High School

For the second time ever, I'm actually excited to go to school. I can't wait to get senior year started.

First day of senior year is tomorrow. I've got good teachers, but I absolutely hate school in general. And I'm probably going to be spending the next hour finishing my summer reading crap.

I have to admit it was fun messing with a new teacher, thought I was a freshmen lol.
It might be funny now, but please don't waste our time. I have classes to teach, exams to mark, assignments to set, reports to write, programs to develop and probably half a dozen other things that I've forgotten. The last thing I need is a smart alec who thinks that it's Open Mic Night.

Eat an apple. ;)

Anyways...I had my first High School Pep Rally today, boy was the band loud!

My first two days have went pretty well. I've got good teachers and I have friends in just about every class. My last class of the day... I don't really have any friends. I know one girl, but she's more of an "acquaintance" since we almost never talk to each other, but act friendly when we do.

I have like 10+ friends I'd like to have in my classes, but none of them are. Lunch is sadly split into 3 time-slots, and I don't know anyone in there either. I guess I'll have to make some new friends. :(

So it's about two weeks and three into school for me and here's the sit rep:
English 3: I'm doing good so far.
Algebra 3: Not so good. It's literally the lowest grade I've had in math for years.
Art 2: I love it, easily my favorite period
Seminar/Pub. Speaking/Current Events: I'm actually getting enjoyments out of it. It's enjoyable to see discussions and their viewpoints happening and being part of it sometimes. Art and Seminar are the only periods I look forward to each day.

If you're wonder my last art drawing, it is this:

Well... when I was working on it. I still have it with me, so ask if you want to see the finished product.

My lunch is split like that as well! I have the "A" lunch period with a few friends (That are a little too loud for me to feel comfortable around when other people are nearby), but most of my friends are in "B" and "C". Thankfully, next semester I'll be in the "C" block and so will a bunch of my friends. But it's just so far away until then. :(

I'm glad I'm not the only one with that! (I have A lunch as well :P) We don't switch lunches, we're stuck with them for the year, it's awful. The only hope I have is next year...which is even further away. :(

I have this teacher. He's famous in this state for leading this town's math team to victory numerous times in the state championship. He's so inspiring considering how old he is. But his class is tough. He says almost nobody gets A's and F is a good grade. In the first week we memorized the perfect squares from 1 to 30 (2^2=4, 3^2=9, etc).

Your school looks awesome.

Finished my first week in school, overall its better than I expected. Have a few classes with friends and I'm enjoying most of my courses, but by far my favorite thing is the fact the I'm getting my senior privileges monday, plus a parking spot! Only class I'm really worried about is my writing 2 advanced class, the teacher I will be having is one of the toughest in the school (thankfully its next semester).

Funny stories time.
  1. Sitting at lunch with some friends and a girl walks by the table. One guy starts freaking out over the girl's bottom only to find out that the other friend sitting at the table was her brother.
  2. Same guy who freaked out over the girl's behind gets up from the seat and faceplants into a pole as soon as he turns around.
  3. The same guy from the above two stories sits back down moments after faceplanting into the pole, and nails his leg very hard off the table.

INSTA-KARMA!

Wow, those are really nice. I hope I can get to that level soon
There's one classmate in my art class that puts my efforts to shame compared to the amount of details she has. Looking at it now makes me want to do more touching up.

I teach senior subjects almost exclusively, and I can tell you right now that this is just the beginning.
This times 1,000. When I was a Senior, I had to take class required subject matter that was only offered during my Senior year. I also took two state mandated courses, and failing either one or both would have resulted in not graduating.

Hooray, it's Monday and I still haven't started. I should have started a week ago. And it looks like I won't start until October.

Does high school make anyone else hate themselves? :guilty:
I'm not hating myself. I'm just hating the fact that because of strike things or something going on, the first say of the year has been delayed. While I should have gone back last week, it's likely I won't go back for another month. Grade 11 will have to wait I guess.
