Signed up for Miatas at Mazda Raceway in October 3-4th. This event usually sells out within 10 hours. I can't wait to drive the corkscrew and turn 9 again.

Hung out at the racetrack yesterday with a few friends. Did a ride along in a pretty clean NA thats been swapped with an NB VVT.

My car is looking pretty sorry on street tires/wheels.

I was able to do a ride along in the rain. It was fun sliding around.

Installed the super rare non-P/S AC belt tensioner bracket.

Rack is installed, now I just need to hook up the tie rods and put the little things back together.

Might buy a set of these lights depending on price. I can't see anything with the lights I have currently.

Would be interested to hear your feedback on the non-PAS steering. I've only ever driven one MX-5 without PAS, but it was quite a while ago (way before I owned my first MX-5) so I can't remember much about what it was like.

It's going to take some getting used to, especially while parking. I haven't been able to drive it hard yet so not much comment there. We will see after the track day this weekend.

Well Buttonwillow was eventful. Was planning on lots of rain so all I brought were all seasons. Figures that the first two sessions were dry so I was sliding around a lot.

Ended up having a big off at Phil Hill (blind crest) and pitching it sideways into the mud and de-beading a tire.

Managed to borrow some wheels for the back from one of the sponsors. Another friend's car blew a heater hose so I was able to use his fronts which had good tires as well. Second session went much better, and I kept it on track. Then the borrowed right front lost air pressure...

Pumped it back up and it managed to hold pressure for the third session, which was when the downpour started. Best time of the day was a 2:14.7, about 3 seconds off my PB. Hopefully I'll get some on track pics to show later today.

For a moment I thought Napoleon Dynamite was racing your car. "Sweet!"

But no, it's just a turn signal.
