High School

I remember a few years ago using a rubber band powered Diablo model to showcase Newton's laws of force and motion.
It won by going the farthest, too.

Do the research first, and don't mention that you got the idea from GT6.
This is actually a point that I had forgot to add in to my original post about the project, but it is my plan.

I have the information on a note card and ready to go for tomorrow, but I'm going to ask the teacher if I can use a computer before pulling out the card. That way, I can have a more credible source than a video game.

I decided to change my idea for my graphical model that I mentioned yesterday. Instead of horsepower and torque numbers for the Diablo GT and Diablo GT2, I'm just doing horsepower alone for several different cars.

So not happy right now, had my car down in my brothers auto class to help him with a project. After he did his presentation he went to put his papers away. He heard a car revving and he ran out and these two kids were in my car revving it. I don't know where the teacher was but I got called down to the shop and I was livid. I just gave them the stare of death and that was enough to freak them out. Hopefully the teacher lets them know not to do that again (he knows me since I was a former student, had auto 2 last year).

What kind of car do you have, if I might ask?

Sorry about that bro :( I tried my best but they were huge

I did nothing regarding what I mentioned two pages back (think English class) but I'm kinda regretting it now. :guilty:

Also, I had a history test today, and even though I forgot about it and didn't study, I'm feeling okay about it. :indiff:

My high school has Homecoming tonight, and to be frank, I have a feeling that I'll be watching my alma mater get blown out. Oh well, at least I should be able to get in to the game for free because tonight is alumni band.

We had our homecoming pep assembly today. This year's theme was Western (cowboys, bulls, etc.) It turned out to be pretty good.

Homecoming for my school was August 28 or so. I didn't even think about the general thing at all. I didn't even really care about the football game since, to be generous, our football team isn't the greatest.

The football sucked when I was a student and only was good the year before me and a couple years after I graduated. Now, they're back to being a joke of a team that sucks game in and game out.

Here's a bit of a comparison for my school's two favorite sports and how successful they are:

Wrestling

Football

My school supports the bowling (especially women's) and softball as well. But then again, they are supported because those programs have won state championships in the past few years.

My school is really good in one season, which is the spring season. For some reason we win a lot in the spring whether it is Baseball, Softball, Track, and Lacrosse, we just seem to win until playoffs/championships. Then we lose in the playoffs or championship game.

Don't really pay attention to the sports here, but the girls' soccer team won the state championship last year, so everyone was really excited about that.

I just remembered something from today: my friend got a burger for lunch. He bit into it, and it was bright pink on the inside, an obvious sign of it being improperly cooked. He took it back up to the line, and asked for a new one. The reason he got for why the burger was pink was that "it was overcooked."

Yeah. Go ahead and give us all a food borne illness. But when you get a lawsuit slapped in your face, don't go crying to anyone else but yourselves. Idiots.

I have witnessed the same thing at my school as well! It's disgusting!

I packed lunches for that reason when I was in high school. Anyway, the high school football team decided to rout a conference rival with a 38-9 victory. But to be frank, they were 0-5 before playing us so it was clear that we should win that game. Of course, since the team sucked for years during my tenure, I thought that they'd let the rival team get their first win- that is, I thought they would until the team showed up actually decided to win at homecoming for once.

SOOO I thought I was watching this thread, but I wasn't getting any notifications...

But anyways, our school district only has two high schools (which used to be one big high school around 50-ish years ago when the population was tiny), and we share a stadium. So every year for the past many, many years, we have an absolutely massive game, where both marching bands perform together, and as per tradition, the two drumlines have a big battle at the end of the halftime show...

I'm the captain of our drumline, and I'm a bit pleased with how this came out:

...We aren't quite the tightest... Of lines... But we can make a good show...

I'm in a big predicament:
All Seniors know about the FAFSA by now; you put in your parents income and it determines how much financial aid you get. I found out that my mother's income alone will not allow me to get financial aid, even with my father being unemployed atm, unfortunately for me she want me to lie and say that I live only with my father, thus making me Pell eligible for Need-based scholarships such as Gates. I personally do not want to do this cause I have a feeling that it will bite me back in the long run and I just don't feel comfortable taking money that I don't necessarily deserve. I'm a smart kid and I know that I can get merit scholarships but she wants me to get a full ride Gates scholarship even though I don't think I can get it myself. What should I do and when should I tell her that I will not lie? The FAFSA is due in January but she also wants me to lie on college applications which are due by November.

Speaking of marching, Our season has only two weeks left. We have 4 rehearsals & 4 shows left:
  • Friday 10/10: Home Game
  • Saturday 10/11: Field Show
  • Sunday 10/12: Field Show
  • Saturday & Sunday 10/18-10/19: State Championships & Whitewater
Also, College fair this Wednesday

The school wouldn't let the band perform the halftime show this year for Homecoming, but then again, as a band member, I hated Homecoming since it was always different from a usual home game. Of course, as an alum today, I just make up stuff an pretend to play since the only time I see the Homecoming music is when I show up to play (Homecoming is also alumni band night).
