High School

My school has reasonably decent lunches, but there was this one time last year where either staff or students requested some extra variety in the options of pizza flavors; just cheese and pepperoni... But then what ended up happening was that they forced this one new flavor on a specific day...

...And that flavor was jalapeño-pineapple...

Other than that, there's generally good variety, but it's usually better to stick with the pizza or burgers as main items.

As of this week, the school is overhauling the computer system. They're swapping out the old Windows XP based system is favor of one based on Windows 7. They're also putting in new hardware. So this means all the old CRT monitors are being replaced by LCDs. Though there was alreayd a mixture of CRT and LCD monitors before, now it's gonna be all LCD.

Also, at lunch time there was a Wii at the front of the school running Just Dance 3. Students could some up and dance.

Today, I had to put up with a couple of jackwagons. In a similar situation as what happened in science class, they kept doing something that they knew full well I didn't like, even after asking them to stop. I never really got close to them, but they're more than strangers yet less than friends. Anyway, since they're not showing me any kind of respect, I'm done showing them respect. I'm done with them.

Signed a paper pledging to be drug free and got a key chain thingy today. (I was at lunch, so yes, that's crumbs :P)
<----- And my school's color is red...hence the red Mustang over there

And I got a bad cramp and a sick stomach. :grumpy: Stupid weight training first thing in the morning...

I shocked some people in my writing 1 class today. Most people were absent, so I asked my teacher if I could play my music on my laptop through the speakers and he said it was fine. They were very shocked at the variation in styles and languages spoken haha. Other than that we started are last project for this quarter, and I'm excited to see what I'll get on my assignmen. Still haven't been able to get my photgraphy project done, hopefully this week it gets clear. Almost forgot, had a field trip in auto to the Bedford auto show, my phone is dead and I'm in my tablet, will post pictures ASAP.

Oh yeah, new seats in science tomorrow. Maybe other classes too. :D :nervous:
I got a seating chart in Biology today...she literally swapped one side and threw it on the other. :P
So everyone who was on the left, is now on the right, and the ones who were on the right, are now on the left.

My teacher(s) will likely mix it up.

I've been enjoying my first month and a half of freshman year high school. It's definitely a huge step up from middle school, from not studying and acing everything to getting 70s and 80s. Luckily I have a test in all my classes before the term closes.

Watch the video first to make sense of the story...
Not sure if any of you guys watch(ed) Seinfeld but I normally got some good laughs out of it.
I recall an episode where Jerry was at a rental car desk complaining about a reservation not being reserved and told Elaine what the supervisor and desk agent talk about behind the glass.
The next week, I did the same thing except slightly changed it for the situation. A guy on the bus had been a bit upset for some reason I can't recall. He was in the back and I was in the front with a friend who had never watched a single episode of Seinfeld and I told him, "Hey Nick, watch this..."
I positioned myself where I was looking at the fraught kid in the back and Nick's back to him and I continued as so:
Me: "So I watched this episode of Seinfeld last week and saw something pretty funny. Just do what I do and this will be hilarious."
Nick: "Sure."
Me: "Okay, act like I'm talking with you about (name), and he's gonna think that I'm talking about him."
Nick: "Oh, okay."
Me: "Now, I'm gonna talk for a few seconds like so, and now I'm gonna point at him by moving my head forwards."
Me: (Nods to move head in a pointing direction)
Me: "Now I want you to turn around and stare for only 1 second, and shake your head in a yes manner as if you agree with me like I am describing him."
Nick: "Yeah, I see what you mean."
Me: "Okay, wait for it... 3... 2.. 1."
Fraught guy: "(My name), you got something you want to tell me or keep it to yourself?!?"

Me and my friend died laughing the next day after he went home and watched the video on YT, and I eventually told the guy what I was saying. I was surprised that it actually worked, as I didn't even plan it.

Here is the video if you want to watch first: (Skip to 0:55)

So I have state testing tomorrow.
Normally I wouldn't be panicking but they never said anything about it until this afternoon. The schedule usually changes for this, but they never released anything.
This will be interesting..

One of the Senior awards that my high school gave out was an award for the Senior with the best car. It was a crapshoot because it turned into a popularity contest rather than who actually had the coolest car. I know that because the 2011 class (year before me) had a guy with a Pontiac G6 win when there was a guy with a built 2nd Gen Camaro and the guy drove his camaro all the time.

I want to go that school that has auto shows!
The automotive program started going to this last year, from what talon was telling me, they had way nicer cars this year lol. The year before last they went to the New Hampshire motor speedway, I easily find this cooler.

Well apparently the seniors are having a class picture tomorrow, going to be funny when a bunch of people aren't going to be there. My art teacher lost my sketchbook and docked me 30 points, that didn't make very happy and I hope that she finds it before something happens.

When I was a Senior, we had some college prep course on the day that the Freshmen had state testing. Most of my class showed up early because the staff told my class that we'd lose the rights to leave campus for lunch if the majority of the class was gone. On that same day, we did a class picture as well, and nobody really cared about that.

...A senior from my school's class of 2014 had a Maserati...

...He's also kind of a drug dealer, though...

They said it would be easy Senior year.
They lied.
+1x10^90000000

I guess it depends though what you classes you choose, as I picked AP and advanced classes to boost something that was really worthless. In the end, AP Calculus wasn't a good idea (for me at least) so bye-bye mechanical engineering... But I don't see how I did so good in AP Physics though...

Everything I'm taking could have been taken as college credit, if not for the rules regarding full time students here.

Yeah, and looking back now, AP was a complete waste of time. I would rather had (now that I'm in college) taken the actual college classes my high school offered through some of the regional technical schools, which are accepted all over the state for credit hours.

I took five AP classes throughout high school, and I liked all of them except for Calc, but I would not have taken them again now knowing that they were all worthless, especially the AP Exams which I never received a 5 in any of them... Advanced and honors classes I had were fine, and IMO do much more help for since they are only a semester long, where you can have more classes. The more the better, but limiting yourself in high school is awful because GPA is the only thing that matters.

Applying for college was a nightmare as well. Even though I went to open house starting sophomore year, i waited too long to apply to some schools. I'm amazed UGA didn't accept me but Texas A&M at Galveston did for merchant marine... (That's not what I'm currently doing, as that costs waaaaaaay to much for out of state)

Anyways, whatever you do, don't get behind in a class... You don't want to have to flunk out of a class mid school year and reset your entire next semester to boost your GPA up again..

I graduated high school with a 2.70 GPA if I recall correctly, but I haven't looked at my transcript since I actually started attended college. I was screwed because one of my three older sisters was a salutatorian in her class, and despite a large age difference between her and I, a lot of teachers figured that I would be as intelligent as her.
