Do you happen to have a link to that MX5 race that you mentioned? I'd love to see it.

All this talk of highway racing is getting me amped  I've been living the pCARS life (side note, I feel that game has taken my driving and tuning to the next level ...the kid is gonna be fire in the next GT :sly: ), but over the long weekend I may have to fire up the 'ole PS3 and go for some Wangan runs.....although, I've been telling myself I need to get back into Dragon Age and Fallout, so we'll see I guess. I'll probably just end up doing more races in my trusty AMG GT3 and Sierra Cosworth :)

Here it is.

*sigh*

Almost wish I didn't watch that  I'm already picking it apart....

5 laps in 8 minutes....sub 2 minute lap times in MX5s, you weren't kidding when you said it's shorter.

They used the generic PD red/white barriers to block off the on and off ramps....do they realise how many photos those stupid things will ruin??? Same with the tents in the "pits" and the grid markings at the start line.

I hope that we can run the line going the other way too...looks like majority of it is modelled, and the scenery is the same....would be a total waste to not include it (Suzuka West or Tsukuba Short ring any bells??).

Overall it looks pretty good...but so does lots of PD stuff...devil is always in the details.

The only silver lining I can think of is that since this is just GT Sport, maybe this track is like a Clubman Route 5, and there's a larger version of it still to come in GT7. We'll see I guess.

It's a start though. I hope by the time I die I can get a chance to play a game that has the full Shotuko, with PAs. FFS, it's a piece of automotive history that should be preserved forever in the digital realm - just like the Nordschlief, 1960s Spa, Isle of Mann TT, Targa Florio, etc.

/rant over :P

The real question here is, how can you guys tell it's shorter than the real one?

I am going to compare this to the Genki game TXR, the C1 Router Inner and Outer takes at least 5 minutes in a fully tuned car, though, in the beginning of the game it takes forever and your engine heats up.

An average lap of the C1 in TXR3 [Which may be a recreation of the C1, but even that isn't the correct sizing] takes around 4:40.XX I'd predict, in a car with about 400hp and around 1100kg. Where-as GTS' Tokyo Expressway takes less that 2 minutes to get around it in a tuned MX5 ND.

Edit: Lobby's up!

I don't think there's any legal issue at play. Afterall, the Nordschlief is a public road, and there are many street circuits in video games....they could just make the entire C1 a "closed circuit", and that should solve any "don't do this at home" angles.

There's also other games like TXR, Midnight Club, etc, which feature street racing in real life locations. So again, as long as there is a disclaimer at the start of the game, shouldn't be an issue.

Capcom, Taito and even Genki themselves already did that. ;)

They all have versions of it, but none of the games I've played have a full Shutoku. I'm talking C1, Shibuya Line, Shinjuku Line, Shinkanjo Loop (New Loop Line), Wangan, Yokohane, and Yokohama....with all the PAs attatched and driveable. I've yet to play a game where I can actually drive in Daikoku Futo.

We can tell its shorter due to the lap times, and there was a circuit map in the top right corner, which looked nothing like the real thing. I've done at least a few thousand laps around the C1, so I know it pretty damn well....could tell right away that the GTS version is quite far off.

Yep!

It's not that, it's how my editing software thinks my video is broken when it's not and runs fine in other places. I've fixed it now anyway haha.

It's currently processing.

Hello everyone! I've been awfully busy over the past few months and haven't had time to go on GT6, but I did have enough time to watch E3 and get hyped for Forza Horizon 3. So much so that I made a Forza Horizon 2 Hajime Racers club! I also updated the official HR forums too.

The club tag is [HRT~]
