Welcome AMG, those track maps are outstanding
Jαke;2708621
wow, yes! track maps. thanks AMG đź‘Ť

Thx guys.

Looks like the Evo/Seattle doesn't suit you
The Evo was quite a nice ride actually. However I'm not the fastest of drivers and should probably be in Div 4 instead.

I saw some video of you at UKGTP7 and you rocked. :D
Where? I cant remember seeing a video of myself.... you sure you didnt mistake me for someone else :)

Thanks for the maps - I remember doing track maps for GT1 for GT by the Numbers - we even named all the original circuit corners. I must see if I can find them...
V.
Where did you get those corner names (URL.....). I've been forever looking for those but so far to no avail. :ill:
I might have to do another update round again. :)

AMG.

AMG - We made them up, for all the original circuits in Gran Turismo. They kinda stuck too, we used them as reference a lot when OLRing.

However, I don't have corner names for the real circuits. Wiki might. Wiki's got everything. :)

As for the vid, you were driving an AMG CLK GTR and there were some serious drafting battles going down. (Well, I think it was you. :D)

Hi, everybody

my name is Remco (Le Mans).
i'm playing GT4 for 1 year now and really enjoying myself. Beside this i'm racing with slotcars.
My age is 36 and according to my girlfriend she has two little children at home.
to all for you enjoy our racingtime and all races at the WRS.

Greetings Le Mans

A friend of mine is into slotcars,
He owns 40 of them :scared:

I'm new to GT4. In fact I'm new to PS2. Only had it a couple of weeks. Didn't know what I'd been missing. Great game. I was hoping to try my hand at the WRS but something is confusing me. The cars that are to be used for this weeks race (and last weeks) are not available. Are there different versions, and if so, how do I take part when the car I can choose is not the same as everyone else?

You have to win them or buy them in Gran Tourismo mode, or many will not appear in arcade mode. If you are just beginning the game and would like to have everything unlocked so you can participate every week, there are some options.

To do the WRS you need a MaxDrive, which will allow you to save replays, post them to the internet (here) via your computer, and then others can download them to THEIR Maxdrive, put it in the PS2 w/GT4, go to the Replay Theater, and check to make sure your lap is clean. If you look in the WRS Results threads for each week you'll see what I mean.

I'm telling you this because the maxdrive will also allow you to download an entire gamesave that has everything unlocked-do a search here on GTPlanet for ubersave or check the frequently asked questions/info threads. Even easier would be to borrow a more complete gamesave from a friend and just copy it to your memory card. Either way, it would allow you to participate sooner rather than later.

Hope this helps and doesn't make it more confusing.

Hi guys :)

Joined these forums a while back (when GT4 had just come out, I think!?) but never posted.. But now I see you do this WRS thing and it looks like fun

Completed GT1/2/3/4/Concept/Prologue, so plenty of experience, just like to see how I'll do compared to the people here :D

I didn't know you had to win/buy the cars to get them in arcade mode.. I swear I already have the Viper Team Oreca, but maybe not..

Anyway, howdo :)

Hi Everyone...
I am new to this forum. I just discovered it last week. Found out some really nice challenges and not to mention, drivers in the racing series. Really guys, the times you have posted for almost all the challenges are amazing! I have the ps2 and GT4 for more than an year now, but I can't imagine being anywhere close. Anyway, I love it, seems like a very nice community. I hope to be a part of this forum for some time.
I am 28, based in Texas, US. Am a Formula 1 fan, but never done any racing myself :)

Qualifier? I did not about that so not really.

I've been on the website for over a year and just kind of stumbled across this thread.
Is there a good way to get started in the online races? I've searched around a little bit, but I really haven't gotten a grasp as to how it works, or where might be an appropriate race or series for a beginner.

Jake, I followed the link to your Z-Car page. As a 240Z owner myself, I must say you do wonderful work. That's a gorgeous car. Reminds me that I must get mine out of mothballs soon, now that I'm getting back on my feet financially.

Run this first: QUALIFIER

then you can get placed in a division and run anytime you want
Okay then. I had no idea about this at all so forgive me.

The wrs is a good place to start, the link above to the quali is what you want.

Thanks for the compliment đź‘Ť It's a fun car but I don't get to drive it enough, been going back and forth about selling it.

Hey guys,

My name is Corne (racingfreak01) and I'm starting out in div2, haven't played gt4 for bout a year, then I found this site and I'm keen on getting it going again! My GT4 stats are as follows:

Game completion: 100%
A-spec points: 32,163
Licences: 80 Gold
Win %: 97.9
Trophies: 951
Prize cars: 255
Prize money: 23,791,500
No of cars: 317

I'm currently using a DFP, but am still getting use to it, not nearly as effective as I have been with a DS2!

I guess it's about time to post my introduction. Even though I'm not exactly new in the WRS, I'm quite recent.

My name is Carlos, I'm a 16-year old student living in Lisbon, Portugal.

My first game of the GT-series was GT Concept, but I didn't play it very seriously. I got GT4 when it came out but I was a terrible player. I couldn't even get bronze on some B license tests and all I could win was the sunday cup with a used mitsubishi evo. Then I joined GTPT and I started playing much better. I have already finished the game twice and now I'm a quite competitive on-line-racer.

Other than playing GT, I like to play football (soccer) and karting.

Hi everybody,
this is Roberto, writing from southern Italy. Married, no children, age 31, DS2 user, completion percentage about 60 (not much time to spend on the game),Gran Turismo freak since GT1, considering me as a rookie.

At the moment, running on the Formula GT championship.

I am waiting to receive my max drive (just bought on the web). as soon as I receive it I will attempt to the qualifying race.... hope to get a good time.

Happy to see that i am not the oldest player here :)... while playing, my wife looks at me as I am 13 yo... does this happens to the other over-30 in here too?

Favourite cars (stock):
Nissan Skyline gt-r
Lotus Exige (Elise 111R)
Chevy Corvette Stingray 350
BMW M3 GTR

See you soon!

Welcome new members. Enjoy.

Moaibob, tell your wife, recent studies show that the mental activity provided by games (driving sims as well) is good for improving a person's overall mental ability. It helps train the mind to deal with multiple objects in the visual field without becoming overwhelmed. As people age and life involves more routine and fewer new things to learn, the training provided by games may one day prove to be the best way to keep your mind sharp.

Also let her know that you are doing your part to prevent global warming-you aren't out there in a real car emitting CO2 racing around, and GT is far cheaper than racing for real!

Seriously, I think the reaction you are getting is pretty common, but will be changing over the next 10 to 15 years. Many games are not toys or really just for kids. Here in the US, video games have been around now since the 1970's, and many parents younger than 40 or so spend time with their kids via gaming. From a personal standpoint, I'm really enjoying the realism provided by the newest games after suffering through the graphics and other limitations of the early days.

Good luck with your qualifier race!

Thank you for your welcome message... and also for giving me new points of view about the gaming... not sure my wife would understand, but i'll have a try:)

Hey all great to actually finally discover some competition. I was disappointed as I am sure you all were when the online content for this game was not included. Oh well in the past now. I am 23 and from Iowa in the USA. Took me way to long to find this site for someone who has been playing gran turismo on and off since the first edition. Only competed in one week so far and still need to figure out this AR Max contraption. Like wise if you consider giving me some newbie tech help out as a welcome, I just posted up in the Max Drive thread to get some help as I am a bit clueless as to my file situation and well came up in my first week for a verification. Thanks all and hope to get to continue racing with you all in the future.

Welcome to WRS, mtbiker157! Unfortunately, I don't anything helpful about the max drives, but I am sure that someone who does know will be posting very soon. Race on!!!

Ayup folks

I'm new to the WRS - I submitted my qualifier this morning - hopefully it won't be too bad. Looking forward to attacking El Capitan in an RUF this week.

In real life I am a 25 year old civil engineer, married with a 10 month old little boy and live near the south coast of England (Dorset, to be precise).
