the only race i have to do is the Tsukuba Wet Race (Hard) but i can't win it.
maybe some tips?
is there a good wet set-up for the Suzuki Escudo Dirt Trial Car

Way 1) Take a powerful car (any LMP or Group C will do), apply R5 tyres and then just drive it like you stole it. Should work.

Way 2) Take the best-handling rally car (WRC or Group B) you can find, max the power and then apply those R5 tyres. It's possible but you had better be a very good driver.

Way 3) Buy the Chaparral 2J, the "flying chest freezer", and use it for an easy victory.

Forget that Escudo. The turbo lag makes it worthless in this race.

Hope this helps. 👍

or do the way i did. i used the xanavi nismo GTR, R5 tires max downforce and tcs at 7 and it should be an easy 200 points along with a victory.

i used a lancia delta s4 cant remeber what setting but it gave me a lot of a spec points (i think it was 200 but cant be sure) and was a reasonably easy win.

Your only hanging yourself with the Escudo. Do like Greycap said. I beat it with a Toyota GT-One.

Use a less powerful car with sticky tyres, plenty of downforce and lots of Traction Control.
Brake early and take the corners carefully. Laugh at the LMP/Group C car as he slides wide in the corners and lets you pass.
Claim 200 A-spec points.

Use an r33 with max downforce, r5's and the original turbo, also have no more the 2 camber, it will hur you in the wet.

use a less powerful car and pick your lines carefully. you dont need a race car to do it :)

the escudo is next to useless... sell it

Use a 4WD Vehicle with atleast 500HP. Put R5 RSS tires. I used a skyline and a Lancer Evo GTA (The one that is always getting overlooked. It has seamless shifting to give you a big advantage accelerating out of corners, and 276HP stock after oil change or more. ) You can use nitro if you want. Just don't buy a gearbox for the GTA, as it looses its seamless shifting. But buy all the other top performing parts.

I used an mazda rx8 lm edition race car.
works nicely, sticks to the ground, grip is nice with r5 tires :)
was not a simple race but normally you could win it if you can drive a bit

where did you buy/win this Lancer Evo GTA? i can't find it.

It can be found in the Late 90s Used Cars lot, it's available every now and then. The exact name is Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII GT-A '02.

If you find you can't win it no matter how hard you try, there is an easy way to win it, although most people will regard it as a cheat.
Use a fast car, for example an Formula GT, drive the first lap well, then pit (go through the cones), then put the car in B-Spec and watch Bob win the race for you (I know it's not as good as winning it yourself!)

i have a '96 Ruf ctr 2 with 4 wheel drive and 899hp which i used for all of the special condition events up to the hard ones, it is very reliable and has great handling, of courrse, you will need a lot of money to gete ur car as great as mine. and i do suggest playing around with the suspension to make it fit your driving stile.

I used a N/A 320hp Amuse S2000 R1. Just bairly won! 👍

Otherwise in the past I have used any high HP race car and have been able to win with relative ease.

Truth be told, I have to admit winning this particular event through incredibly bad driving. I used the Vertigo, and while tailing the Bentley into the last curve before the long straight, I accidently clobbered the Bentley from behind and forced it into the wall. Now because the surface was wet, the Bentley was unable to gain traction in the grass, and I was given a 9.5 second lead, that held up for the remaining laps.
I am niether proud of this win, nor do I advocate poor driving,(wink, wink) but as they say"Any old port in a storm will do", and at my age, any win is a good one!

C'mon Fangio, you've been playing GT2 (if I interpret Jordan's post correctly). I suspect you've also done GT3 and now you're driving GT4.
You're only a year and a bit older than me.

Will we see you in the 200 point race subforum soon ??
;)

AMG.

OK, I just redid these particular races with the Suzuki GSX/R-4, fully modded on R5 tyres. Truly a walk in the park! In the Hard section I was up against a Sauber C9, and I ended up winning with an over 10 second margin, for a cool 200 A-spec points aswell!

This Suzuki is perfect for all tarmac races in Special Hall.

You really don't need a car as powerful as R92CP,
just use something like a Xanavi Z, which I done it,
and you'd discover that the opponent is crab while the 200 A-Spec points are as easy as pie.

Kind AMG,
'Tis well to find a fellow senior traversing these pages! I must confess, I did not have the pleasure of playing GT3. Too many offspring with their own games, not enough televisions, prevented me from ever competing.
I also found that PC games held a great fascination for me, one especially, Max Payne. And so for a time PS was forgotten. Now that the nestlings have all flown, I have access to the PS2 and this marvelous game. I am not as good as I think I was on the track, but at least here, I don't worry about bending the car!(Although the ego is taking a beating)
With any luck at all, I will accumulate A spec points at a respectable rate, and at least show these youngsters a thing or two!
As always,
I remain,
Enthusiasticaly Yours,
Fangio

I can relate to this. Damn fine game it was (and still is).

As for the wet race, I used a fully tuned Impreza coupe with qualifying tyres, (won by 0.700 seconds), although I tried it later with a fully tuned Honda S2000 and found it suited my driving style better. (won by 4 seconds).

1st attempt - Sauber C9

2nd attempt - Audi R8
