Why in the mind of a great part of GTPlanet users always GT gets delayed by others games sales health ?

GT aren't the Sony's best-seller franchise for nothing... why others games can't get delayed in order of GT5 ? :]

because sony and KY do whats best for the group not what is best for the one thing. with sacrafice comes great rewards. in there case more money.

I would say November 2009 would be better than December, because here in the States the Christmas rush gets heavy during December, and many people would be put off from buying the game by all the crazy crowds and whatnot. It would give the game an opportunity to have all its launch hype up to a month before the Christmas craze gets really bad, and then of course it would still be selling strongly throughout that season too.

Yes, i allready know that, but my point is; Most of you think that is better delay GT and release other game first. But, if launch GT5 first is better for Sony ?
As i said before, the GT franchise isn't the Sony's best-seller for nothing...

I wi'll use a exemple(assuming that GT5 is ready to launch at any time as Kazunori said), Sony have to choose from two first-party games to go for sales, GT5 and MAG.
In that case, take GT5 to stores first is better for Sony, in order to play MAG, you'll need a internet connection on your PS3. And you all know that a LOT of people don't have a internet connection on the PS3 and it WILL affect the sales.
We can't forget that GT allready has a solid base of fans and it sucsses is for shure, and don't matter if the game is bad (joke ?), at least 1~2 millions of copys is secured.

Where is the never option because Kaz is too busy polishing the game to ever actually release it?

October 2009 - GT for PSP
End of November/beginning of December 2009 - GT5 Japan
March/April 2010 - GT NA/Europe/AUS

I thought it was going to be a worldwide release as stated(kinda) in Amar's post.

I dont think we will hear any official talk ot release dates until TGS, mainly to get some focus on GTmobile.

Release date announced Nov/Dec.

3 reasons, thats around the time Amars post suggests, they wouldnt let him sort of make the announcement with out it being accurate, imo.

I would like it around that time, just because!!! Think we have all waited long enough.

Last reason, not really set in stone but i spoke to a mate who works for Sony, and mentioned to him that GT5 was coming Dec 2009, he agreed, i know it dosent mean it will be realased then, but hey im clutching at straws here!!

ps, im hoping on a Dec release, got alot on in November!!!

I´m pretty sure we will get a world wide release at the same date...

And also I think that a good game will sell always... If GT5 and let´s say Uncharted 2 will come in November so I would first buy GT5 and then a month later I will buy Uncharted 2... If it´s in my mind that I want that title 100 percent then I will buy it no matter when...

Maybe it´s a good idea to bring all block busters at the same date?! so the people see this and got no choice and must buy a PS3 :)

I´m no marketing expert so I don´t know if thats bs what I´m writing...

I´m sure we get it on november worldwide...

I'm torn between March 2010 and June 2010. Maybe the June 2010 response could have been "June 2010 or later." To be cautiously optimistic, I'm going to say March 2010. A different scenario could be that E3 2010 rolls around, and we'll have an almost completely concrete look at GT5. If we don't learn anything more between now and (at least) the Tokyo Game Show, then we'll certainly learn more on this title and what to expect by this time next year. The worst-case scenario (to me) would be this game released in November 2010, maybe after Thanksgiving in preparation for Christmas next year.

But if I had to guess right now, March 2010 is a safe pick. However, I am hellishly unsure March 2010 is even a clear date. Even more so if this game is released before March 2010.

no for me no too late...
the only thing now that stop PD to release the game is SONY and the psp go....

two month after the gtmobile will be enough to let gt5 came out...this its my point of view...

First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time.

My thoughts exactly. I voted for december (late november or early december). :)

I voted for December 2009, as I have some faith that it will be released this year. I was going to vote for 12th of Never, but you haven't got an option for that!

yes, cuz if they really would want to sell many pspGo, they could put the release on holiday in december... but no!!!... they choose very earlier 1st october, cuz they will let on holiday sell gt5 and many ps3....

I still think December as well, most signs seem to point to it.

When was GOWIII scheduled to be released before it got moved?

Could it have got moved because GT5 was gonna take it's sales away?

Not a chance, 2 completely different games, 2 completely different target markets.

I'll say it will be on shelves late NOVEMBER to early DECEMBER just in time for the X-MAS because it is too big of a title to miss the holiday sales.

I would say Nov '09 because I think that would be the best time to build up momentum for the holiday season. It would give people time to get it and play it, then praise it for the masses who are debating whether to get it for someone for the holidays. It's because of this that I think Dec '09 is too late.

And I don't know why people think March of 2010, seeing as there's nothing going on at all in that time. It's the middle of the first half, so too far from summer gaming, and not close enough for those who get money from the holidays.

You stole my post.
Seriously, I was going to say the exact same thing.
December 09 is too close to the holiday for people to realize it's worth buying, and the other months don't make any sense to me, they're all at the wrong time.

The one thing which makes me question a December release is their current marketing strategy. Right now they are all about the GTPSP and E3 was evident of that. If they are doing everything they can to pump up GTPSP and the PSP Go then when are they going to start hyping GT5's release? Do you think they would announce GT5 in November, giving fans only 1 month to get ready for its release? Wouldn't that have people confused and not give enough time to get the word out? If GT5 is coming out for Xmas then when do you guys think they would make the big announcement? Anyone with any experience with the older GT releases know how late they made an official release date announcement (besides all the pushbacks)? The one thing that makes me question my thought that they need a lot of time to build the release date hype is the fact that Kaz said it will be announced "as a surprise"

I voted March 2010, yes I know that the new GoW is coming out. But they could just release the two at a different time of the month. I think Microsoft has done this a couple times with their titles. This also would probably give Sony a nice boost too for the end of the fiscal year. (Japan's fiscal year ends in March)

Just curious. Do you guys think KY is lying when he says they haven't decided the release date yet? I don't, and that would mean Amar's post is no hint anymore. :nervous:

I don't think so, but it can be also a method to make a big surprise and release GT5 when nobody expects! (Sorry for bad english)

They don't have the kind of luxury that they can just say "The game is out next week" They have to allow at least 3 months for marketing.

For this particular situation, during February and March I was given a strong assurances that work on Gran Turismo is in the final stages and that game will be presented to public in months to come.

So 4 months ago GT5 was in it's final stages

Backs up KY's words that the game is finished and can be released at any time

I dont see a 2010 release unless for some strange reason Sony thinks thats best for the PS3

I have a feeling once they see how low interest is in GT mobile compared to GT5 they will release it this year

March is the end of Japan's fiscal year, they may want to get a boost in sales for the last month of the year.

I personally think that is a bad idea. If it's nearly finished now, why sit on it? I predict an actual announcement at TGS, and a release shortly after. 👍
