One thing I've always wondered about these first-gen LS400s: how's the power feel with 250hp and the four-speed auto? I've heavily considered an LS400 for my next car but've only really looked for the '98-'00s for fear that the older ones might feel disappointing compared to my dad's LS430.

It feels quicker than the numbers convey, that's for sure. Gets to freeway speeds without having to try very hard, it just kind of wafts.

Finally bought a daily. I christen it Yamato, as it's a large Japanese boat.

Its a 1990 model LS400. 164k miles, 4.0l V8 32 valves. I absolutely love it. So comfy and well built.

Cool car!!

I was craigslist window shopping for an LS400 last week, they are fun to watch autocross in stock form

Three piece Work Meister's with polished lip and black center.

Although those r33 wheels are some of my favorites of all time.

There are so many routes I can go with on this car. I'm excited to start building it.

Junction Produce has so much cool stuff...

That's like brand new.
Yeah! I found in the service book that the car originally came from Indiana, and those owners moved out here to California in the early 00's. Timing belt sticker shows it was done only 20k miles ago, so I'm in good shape.
