That the Prius G Hybrid model moves on its own if you let off the accelerator? While its doing so it also gets 99.9 mpg, Although its only going 4mph.

Discuss?

A few cars do this, all of which have some sort of "automatic" transmission, just like a real car would. The most obvious are the ones that have a CVT, including the Prius, and also the Honda Fit, among others. Then I think at least one of the Jaguars has some sort of quickshift thing that makes it so the same thing. And there are more, I'm sure.

The Prius has no Tranny when its stock though. I'll check out the fit in an hour or so, my ps2 started making funny noises with the fan. So I turned it off.

Well, it has a tranny, but it doesn't use gears that combine to make different ratios like conventional trannys do.

The Jags happen to have a properly represented automatic transmission.

The reason you can't sit still when off the brakes is because they wanted to make it act like a slushbox proper. Why they didn't do this for other cars is beyond me... Automatics shift instantly, so that would be a big boon to the Lexus GSes.

That's what I noticed too...the Jaguar S Type R I drove about a month ago shifts like a real automatic instead of like a manual that's being shifted automatically.. Such cars as the Chrysler 300C and Taurus SHO that only have automatics in real-life should also shift like this but they don't. :grumpy:

Also, in GT1, I remember all the cars shifted like automatics even if you use MT. In other words, when you shift gears, it doesn't seem as if the clutch is truely disengaging the tranny from the engine in GT1. Instead, there is a smooth shift like an auto would perform.

Also, if you through a turbo on the Audi R8 (Le Mans quattro), it'll actually accelerate through corners, with no throttle imput. counterproductive, but interesting nonetheless.

That's the ASM that's doing that, not the turbo, and not just the R8 either. It's been well documented here in the past.

Hehe, the Prius will go around the Ring in something like 1=>1.5 hours (if I remember right). I just had to keep my eye on the driving line and turn the wheel every now and then.

Cheers,

MasterGT

As in...full throttle+full lock steering styled acceleration? I've never had that happen on any other car, and I leave ASM on alot, sometimes, out of forgetfulness to change it.

once it did the same with one my cars( dont remeber wich one) ( i do mean that when im not pressing the accelerator it kinda goes by it self ) then i removed the controller and put in my newer one stoped at once....

I can see a spot race challenge now...

New Prius VS Old Prius, at the ring, who can get around faster AND keep mileage.

Ill take the new Prius if anyone wants to take the old one.
with or without the synergy drive though?

With the Synergy Drive of course! How else are you gonna be a hypermiler?

The old one does have that, right? I just bought it.

I did a 10:15 around the Nür in the new Prius awhile ago. It has a high drag setting just for kicks. You can tell how bored I was.:indiff:
