cologne is ~1hour away from me with/by the train
XD i will be there and i will play the gt5 demo for the first time
i am so happy xd
👍

In this thread you can find more information and indicate on which day(s) you plan to attend. :)

Hey Famine, will you be using the GTP twitter account or do you have your own?

Also I wish you all the best, would add to the fund but have been unable to get a job over the summer!

Is there a link to Famine's twitter.

Seing that there's a surplus of donated funds at the moment, there's a loop of unrestricted road about 30 miles south of Cologne where GT5's realism could be tested in an interesting back to back comparison. Or was that part of the plan anyway?

My question to Kaz.

Kazunori, we know since GT2 that you have an interest in making Rallying an integral part of the game, my question is ; with the acquisition of the WRC license will GT5 feature true point to point rallying (like Pikes Peak in GT2 for example) ? Thank you.

Maybe GTP could hold a "Win A Copy Of GT5 Standard Edition" Contest.

Could you ask Mr. Yamauchi at gamescom if there will be any 3rd person view rotating camera? you know that rotating camera, like in Forza Motorsport games. I would love to see something like that implemented in GT5 and i think i'm not the only one :) Those cars look to gorgeous and it will be nice if we could see them from every angle, anytime we want. So please, ask this if is possible :)

 👍 DO IT.

For the end of the interview I think this is the appropriate question, just to make Kaz a little bit relaxed :)

Questions to Kaz:

Next to the carwash for the cars' exterior, will we be able to clean the cars' interior in GT5? My car tends to get dirty from smoking and dust and messy from candy bar wrappers and stuff like that. And where can I empty the ashtray? :sly:

Good question. But I think something tells me that the GT licence modes will include some NASCAR lessons. But as long they explain the NASCAR rules, I will be happy.

For clarity:
Will there be a stock car based GTAcademy where the winner gets a ride in an official NASCAR series?

Are you saying get to start racing in the series or get to ride shotgun?

Racing: There is no way in hell that would happen.

Ride: Maybe shotgun for a few laps around the track.

I agree with Captain Roh. The questions shouldn't be game related. The questions should be refreshing and not generic so that Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi feel relaxed and not get bored. He'll probably look further to future gtplanet interviews if it all goes well. Ranko_SD's suggestion is an excellent example. I hope you guys ask him, I love Trial Mountain.

My question for Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi-
Now that you have some real life racing experience, would you ever consider a full time racing career? If so, what racing league would you like to race in and why?

@Famine and the gang
I hope you guys have a great time.

Well, I have a question:

GT has always been about being as close to reality as possible. With consoles getting more and more powerful, you can include more real life aspects into the game. But how do you make sure the game advances in realism but remains approachable to the casual audience?

By having standard and professional modes.

:irked:👍

And I'm not even japanese.

Good luck on the drive out boys, don't forget my keyring.
Have fun, and bring back a suitable trophy for UKGTPXIV.

I'm hoping to bring back another attendee...

He won't mind Roo swearing because he won't understand it. Unless translator-san is there.

Hey could you ask Yamauchi about the field of view?

Because it's wrong, especially in the chase cam and bumpercam its zoomed in, that takes much of the sense of speed away , and isnt really realistic.
It's the same effect like in a shooter , if you zoom through the scope and run at same speed it seems slower because of the wrong vision.
Oh and why they changed the chase cam the one in GT3 was way better.
Don't know if these questions worth to ask , but for me it is ;)

I wouldn't say that getting an actual race seat would be out of the question, granted it wouldn't be near the top but I could see maybe getting a Modified or Camping World East/West(cars, not the trucks) ride.

Now for on-topic.

Are there any plans for an official GT community like Sony has set up for other games?

Guys PLEASE PM me if a live stream does show up tomorrow. (going to be late from work and don't want to waste time for a serch ;) )

Do you mean [WIKIPEDIA]Depth of Field[/WIKIPEDIA] or [WIKIPEDIA]Field of View[/WIKIPEDIA]? It seems like you meant the latter.

The sensation of speed in a game is incredibly subjective (although the back-to-back comparisons of various FOV settings are usually self-evident) - as such, I think it might be beneficial to allow setting the FOV according to personal taste, especially now that face-tracking is available (effective or otherwise.) The irony is that having a custom FOV will mess up the DOF effect (at least as it was in GT5:P) since it seems to be based on a fixed screen-width / FOV setting, and errors are visible, when replay cameras zoom in and out, on things like overhead cables, e.g. at Eiger.

So your question about custom FOV would be welcomed by "serious" gamers, and is a source of credibility for the sim crowd. I don't really care too much, so long as I can see where I'm going :dopey:

oh yeah !! thanks for correcting me !
I mean the FOV , I think it's wrong as I said above :)
and the idea of a custom FOV would be a perfect solution 👍
Hope that it can be asked :)

I don't think this has been asked, but it would be good if you could ask about 180 steering animation.

I was actually thinking about the future of the series. So something like what is the philosophy used on how to keep the simulation guys happy without alienating the general public.

Are you insane? I don't think that will be in the game! I don't want to be paying for that damage!

lol...true. But cars did rattle and shake in GT4 if you used the wheel. I remember trying to max out the Viper GTS and it starting to shake at 248mph...in the middle of the corner. So, who knows, maybe premium cars will start littering the track with parts. I mean, the Veyron IS limited to 258mph 'cause....well, the SS is limited 'cause the tires can't handle too much more speed, and because the car would shake itself apart at over 300mph.

Questions for Kaz: Is it possible to incorperate the ability to have someone online be the co-driver in a rally car and have them read out the directions for the track? Or in a similar situation, have online endurance races with teams of people, like in reality, and have stints/driver changes? The inclusion of 32 player lobbies and spectator mode would allow for, say, 8 teams of 4, with 8 people on track and 24 people spectating at all time.

Awesome idea. I might add that there could be remote drivers available for endurance events.
