^^^ I just knew before hand where and type of shot I wanted. As you said there is a limited amount of daylight so it's basically trial and error. If you can't get the shot you desire before nightfall then hit "o" and go back in and retry. Good luck!

Here is another portion of HDR's :dopey:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am seeing a lot of FANCY pictures in here, but I am missing the HDR part... HDR doesn't mean saturated colors, and fancy reflections.

It Means HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE... which I am not seeing in a lot of the pictures in here. I do see Dynamic range, but its extremely low, with a LOT of shadows, in places where HDR would show detail.

I don't know if it is an oversight, or if some of these photos have bad cutoff on the originals, but some of the photos fail to entice me to make some of my own.

HDR is only a name of technique which depends only on your own creativity and what you want to show. Saying that HDR have only one and only look and it should look like that is wrong. This is only a tool. Maybe you could show us some bad (in your opinion) HDR's on previuos pages.

Nah... I have been down that road before. Pointing out which ones are "BAD" is subjective... since a lot of people have no clue what HDR even means. I would say the average person you find walking on the street has heard of HDR, and likely thinks its a filter on Photoshop... even worse some of them think it makes everything Supersaturated and glowy... for a neat effect.

I will agree that there are to types of HDR, TRUE HDR will join 2 or more exposures at different Exposure levels, and then compress them until the shadows and highlights are more closely visible.

HDR ART, is a form that expands and multiplies color, along with deep shadow detail, usually ignoring highlights.

I myself do a lot of HDR, in both types, so I can tell when either people don't understand the process, or when maybe they need a little help...

przemekszulim... your top down Audi Shot is a prime example of a solid TRUE HDR, and I really dig it...

I haven't looked through all the previous 60 pages, but I have looked at a few pages, and on the pages I did view at least 2 people didn't understand what HDR is... or how to do it.

Perhaps someone might share a tutorial?

Okay, I'm asking because I'm newbie in HDR processing and I want to learn something new from person which has way more experience than me.
I have the same feeling like you, that some of those pics in this topic, completly miss the point about what HDR is.
