You care because you're a huge Sony fanboy. Look, you can say whatever you want about how it looks now, but in the end its still Halo 3 - it's the most highly anticipated game maybe ever, and going by the first two of the series Bungie isn't going to put out a bad product.

I don't doubt that one bit, I think Halo 3 will be incredibly fun, but it's great that it's so far beneath their promises.

I'll still probably play it, and enjoy it. But let's face it, Micorosft and Bungie can do no wrong right?

Lads, has anyone else noticed most of this guys posts in the 360 forum are SO NEGATIVE!!
Jeremy Ricci is the most negative person on this GTplanet site. I put him on my ignore list last week now I will never have to worry about what he sais ever again. I suggest you do the same. 👍
BTW here is a new Halo 3 video. I am downloading it right now as we speak.

Halo 3 First gameplay. Et Tu Brute? Brute (54mb)

Nah, it's not all negative. I've had high praises for PGR3 and Kameo, as well as many of the wonderful XBLA games (specifically Geometry Wars).

But, the negative will always outshine the positive. Just like I'm sure none of you have noticed the negative things I've said on the PS3 forums about the PS3's services.

To be fair, he hates the PSP, and real Sony fanboys make him look pro-360.

Link(s) please. All I've heard you say is that Resistance multiplayer is great and that's it.

Because I'm extremely tired of "Sony lied". And now, it's just humorous to see people defend Microsoft when they've done it just hte same (even though they've done it a lot in the past as well).

I think the game will be wonderful, but it's good to see some people brought back to earth.

Duck - I'll post links when I find them, or maybe it wasn't on this forum, I can't remember, but I wrote pretty much a huge essay on what's missing and needs to be implemented. I'll find it a little later.

In Jeremy's defense (shocking that I'm the one doing so), I do recall such a post talking about some of the negatives he found with Resistance.

For those of you (Mr. Rici) looking for a further explanation for what's up with the Eh tu, Brute? Doc, I would highly suggest checking out the Bungie.net posting done on the topic, located here.

1. Hay guys! What the hell is up with these graphics?

The graphics you see in the Vidoc are a mixture of things. For one thing, they’re months old. We started creating that doc quite a while back. You’ll see some near final models, some rough character rigs, placeholder lighting and a lot of “sandbox” locations. These are basically spaces that the designers, animators and artists place their models to play around with them.

That’s one reason why there are so many scenes of big empty rooms with crates in them. There certainly are some scenes from the game in there, but alas, none properly lit, textured or populated (yet). That’s why we call it a work in progress. If you’re looking for the final look of Halo 3 campaign, it’s not in there, except in the briefest of hints.

...A good guess is that the character designs we saw being penned by the dude on the computer may be closer to the game in final spec, but I don't see any of the documentary coming anywhere close to final specification.

3. Brutes! Does this mean I will only be fighting Brutes in the next game?

Not at all. The Covenant society has changed since Halo 2 – a civil war between the Elites and the Prophets has caused a deep schism. But Covenant politics are deep and dark and you will fight a wide assortment of villainy. As you saw in the doc, there’s a scene where Grunts are fighting alongside Brutes. Plainly then, the idea that the Covenant has split in cleanly definable ways, is out the window. It’s a religious society and one where passions and faith far outweigh any other consideration. The reason there are so many Brutes in the doc, is that it’s a doc about Brutes…

...I've been crossing my fingers to fight alongside the Elites, and it appears as though it will be the case. Although, I do have my doubts about fighting primarily Brutes in this case. We'll have to wait and see, but Multiplayer on XBOX Live could be interesting between Brutes and SPARTANS.

So in all, it is just a teaser. I think it is pretty cool that Microsoft and Bungie do this from time to time, letting us see how things are progressing. The Bungie blog is usually a pretty good way to get small bits of information at a time, but often can be a "much of the same" posting. It will be interesting to see what the weekly post will entail this week, as it should tell us a bit more about the Doc.

Das ist sie hottness!

...I'm looking forward to the GTP frag-fests, not to mention catching up with some of my old H2 friends that I haven't heard from in a while...

Did you notice the new land mines for vehicles and the bubble shield?? The land mines will be so nice and they even show it in the video. He throws a "trip mine" out at the last second before a warthog runs him over. BOOM!!!
The video is also available on the xboxlive marketplace.

Have any of you seen the videos that are posted at gametrailers.com from the Halo 3 beta???? I am soo excited to play this in 2 days!!! I didnt know you can rip off turrets and carry them around. They also show the bubble shield which allows anything to come in and out and it cant be hurt for a short amount of time. There is also an item that you throw out and it allows you to jump higher. The new spike grenade sticks to anything. The land mine for vehicles and people is just awesome. The Halo 3 beta graphics look very good too. You can see the water respond and ripple when people or objects enter it. :) The game looks and plays a lot different than Halo 2 so it will take some time to get used to.

Damn, I can't believe its already here. The gameplay certainly looks a bit different compared to Halo 2, but not radically different overall. I'm still hoping it will be easy enough to find my friends as it was with its predecessor, as I wouldn't mind reviving some of my Senior-Year-Halo 2-Hijinx.

Looks like Bungie invited a certain amount of people to play the beta early. It was called the "Friends and Family" invitation. (F&F) If you look at other forums and the leaderboards there are already people playing and talking about the Halo 3 beta. :)

12:00am PDT right? That means I'll be out tomorrow morning my end at about 8 am? That's if I've worked it out right - we're 8 hours ahead of PDT at the moment.

I may have to get up early just for it...

According to my computer and the Bungie.net countdown clock, it will be 7AM EST when the game is released. So thats, what, about 12 NOON GMT, 4 AM PDT?

I'm looking forward to it... My skills are going to be VERY rusty for the first few days...

Oh... I thought this was a beta for the whole public no one special... Guess I got that confused.

Well that sucks.. have fun. Looks like I get to wait untill September. :\

And with that i'm off to bed and will be going to school.

Not available through Crackdown yet, but it did download a quick update when I went to check. Maybe the 12:00am PDT mentioned in the article in post #102 is for people getting the code emailed?
