Ffffffffhhh thats a nice butt

So would you get rid of the fast back or try to add the tail to it?

I wouldn't expect a long tail to look very good with the spoiler of the short one, but if the spoiler could be taken off from the fastback, the combination of the fastback and a long tail would probably look brilliant.

I'd keep the fastback. I think modifying the trunk panel to remove the spoiler would be the best bet. All I would need is a little gurney flap at the trailing edge. I could always add a massive GT wing for high downforce tracks.

Went over to 949 Racing yesterday to try on some new shoes. 15x10 +25 6ULs on 245 width Maxxis RC-1s. They look great! It was a bit too damp to drive around on them, but the car looks great. I might need to buy a set in bronze.

I think I might like those even more than the Wats.

Those weigh something like 13lb each, there's a reason so many people use them. Looks great.

Haha really? They are pretty aggressive. They remind me of one of the wheels McLaren used a few years ago.

Indeed! The x10s are a bit heavier, but still around 13-14lbs. The 4th generation will be flow formed and even lighter, while being more durable.

Did you have the OEM one off before? Locktite on re-installation? If they don't have some sort of thread locker on them they tend to back out.

I've changed the timing belt twice without using locktite. Three out of the four bolts actually sheared off.

That actually looks like it's in very good shape.

And I love the interior, for some reason...
Yeah its in great shape. There are a few issues that need to be sorted. The tint looks awful and will be redone, the speedometer is off by 25mph and the leather needs some good conditioning. The paint is really nice though.

Got any power to back that name up? :P

Nice choice regardless, not sure on the colour combo. I guess it is period correct though.

Red interior.....welcome to the 80's/90's. :P

I absolutely hate red interior, glad they don't hardly offer it anymore.

It has 4 camshafts! haha. I may wrap the exterior, but I really like the red interior. Super rare option with a low take rate.

@Doog probably approves of the car and color scheme.
Next thing you know the LS400 will be turned into a racecar and you'll get a ls430 as a daily

Love it.

Interior is brilliant too. Vibrant interiors are what modern cars are missing.

Drove one of these last year. Very fond of them myself and low prices mean they're tempting in the UK too, even given our fuel prices.

One thing I've always wondered about these first-gen LS400s: how's the power feel with 250hp and the four-speed auto? I've heavily considered an LS400 for my next car but've only really looked for the '98-'00s for fear that the older ones might feel disappointing compared to my dad's LS430.
