Happy birthday, Kazunori Yamauchi!

From one of your biggest fans. At least what's left of it in Japan, being some 14 hours ahead of us. :P

I know that sometimes it doesn't seem like many people here like Gran Turismo any more, but I'd like to say how much I love this series, including the latest incarnation, And how much I appreciate you as a talented game creator extraordinaire, artist, race car driver, and a unique human being. Keep doing what you've been doing, giving us one of the best racing games on any platform, and have many more birthdays to come.

And just a suggestion, quit smoking, it's much healthier. ;)

Hopefully some others can contribute a much more interesting gif or something here. In the meantime, I'm going to crawl around here a few more minutes and then celebrate by doing some GT6 racing, which I haven't done enough lately.

Happy Birthday Kaz, I forgive you for letting me fail so many exams because of playing your games.

Here's to many more successful years at the helm of PD

(piccie snip - it's right up there, after all)

牛が峰に行くとサル全てが「ブーイング」を言う寧ダナンノンカイ上...
Well, I did say "interesting"...

He got a ride in the NISMO GTR for his Bday!
I spent the day trying to come to grips with some of the crankier cars without using assists, like the Cizeta. No such luck. But with a touch of Traction and ASM it's a blast!

Well, most people here hate him/don't care about him nowadays, so I think it's better if this thread goes unnoticed :)
It's really sad that GT Planet has become The Real Downer Planet. And that it takes one of Kaz's real fans to post a birthday thread. When I came home from my own birthday outing the night before, I thought about making a birthday thread, but I was sure that someone would do a better job of it so I just went to bed. I can hardly wait for fall to come, and these other racers hit the market, so a lot of these pelicans can flock off to those games and it'll be quieter around here.

TBH, Tenacious, maybe the 'thread/discussion/wishes-shout-out' may have been more successful in getting views (and even some well-wishers) in the Gran Turismo section. The Rumble Strip is not exactly the internet's Gran Turismo Fan-base. In fact, if you look around, even GTPlanet is not exactly the Gran Turismo fan-base, having noisier critics than fans, and there are plenty of other sites out there that would be more attuned to the successes of the series than it's shortcomings (which shortcomings I must admit are usually addressed quicker and to better satisfaction than most other franchises do - never mind the dozens of demands thrown at them continually.)
However - having said all that, I thank you for posting this thread. It still brings to mind that there are some of us here that remember some guy called Kaz - who, whatever shortcomings we could find, did give us many hours of enjoyment.
And still, on occasion, does.

I thought of that, but I was sure that someone posted a Happy Birthday Kaz thread in the GT5 section a year or two ago, and it was moved to The Rumble Strip. And I'm pretty sure that was the end of birthday threads outside of TRS, so I thought I'd play it safe.

Anyhow, I had a very GT birthday - mixed with a little steak and Deus Ex 2 - and I'm sure Kaz had a better one, going to Silverstone for a run in the real life NISMO GT-R. :D:tup:
