High School

Some girl at my school thinks shes getting a brand spankin' new 2014 Camaro SS. HA.

All this week my buddy and I have been parking our big cars (Caprice classic and Parisienne) on an angle, beside each other, taking up about two spots each. All you see in the back of the parking lot is these two classy American cars taking up about 5 spots total. Even my German teacher mention it in class the other day.

One of the richer girls in my year said that she was being bought an Audi TT the day she gets her license. In 2 years time when I see a TT wrapped around a tree I'll know who it is.

^^^^Oh my. That wouldn't be good.

Also guys I need a bit of help with my exit project. Part of it was a "Picture is worth a thousand words" kind of thing, so I chose an engine and wrote about it etc because I wanted some kind of car thing included. Only the other day, they decided to toss in a creative piece to the bundle. It was due a few days ago but I've been straining to get something and I need some help. It could be anything, a short story, poem, lyrics anything that works and doesn't sound like a cheesy 5 year old wrote it. Any help?

Don't you mean a 3.5?

No, I meant 2.7. A 3.5 has 250ish horsepower or thereabouts, and that's plenty fast. The 2.7 has somewhere in the neighborhood of 180 horsepower. Mated to a four speed automatic and lugging around 4000 lbs, it's not getting anywhere in a hurry. :dopey:

Man technology has really helped increase horsepower ratings. I was looking at new Dodge Caravans FWD for a comparison to the one I have. My 3.3L FWD Caravan new made 180hp in 1999, while the new 2013 FWD Caravan 3.8L makes just shy of 300 :scared:

Keep in mind that's the soccer moms car and it weighs less than a new Dodge Charger. Weighs in at right around 3,500lbs. I was surprised it was as ballsy as it was when you give it gas. Gets 22mpg as well, much better than the 3-6mpg my truck gets. Give that gas and you can watch the gas guage drop rather fast. Especialy as it only has a 19 gallon tank, you get about 100 miles before you have to fill her up again.

My Carbed 305 has about 150-ish HP, and my buds TBI 305 has 170. Lol. No kidding about the power increase over the years..

I'll have to show you a pic of the two. :)

Today was pretty good, had German in the morning and my spare. We did part of a poem in German class today and nobody could say it fluently XD & Then our teacher ended up showing us some rock bands he saw live back in the day like Vanilla Fudge, Spooky Tooth, etc. Did that for like 20 minutes, I really liked that lol.

My mom has the 3.8L model. But its broken down. They say the computer is messed up and other problems. She had it for 17 years(1996 model).

Yeah but those are smog era V8s IIRC from what you told me year wise. My 351 Windsor when it was stock was only making about 155hp and 310ft-lb torque with the stock Autolite 2bbl on it. Not the case anymore though. Mild built with the rest of the garbage off it really woke that thing up. Makes 310hp and 480ft-lbs now. Much less than I originally thought but still respectable nonetheless.

I've got a bit of a stall hear and there and the transmission has a light slip occasionally but it usually gets me where I need to go. She's got 184,000 on her. We used to have a 1990 Grand Caravan my grandparents (moms side) gave to us that I beleive had a 2.4L I4, then we got the '99 when that 1990 went. Then my step grandpa (dads side) gave us a 1994 Caravan SE. Don't know what was in that though, never looked.
One's an '85 the others in '92

Yup smog trash, cruddy pumps, poopy heads, restrictive intakes and exhaust. General blegh. Mines either a '75 or a '76. Can't remember. Both of the V8s were from one of those years I think. Makes me wonder though, why one in current use is painted blue and the other one black, not the grey they used.

I almost wonder if the old block (the one I told you the story of the piston skirts) was special order. It has a Windsor casting plant number in the lifter valley on it but there is no Ford logo to be found, unlike most blocks that have a Ford logo on the other end or in the middle. Nope, not here. Instead, where the Ford logo is, there is a oval like you would see from a Ford emblem that has a + symbol in it. Hmm. Never seen another block like that. Or one with 351 WCP-1 in the casting plant number. Anyways the straight 6 it originally had was a '85 as is the truck (only it was made using 1984 parts. Built in February 1985, 1985 parts were phased in in March lol. My dad told me he has to watch what he buys because certain things will not bolt up even though it's listed as a 1984/1985 model in advertisements). That engine got sold years ago.

We have well over 200k on ours ouch lol. It would be funny if dodge was trolling us with a V10 model concept. Like say if they take the new Dodge viper SRT engine and put it in a new Caravan-grand caravan.

That's ok, my truck has 665k on it lol. Then we parked it until we get around to rebuilding it again.

I mean for a van it goes. Hauls plenty around, no rust enderneath which is especially good, all new resevior and lines for the power steering, all new brake system, and it's been pretty well kept. The back hatch honestly is the biggest issue. The handle went so the only way it's held down is by a rope in the back tied to the floor. That and the front struts are bad with shock towers that are starting to go. Needs sway bar bushings, and has a leaky seal around the oil pan but other than that it's really in great shape. Most of that can be easily taken care of. If anything the struts will be the most costly.

Probably not even close. My 2009 Focus SE will outrun it around a track all day haha

Made the JV baseball team, honestly not too surprised, I've been playing for over 10 years. But I'm just glad I'm on the team and a part of it. Next step...starter.

Good luck man hope it works out for you. I used to play American football way back when. Love that game.

God Bless! Friday night football is where it's at. I walked into gym on the first day of high school only to find my teacher is the varsity football coach. And I worked out in the weight room lest year and he wanted me to play football as a lineman, but I decided not to play and he hasn't stopped bugging me about it. I am not a small person and you could see from that photo, I am about 6' 2" and am built as a lineman. I run pretty fast and am pretty strong so I could play, but decided not to. I now know how annoying this coach can be.

I'm a scrawny dude. Starting to fill out but for years I was a toothpick. Played everything. Center, linebacker, cornerback, safety defensive end, you name it. I was a pretty awesome linebacker when I played that position. I was left there one season because I was constantly getting sacks. My mom made me a deal that for every sack I made I got $100. She thought twice about that next season lol.

Ended up losing the spot at the end of the season though because I ended up getting injured in me left side. Bruised ribs, torn ligaments, and torn tendons on my rib cage made it very tough to breath so the doctor said you're done lol. The following season, or maybe 2 seasons later is when I got my nasty concussion. Ugh.

I love to play golf honestly. I thought I would hate it but it was very enjoyable.

It's hard to get really good at, but it's a great way to spend time with friends and make fun of each other when we hit bad shots

Haha I can actually pull it off rather well lol. I only do that when I'm screwing around though. Usually I play the game to actually play it.

Its awesome when you get in the zone and can do no wrong. I'm either the 1 or 2 seed on my high school's team. We miss a lot of class for matches.
