Has 2012 been good or bad year for you?

2012 has been a mix of good and bad. January started the year off nice, as my second niece was born. My brother-in-law was deployed to Afghanistan in February, on Valentine's Day to be exact, so that caused a lot of the family to be worried. In early March, 6 soldiers from our Regiment were killed, thankfully not my brother-in-law, but 5 of which were his good friends. That really hit home for us, and it took me a while to really get over it.

In July I had my first boyfriend in a long time, then remembered why I'd been single for such a long time and we split up in September, however we're still very good friends and talk most days.

In August I left the army cadets, I enjoyed my time there but with exams I just didn't have the time to go anymore, plus I had an extremely bad time on a training weekend, badly injuring my knee.

My brother-in-law came home in September, which was very relieving. However, in the same month, one of the Corporals from my army cadets sadly lost her boyfriend after he was shot dead whilst trying to help an injured Afghan police officer, who turned on him and killed him and another soldier.

October was a brilliant month as I went to the Gymkhana GRID final! We set off on Friday, and stayed until Monday. I met Paul Smith, Derek 'Buttsy' Butler, Liam Doran, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and of course, Ken Block! Granted, it was absoloutely freezing and I have never been so cold in my life, but it was worth it. Liam also asked me for this photo I took of him at the weekend, which was pretty cool!

November brought my birthday, I finally got a BMX, however the weather has stopped me from using it so far. I'm wanting to learn to BMX, get more active and what not. I'm also wanting to work out and excercise more, simply because I need more muscle rather than just being skin and bone! Has anybody got any decent 15-year-old-friendly work out tips? :P

Bring on 2013!

Reasonable year, left school and started sixth form. This in itself was brilliant as I finally managed to escape from the chavs who I was kinda friends with (very long story but I was kinda their friends but they were also nasty to me) at sixth form met loads of new people and made friends with some people who I knew before but wasn't really friends with.

Karting wise it has gone badly, only done 5 races due to the fact our engine blew up at the begining of the summer. Relationship wise also gone badly (as in I still haven't got a girlfriend.)

Moved up the job chain from paperboy to now working in the shop on Saturdays so ontop of my round means I now earn £40 a year so actually have a decent amount of money I can spend.

My best memory of this year however would strangely be the day of our prom. At school we did the whole signing shirts thing and some hot girls who ignored me all year wrote some genuinely nice things on mine. Then came pre prom, 6 glasses of champagne later and I didn't really care that I didn't have a date so was just chilling talking to people on the double decker bus we hired for the way there. Prom was rubbish but I did manage to talk to some people and just eat lots of food. After Prom Party was good, I technically wasn't invited however some careful persuasion from a mate (the only popular chav who was nice to me.) I managed to get in. Got even more drunk off my face and just chilled in this large tent thing with some girls (nothing happened between us sadly :( ). The best bit is still to come though, we were kicked out by the police (it was 3am in the morning in a terrace house in an estate.). My house is 9 miles from where we were however for some reason me and some other guys (these guys were nice guys) decided to walk some really drunken girls home (being nice lads) and then walk back to ours (about a 12 mile trip.) It took us 5 hours however it was just such an adventure, we were all drunk as a skunk so didn't really feel the pain from all the walking just spent the journey talking, drinking more and smoking. And then to cap it off we came over a large hill just as sunrise happened and just chilled there for a while before embarking on the last leg to our respective homes. Don't know what it was about that night however it just seems to hold some really happy memories.

As levels are going well, not easy by and means however not overwhelming.

EDIT: Bloomin hell that was quite long.

A balanced year. By which I don't mean it's all been plain sailing, some brilliant stuff has happened and some terrible stuff has such as...
I've lost and gained friends and generally speaking my 'reputation' with people has been all over the place.
My anger management issues seem to have got worse, only today I got so intensely stressed I punched a door and my knuckles did not approve :(.
I've gained a raise in my allowance and acquired a debit card so online shopping is a go! :D
But most of all I've gotten more involved on here which is awesome! :dopey:

Walking to school and back everyday (a mile each way). My legs are extremely, how do the youth say these days, dench. :sly:

2012 has been decent.

The bad part is I'm still single.

Now for the good:
1. Survived the first year in my new house without burning the place down.
2. Bought my first brand new car.
3. Fullfilled my 2012 New Year's resolutions to lose money and gain weight, so I can start 2013 with a real sense of accomplishment.

Well, pretty awesome, overall. I'm no longer depressed after a year and a bit of GTP membership, I've been unconditionally accepted to my first choice university in England, got to visit England, and made a few new friends. Oh yeah, I got my driver's license!

Wasn't bad I guess, can't really complain. Not depressed any more, made new friends, worked a lot, learned how to drive a manual transmission, and also decided to go to tech which has made me much happier. Also went to lots of car shows. And dealers. :P

Nothing particularly bad happened that I can think of...

You are going to university here? Good luck and hope you enjoy it. Which university gave you the offer if you don't mind the question?

2012 has been awesome for me, turned 16 back in February and have been having a blast since the start of the year. Made friends with a whole lot of new people(already knew a lot of them, but didn't talk much) and now most people that know me personally would be good friends with me. I feel as if everyone in our Year has gotten a lot less awkward outside their little circle of friends, myself included.

Our trip to Spain involving the football team, which Matty(GTP user) was also on was epic in every single way.

Camping at the start of the summer, which was all drink and girls, I enjoyed it...:sly:

And the Debs(Prom to all you weirdos :P) which was the same as above, except in a hotel.:P

Has 2012 been a good year for me?

Im kidding...

It's been a great year...

Favorite moment has to be my trip to Dubai. :dopey:

Lots of work throughout the whole year, but it paid of in an all-inclusive trip to Dubai, by Samsung. :)

Other big ups has been the victories against Liverpool, Chelsea and now City in the league.

Biggest downs this year is of course losing the league title in May.

 We say 'hench' at my school. I walked home from school the other day actually, it's only a 2 or 3 mile walk. My legs are still screaming and I now walk like my legs aren't fully attached to my body. /unfit

Well, this year was a good year. Probably the best I've had since 2008. I may not have passed the school year, but loads of people in my school fail so it's not embarrassing. I did more live performances this year than I have done other years, and almost all went well. My music skills have doubled performance/ability wise, and gone up again composition wise. What else happened this year? I got a girl friend; dumped girlfriend; became a Brony (which is actually part of the reason for my new interests in playing more instruments believe it or not.), subsequently aged 2 steps forward and one step back. Didn't have any bad friend drama's, just me poking fun at them and them returning the favour. So pretty much over the course of this year, I have bettered myself more than most would notice. So a good year. :D

And also got more into bikes and ATV's, and pretty much most kinds of motorsports or things involving a moving vehicle on dirt. ;)

Pretty bad overall. I know it's not good to live a life of regret, but I can't run away from the truth.

My education went 2 levels closer to the drain, I'm getting progressively more tired of my boss and her unruly demands, dropped $400 on 1/8th scale statues I no longer want, blew about $300 on toy cars I really shouldn't have bought, didn't draw as much as I wanted, am not driving enough to build driving experience, and didn't learn to slide on a longboard like I wanted-pretty much stopped skating as often after I took a fall from a wobble, and now scared to go down slopes and wasted a ton of money on safety gear I stopped using after one morning.

The only good thing is that I've learned new things out of my hobbies, finally got my G1 license, moved my workstation to the unused room, and built a few things for myself.

I think my 2012 was OK. Could have been better.

I cut my hair for the first time in 4 years.
I admitted that I'm an alcoholic and I'm still fighting a losing battle.
I saw my family for the first time in 4 years, that was nice.
Lost some old friends but gained some new ones.
Opened two restaurants.
Travelled to some cool places in Asia.
Other stuff that I won't bore anyone with.

Mix of both. I got my first job. Quit drinking and any drugs. Starting to feel more responsible. On the other hand I drink a lot of Pepsi and not a great food diet.

Mixed. In the beginning I quit a god paying job due to getting burnt by acid several times. Blew a head gasket in my exs car, scrapped my first car. Then I payed my exs way in to college, proposed, and was engaged. Then after three and a half years she left me. I became a bit of a drunk, got a job at our local Walmart and bought a cheap pos Corolla. I am now moved out, fighting the drink and getting a job at one of Ohio's casinos. Overall this year has been meh.

2012 wasn't without it's downfalls but overall it was pretty good.

I lost my grandpa in August and him and I had always been close so that was pretty hard on me.

But the good...
  • I managed to get a new, real, full time job at an excellent company doing something that I really like.
  • I did more traveling than I have in a long time, most of it was for work but I still managed to get out of Michigan. I went to California and saw Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Parks, went to San Francisco and put flowers in my hair, saw the Detroit Tiger play playoff baseball in Oakland, CA, saw the golf courses of Monterey, drove the Pacific Coast Highway, watched motorcycles race at Laguna Seca and saw War with Cheech and Chong in concert. I finally managed to go and slay the Dragon in Tennessee and North Carolina. I went to Columbus and hated it. I also explored Michigan some more and went to Traverse City again, which is always fun. The most recent travels have been in Madison, WI.
  • I moved into my own place.
  • I finally got my racecar running and did my first race with it. I came in dead last but still had a ton of fun.

Mostly bad. Very bad in many ways. Probably one of the worst years I have had. Very depressing. :guilty: I really cant even think of many positive features of 2012. 2013 might be even worse but that will be maybe discussed next year. :ill:

Can't complain, been losing some weight, and getting a little more exercise. Extended family's been in good heath and usually in good spirits.

I'm watching my kids grow up, both becoming more mature every day; I see them on Skype and witness their growth every weekend. My son talks more now, and my daughter and I can actually hold a conversation together. My wife's done a great job instilling her love of reading, and I encourage her drawing, both of which have improved immensely over the past year.

Did more travel, saw more places, went through 20 different states for work, clinched more status freebies with airlines and hotels, and took bunches of photos. 38 states and 600+ counties is the total tally now.

Got to meet two more GTPlaneteers! Sage and TheBook, along with Famine back in '10.

On the negative side, I'm not sleeping as well as before, and seem to be under the weather more than last year. Travel has its bugs. Our cat died back in April, which was a downer...wished he could have enjoyed eating and playing in those final 2-3 months, but he just preferred to sleep much, much more.

Actually that reminds me. I did get to meet a fellow GTPer, Sureboss, this year (once again, thanks for helping out at my old house) and I also lost a stone in weight after my detox and diet change at the beginning of the year. All good, except I went down a size in my shirts and jeans and had to buy enough new clothes to even impress Cody. ;) Had to buy a new tuxedo this week as well as I could almost turn around in my old one.

My friend started saying it and then I picked up on it, same with the word 'peng'
It'll be like that for a bit of time until you get used to it.

Overall, pretty good. No immediate family deaths, though did lose an uncle to cancer this summer. Still sad at not being able to even go to the viewing, much less the funeral, but that's the price I paid for moving out of the old city.

Which was one of the single biggest changes this year, and I don't regret that. Living in Toronto again makes me much happier, despite this whole going back to school business meaning money is much tighter. I live in a wonderful, fast-improving neighbourhood with lots of interesting places nearby, as well as a good chunk of friends living within a 10-minute walking radius. Moving in with my girlfriend was a big step, but it's gone all too well; both of us are still a bit surprised by that.

Had an incredibly hard summer job to help finance this move and the school year, and while there was a small dark spot in early August where I burnt out pretty badly for a week there, it was otherwise... tolerable. The part-time job I've got now with some friends is great, and we're getting recognized on a city-wide level, which is cool.

The packed schedule means I don't get to do personal things as much as I did before (Rev Issue 02 still sits, being developed), and it hasn't been kind to my diet (the nearby pizza place recognizes me), but overall, I'd definitely say this has been a good year 👍

2012: Has been good. :)

Finished college, now waiting for my tittle documents, got a job pretty soon, have the love of a beautiful lady (not yet a couple, but almost), got my 1st kiss from her... I can't ask anything more from life :)👍...

...Except making official my relationship with her ;)
