This is really only about my 2nd (proper) attempt at HDR.... I find its all a bit like 'witchcraft' and am still trying to understand how it all works :dunce:

^ looks ok when you big it up.

the very most important rule in HDR "for me" is to keep the exposures at the same lvl - and + ... sample : 5 pcis 1 with standard expo . 2nd minus 1 , 3rd minus 2 , 4th plus one , 5th plus 2 . :)

by the way , nice beetle :D

^^^ Amazing my friend. Great toning and the saturation is just perfect.👍

Thanks Fido :) much appriciated.....I think that might inspire me to continue to pursue this HDR 'work of the devil' stuff :scared:

Cheers nanabu... sound advice.

So after looking at all the imaging wizardry happening here, I decided to give it a bash myself. Any helpful hints & tips would be most appreciated(Not sure im doing any of it right anyway)👍 :D

The first one is good, but the second one seems a bit flat (maybe because of matte paint), what exposure levels are u using?

I noticed mattes dont translate too well. I used -2 to +2(in increments of 1 and 1/2. Should I increase the range?

Well, i take 7 shots, (-3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3), but i think you might need to adjust photo for contast brightness and so on, what program are you using?

@AstonMartinDBR9, shot for the tips. Looks like your exposure range works for me:tup:

Had another go at it:

Think the GTR might need a bit more work...

I think of the three, the GT-R is the best one as the colours are not too bright and the car blends in to the background nicely with the filter.

So, I think I found my problem. My monitor doesn't display the pics properly( I use an old CRT @ work:dunce:....yes, I know:)). Nevertheless, I still attempted some more:
