hello everyone in the WRS. thank you for your welcomes. I'm Ryan, i'm 11 and my mum is EXelero. i like Manga, drawing and my favourite car on gt4 is the Lotus Elise. I've met lots of gtp members at UKgtps so decided to join and start learning so i can take part hopefully later this year. I'm looking forward to racing in the WRS. 👍

Hi Ryan! Welcome to the WRS. It's good to see some young blood mixing in with all of us, old geezers around here :P

Have fun racing!

Wassup?

anyway, I came here from the Gamefags boards, needing to get away from the over the top rules and mods.....plus, GT4 is on top of my gaming list at this moment, with myself looking to score a cheap G25 wheel, if i can find one....

I consider myself proficient in Gt4, although nothing special....best lap ever was 5:15 at the Ring in an R8, and my most skilled lap was a 5:21.xxx in my FGT, working on sub 5:15 in that now.....nothing to laugh about, seeing as i refuse to tune my FGT to any track....causing me much frustration, believe me....

Welcome to the WRS, tupacrulez. 👍

In order to compete in the WRS you will have to run the WRS qualifier so that we can determine which division is best suited for you. 👍

You can find the WRS qualifier here:

Another good place to visit is the WRS Frequently Asked Questions thread:

We hope to see you on the track soon. 👍 👍

I can't say I'm big on the manga, but I download Naruto and Bleach anime when they come out with new episodes... :) I also enjoy Initial D stuff, but they haven't had a new episode in a long long time, and I fear it'll be a while yet before they get back to making them.

I've been playing the GT series since GT1 I decided to gett involved in the WRS because I'd like to complete with others.

As Bigracer has already stated, yes, I'm a professional race driver. However, I'm not on TV, yet, but I am able to support my duaghter via racing.

Well, that's pretty much my story, or at least as much as I'm willing to share for the moment...

Later-

Sharkie

Sweeeeeeeeeeet. That's awesome. I'd be interested in hearing what you race, if you feel like sharing... :)

Well, I race..
Pro-7 = a 1st Gen RX-7 street car converted to a race car.
GT2 = is a 3rd Gen RX-7 purpose built race car
Porsche Cup = Porsche GT3
Formula Ford = open wheel car
Racing Go-Karts = to keep my skills sharp

I'm selling the Pro-7 to put the money into the GT2.

The Gingiba is right I did receive a nice reward from one of my sponsors for doing well and bringing buisness to this shop. The go-kart sponser was so thrilled with my performance and the increase is his business as a result of my racing for him and GAVE me a `99 Corvette to drive around. The car is owned by him, but I get drive. He pays the insurance on it, and the whatever else. I ONLY pay for the fuel for the Corvette. As nice as the Corvette is, it's not a practical car, so I may not be keeping it - not to meantion anything about the workings of the sponsorship are not working well for me, so I may have to draw the sponsorship to a closed before too long. Of course, when I do the Corevette, I'm sure, well be returned...but it's a Nice Ride!!! 👍

AWESOME!!! That's great, and the fact that you want to play GT4 with us as well is awesome too. Great to have you here! 👍

Question, were you raised in racing? I wish I had been... When did you first get into racing(age)?

Well, I only recently learned (a couple of years ago) that racing is not new to my family's history. My Great Grandfather was a racecar driver. I wasn't raised in racing, in fact I was sheilded from it but whenever I would see racing on TV, I knew I wanted to do that!

I'm going to assume that your question is meant to say when did I get into legitimate racing only a few years ago. I was 32 when I started, which is why I'm not on TV. :dopey:

As for wanting to play GT4 with you nice folks here, of course I do. I realize I'm not the fastest driver here, but I'm most definately not the slowest. I've seen some of the replays of the "Green Bloods" and they are indeed fast.

Awesome. :) Hearing you started at 32 is nice to hear. Pretty cool that your great grandfather was a racer!!!

And you'll improve quickly in GT4 if you spend the time on it, but you have a real life to attend to, unlike I used to when I played the most... :) I started in division three, but am pretty strong mid-pack D1 if I get the time in.

She's been owning Class B at GTPlayground for a while ;)

Hello all.

I'll be doing the odd race or two, if I get let in, and if I'm not totally rubbish.

Used to do this a lot, way back to original GT. Did a bit of GT2 and GT3 too, but never really seriously. Well, I'm still not serious ( :) ) but I'm playing a wee bit of GT4 now, so why not. Get in training again for when GT5 comes out and I have to buy The White Album again. Er... get a PS3.

I have driven a Pyrenees Black 1994 FTO GPX for a long time now. When I bought it, my mate said 'Gran Turismo every day', and I have to say, he wasn't wrong. With 'racing exhaust and air filter', 'sports suspension' upgrades and what are probably 'sports hard' tyres, it gets me from A-to-B well enough.

My other tool isn't quite in the game. I'm restomodding a 1962 Corvette, with a 400hp fuel injected 327 with a race shop built short block. It's a boat, but it'll be a fast and pretty boat!

Hi Luke,

Just save your fastest lap and watch it in Replay Theatre.
When watching, the split times will show up.

its a '92 mini italian job edition in white. now starting to do the bodywork. should be finished at christmas i think. cant wait. think im gonna keep this original the after i have saved up some more i am going build one with a morspeed engine! and lots of fast parts. why do you ask?

I've got a classic Mini sitting in the shed here that's slowly getting worked on. It's always good to see another Mini enthusiast around the boards! 👍

Hi all. :)

My name's Ben and i'm 16 years old (in the final week of my GCSE exams! :D) I'm a big racing fan, watching F1, GP2 etc. I currently race online using NR2003 in the V8Thunder online league. The season that just finished was my first season online and I finished 7th out of about 45, so I think you can guess that I was pretty happy. :D

As for the GT series, well I have played all four games, but the two that have come out on PS2 (GT3 + GT4) I have played the most and have the most knowledge about. I am looking to participate in the WRS because it just looks like a lot of fun! :D

Cheerio!

As you can see from my sig I’ve only ever played GT4 and bought a PS2 & GT4 approx 2 months prior to signing up to GTP in 2005.
Been spending all that time learning how to drive & gathering 200 A-spec points. I’m stuck at the moment. Other than that I keep an eye on the 200 point races subforum in the GT4 section & created the GT4 race-track maps (see sig) for members to use in Race reports or anywhere else on this site. I trust I’ll enjoy ‘competing’ in WRS and who knows perhaps this will eventually help me to claim the last missing points.:)

What else
  • I have no in depth knowledge of cars
  • I don’t actively follow any (real) race series either.
  • I occasionally watch F1
  • I can’t use a DS2
  • I will not use a DS2
  • I hate the DS2
  • I suck at 900 degree DFP
  • I have to learn 900 degree as I also own a G25.
  • I need to constantly remind myself to BRAKE EARLIER!
:)

AMG.

Welcome AMG, saw your post in WRS 115. Looks like the Evo/Seattle doesn't suit you, I saw some video of you at UKGTP7 and you rocked. :D

Thanks for the maps - I remember doing track maps for GT1 for GT by the Numbers - we even named all the original circuit corners. I must see if I can find them...
