off topic but,

170 will have interior view that will also have damage rendering

the other 830 vehicles will also have damage but no interior views. This is because they are pre-GT5:P, hence pre-interior views. (i think)

Perhaps the Eye will detect head movement and the response in the game would be a movement at a higher ratio. Whatever the angle of your head is will be 1/3 or something of the actual camera motion of the driver in the game, so you don't run the risk of turning your head away from the screen. As a result, perhaps you can personalize the rate of tracking. 1:1, 3:1, 5:1, 10:1, etc.

I remeber long long long long time ago I posted this IDEA with PS3 eye as soon there were first news of PS3 EYE head tracking software... I wonder if PD read my thread or post!

Can someone find it? I suck with search function!

The question is will triple screen be supported and also work with this, now that would be impressive!!!!

I hope they have included triple view to keep up with FM3
Ive even bought the extra consoles in readyness for my new d.i.y cockpit.

Since GT4 supports triple views- just like FM3 (and 2), you needed 3 PS2 and 3 copies of the game- it wouldn't be presumptous to expect GT5 to have the same feature.

3 monitor setup, You won't really need the EYE track.. But it would be nice.. But since we have EYE track head movement, why do we need 3 monitors?

I play on PC with one 26 inch monitor and with Track IR, it seems for me silly to invest in 3 screen setup.. it would be too expensive compared to this little fun and immerse device.

Very excited about this feature. I can finally look through a corner now.

Anyone else excited about this feature?

Look at the very last sentence of the press release today.

Yes I'm very excited. I use a TRACKIR for my pc SIMs and it's about time someone in the console market decided to use similar tech. All I will need is the PS Eye. Cool!

Head Tracking is basically the Eyecam tracking your head movements. Let say you are looking straight on and hear someone trying to make a pass behind you, you see them in your rear view mirror and you hit the brakes before the turn and your opponent dives into your right or left side but you can't see them in your rear view mirror any more. What do you do? you look left or right with your head but keep your eyes still focused on the TV monitor but the cockpit view camera will follow your head movement so that you can either look at the side mirrors to your left or right or tilt your head future so that you can see the side of your car looking out the side window. This gives you the view of the look left or look right buttons without pressing the directional buttons only by moving your head. THIS IS GREAT!!!!!!

I don't see why not if it will helps sell more PS3's. Didn't they even have that big screen feature where you can connect as many as 8 or something to build like an IMAX screen projection?

I have brought up this many times in the last couple years, glad they have included it. :D

Time to get a PSEye

I think it is a great idea, honestly that was one of the better features on the list, and one i did not expect, it will slove the camera view positioning issue in gt5 quite well, hey in fact what if they do it so that you have to callibrate it, and if you move your chair closer to the screen after callibration it will move the seat forward ingame. Is the tracker only 2 dimensional or 3, the third being closer and further from TV?
My only gripe is that on the videO demonstrating tracking on ps3, there was a noticeable delay, this delay might even get worse when ps3 has to calculate gt5 as well, all this and i won't even bring up input/output lag.....

Im not sure you can use the video as a base. It did a very good job in opening up my eyes to the 3D capabilities of head tracking, but he was using a PC and a Wii app he developed. I dont think there is a direct connection that can be made as far as performance goes.

I don't see any delay from the moment it's calibrating to when the guy was moving his head around although did stop working when he moved his head out of the PS eye view. The eye tracking is still being refined by Sony and I doubt Sony would release a gaming device that has a noticeable delay. Btw, the PSeye tracks in 3D.

oh man this is prolly the best feature that has been implemented in any racing game in ages...this + damage = holy batman on a bat-pogo stick, I'm sold!

I guess it's time to change my signature, Polyphony is finally on the verge of delivering big time.

There is loads of delay, at a few points he was looking one way will the thing was still pointing the other, And at one point he turns his head sharply and it takes at least half or more of a second to react.

Maybe a stupid question. But if i turn my head to look right or left in the game, how can i see my TV screen ? Or is it just tracking minor movements wich result in major movements ingame?

Thats right, just like the TrackIR used on PC's, at first it is a little odd but soon it feels very natural. On PC you configure it how sensitive you want.

Nice!
Still for a PSeye collecting dust somewhere. So definatly gonna give it a try.

Finally My PS Eye will get some use!! I like this feature a lot.. Now I will use interior view as well a lot more.. :) I cant wait to see how this works out! 👍 Seen it in action on a couple of games... Found this as well.. I assume it will work similar to this but hten without the hat he's wearing, relying completely on the PS Eye....

(Bumped cause the search function works)

I noticed no one is talking about this today after the front page post.

Is no one excited for this? I for one think its very interesting concept. Now will it work at home is the next question. I have a PS-Eye already, so I dont have to pay anymore out of pocket, so no loss there.

Whats is everyone elses thought on this.

Untill I see a working demonstration my enthusiasm is tempered with guarded skepticism.

This is all going to depend on how well it's implemented. It seems to me this is the kind of thing that could easily go wrong. Even slight amounts of lag or "false" interpretations of my head movements would completely ruin the entire experience.

I think this feature is either gonna turn out to be amazing that I will use often, or something that I'll try a few times, wish it worked better, and then turn it off.
