Keep at it for a couple hours, sometimes more than a couple hours. Try and spend as much time on the qualifier as you would during a whole week of play. Sometimes that's only an hour, sometimes that can be almost 10 hours... Sometimes even more! So, I'd suggest at least two hours, maybe even two sessions...?

hmm about that qualify, Can i run a few laps to clock my best lap time or di i have to nail my best try on first lap?? abit confused

You can run it until you're blue in the face, and then save your ghost (Quickest lap), check if it's clean, and submit the time+splits. I made the mistake of submitting my 5th lap, which earned me the 9th-last place in Div3. You can always re-run later, but it won't change your division.

hmmm ok! so i can save a ghost replay of 100 laps? just that i have right lap and split times nailed? is there any way to se split times rather than watch the whole ****ing 100 laps to find the right one:)

hmm that realy didnt answered my qestion regarding the way im presenting the final times and lap+replay in the pm! can i have a replay of letsay! 7 laps and i marked out the right lap and split times! or do i have to practise hard, then start over to nail just one lap???

Run the combo. 1, 5, 15, 50,000 laps. Then:

A) Save the replay of the particular session with your best lap
B) Save your ghost, which is the single quickest lap done in that session.

And hopefully it's clean.

so maybe start a new session every 10-15 laps or so? If you need to anyway.

Yup, thats how I do it. I normally take 4-10 laps, and if I had a good one, save it. Though I am bit OCD and generally just instantly restart if I have one mistake after a bit. But do a couple of sessions, and hold onto two replays.

One of your first good clean lap, and then when you think you have a better run, save it as a seperate ghost. Then check if its clean. Then if you think you run something better than that, save over the older, slower replay. This way you always have a "back-up" in case your new best is not clean.

And nice S2000 for that render, including the Spoon brakes (those are Spoons, right?)

That and they be missing some body parts by the time I was done with them.:mischievous:

My brother could tell you more on it. But here's what I know.

Fully Manule trany.
Air cooled.

Hello Andres.

To compete in the WRS, you'll have to run the WRS Qualifier and send the resulting splits and final laptime in a PM to Jerry/Sphinx, who is the new steward of the series. As soon as you do that, you can start racing the race which is currently running - the most current is Week 94, but it ends tomorrow so I'd recommend running the qualifier some more. My advice, as one who made that mistake, is to run the qualifier at least 3-4 hours until you get a really good lap which you're happy with, since this time, and only this time will decide what division you'll be placed in.
The races here run weekly - once a week, Sphinx, the steward, posts a new combo. We all race our butts off, and near the deadline (Tuesday), we submit our times via PMs. Results are published after the deadline, together with the new combo.
Hope you'll have fun!

Cheers,
Metar.

 to Metar! (who, did you know, missed JGTC this round's qualifier! Metar, where were you???! :P)

And Andres, hope to see you racing with us soon. You might not think you're as good as you once thought you were anymore, but maybe you will! Welcome!

Well, I've been:

  1. Battling huge amounts of schoolwork and exam-material
  2. Battling DREs (with a cure! Blowing air on the lens a couple of times solves it!)
  3. Battling weird monsters in the PS2 game 'Okami', which had (and still has) me hooked. Highly recommended. Beautiful graphics (3D 'Kalligraphy'-style environement and characters), excellent gameplay, and a nice storyline. NTSC-Only, though - PAL was supposed to come out by now, but the company closed down.

So today I sat down, ran about 20-odd hotlaps of the Xanavi HIROTO around Midfield. Will run the actual race tomorrow... I'm pretty mad at myself for missing Round 5 and the Nurb' Exhibition-week.

And I couldn't agree more with the second part.

You will like it here musclecarlover. And if your not the best driver around you
will get better. That's the cool thing about the WRS is it make's you better:).

Really? I've got a PAL demo version of it. And the Australian PAL release is still tomorrow as far as I'm aware.

That's good news... I never heard anything about the PAL release ever since I read the company broke down, so I assumed they won't release a PAL version.

Hey everyone,

i just submitted my time and got placed into Div 3. I'll hopefully be participating from Week 100 on. I've had the PAL GT4 version for quite some time but had stopped playing it until recently so i'm still only at 77%. I'm quite positive there's still a whole lot of room for improvements, i'm currently using a DS2 and AT and i'm looking forward to switching to manual. I'm also planning to get a DFP (no money for a G25 unfortunately) before the summer, i played a few days with a friends one and it was absolutely stunning.

On to some more personal info ;) My name is Jan (that may sound female to some but it's actually a common male name over here) and i'm a 23 year old student from Germany. Some of my other hobbies include poker, video gaming in general, anything related to webdesign, coding or computers, handball and movies.
In case you're wondering, i don't own a car, in fact i've never owned one at all. I do have a drivers license though and use(d) my parents cars a lot back home but where i study i'm stuck with public transport :/

Where from Germany are you from, Jan? Berlin has pretty sufficient PT, I never saw a reason to get a car there... Though, Frankfurt's is pretty crappy.

much smaller city, Marburg, you likely never heard of it so i guess you can imagine what the PT looks like ;)

Hello chaps. :)

My true name is Corey. This is me..

It's not often I'm called that anymore; the most I hear is "Honey". ;) The name Jetboy (and it's the one I prefer to get addressed by, here), while having actually nothing to do with aviation, actually, was first used whenever I got a PS1 and Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, way back in 1998. That was right about the same time I recieved GT1 for Christmas... Beat it, got GT2, took five attempts (I have a mean-spirated asshat step-father who took delight in deleting my progress) and after 5 years, finally conquered it. I found GTP online in the void between GT2 and GT3... I watched over the place for 3 years before finally becoming a member in 2004, so I was back there with all the old guys... misnblu, Rumple Foreskin, sn00pie, Jordan (duh.), Josh, Saleen Man....all of them. Because of weird difficulties with my computer, it took Kent to forward my account for it to finally work. So, that leads to below.

I used to participate in the GT3 WRS under Kent. I raced for a while, but got discouraged when I was under heat for not providing a replay. It was through the WRS I began to strive to become a much better driver who actually sought challenges. (Before, a challenge to me was considered a race where I spun out too much. Nowadays, I do much better stuff like take a barely tuned Crossfire and whup ass at the Nür 4 Hour. ) So, I paced around for a little while.. Got GT4. Almost immediately I signed up for the GT4 WRS...stupid mistake. I wasn't familiar with the car's new physics engine traits yet. So I quallified really low. :grumpy: And after facing some heat yet again I left for nearly 90 weeks before restarting on week 97. And here I am. This time, no matter what I face, I'm sticking to just racing my ass off and getting some great competition against you guys.... It's been a blast and I can't wait for that next week.

Cheers,
Jetboy

Yup, never heard of it... Which probably means there's little to no PT.

What general area is this town?

well, there's quite some PT everywhere in Germany, but of course we don't have anything like a subway ;) it's located around 90km north of Frankfurt

Hi Jan. Welcome here at the WRS. Are you a member too @ GTRP? (German GT site) Next month we have a LAN in Hättingen near Bochum, not that far away from you. Maybe you're interested in taking a look?

But first, enjoy the WRS :sly:

Actually i had no idea if i had registered at GTRP in the past so i just tried to log in and indeed i am, last visit October 2005 :ill: i even have a few posts but i can't remember at all ;)

About the LAN, well, i don't have a car so i'd have to go by train which might be too expensive for me and i also don't own a Network Adapter (old PS2). So, probably not attending it, no, but thanks for the heads-up.

We have plenty of stuff on a LAN normally, just bring what you can bring is the motto. And it's common that persons who don't have their own transport get a lift from other members. Just make sure you ask kindly and well in advance. I don't want to push you, but if you're interested you're always welcome 👍

Should have done this a while back I guess. Real name: Ron B just so we don't confuse me with Mr P eh? I'm more than likely the oldest of the rookies, hell, oldest period. ( I'm retired....old enough for you?)

You know what they say: " the difference between men and boys is the price of the toys!" Been playing/driving since the first of the Year ('07) and it helps pass the time when the arthritis acts up and it does act up to the point where walking becomes painful. Like I"ve mentioned else where, I'm slow but persistent and getting better if only by accident.:sly:

I've enjoyed the forum so far, with some exceptions. I don't handle ignorance real well and so avoid such confrontations. Truly enjoy a battle of wits but tend to take on those who are properly equiped and avoid those who have no sense of humor or "ammo!" :irked:

I look forward to racing all of you, even if from last place. Hope you all take it easy on the 'ol man eh?? :nervous:

Edit:Response to KLR142 I ask no quarter........and give none eh? Like a Div I driver has to worry about "Pokey-man" here!
