. [Although it happens anyway.]

I don't think there's any legal issue at play. Afterall, the Nordschlief is a public road, and there are many street circuits in video games....they could just make the entire C1 a "closed circuit", and that should solve any "don't do this at home" angles.

There's also other games like TXR, Midnight Club, etc, which feature street racing in real life locations. So again, as long as there is a disclaimer at the start of the game, shouldn't be an issue.

I think the biggest issue is the amount of data it would take to model it properly. For pCARS, the devs specificly said they didn't do any street courses like Long Beach, Macau, or Pau because of how much detail is involved. Everything from the road itself - various surface types, bumps, rises, dips, the crowning of the road, man hole covers, traffic lanes, etc, are all complex to model, and all feature different textures and grip levels. Then there's the actual environment itself. Some of the sight lines are huge, and the amount of background detail is emmense. The way light reflects off of different buildings, with all their different textures and surfaces would be complex to model. Same thing goes for all the small details, like road signs, traffic lights, street lights, mail boxes, store fronts, hot dog carts....all of that would be intense to model.

SSR5 and Tokyo R246 are actually incredibly good for a PS3 model. I think right now the options would be to stay with that size of track and increase the detail, or make the track bigger but keep the detail the same - and I think we all know by now that PD likes to stress about little details instead of turning a blind eye to them in favour a "bigger maps".

The bright side at least is that PD is aware that there is demand for this type of environment though. Hopefully this is just a start :)

Yeah, you're right there. At least now we have a C1 style track with day/night cycle. :D

Although the way I always see it is, graphics don't make a game, [To an extent.] the content does.

100% agree...Kaza for president  In the grand scheme though, we're a minority :(

Also, I'm hoping for not only a full day night cycle, but dynamic weather as well. PCARS has dynamic weather on all tracks, I think AC does as well (although AC doesn't have a full 24hr cycle on any track, which is a shame). If most tracks don't have full weather and time cycles, GT will be the laughing stock of the next gen console racers.

Damm, if PD have dynamic weather on the Tokyo Expressway track, it'll be the only game to have a highway track and weather on it since TXR3 I think. :D

Also rain to the max + C1's closest neighbor = FUN TIMES. :sly:

Do you happen to have a link to that MX5 race that you mentioned? I'd love to see it.

All this talk of highway racing is getting me amped  I've been living the pCARS life (side note, I feel that game has taken my driving and tuning to the next level ...the kid is gonna be fire in the next GT :sly: ), but over the long weekend I may have to fire up the 'ole PS3 and go for some Wangan runs.....although, I've been telling myself I need to get back into Dragon Age and Fallout, so we'll see I guess. I'll probably just end up doing more races in my trusty AMG GT3 and Sierra Cosworth :)
