You can talk to your counselor and get them to change teachers for you. (At least here)
I have the rather unfortunate trait of a rather long surname that starts with the letter G. As a result, lots of kids want to call me "Mr. G", which is the name of an insufferable teacher from the sitcom Summer Heights High.I usually call all my teachers by what they want to be called.
I hope everything goes well/is going well for you and everyone else involved. My school has had this happen a couple times, but their "improved security" they bring in could be a lot better. So apparently there's been a rather serious shooting threat at my school Friday, for today. Knowing my school it very well could happen so I'm going to be on my highest guard. The school said that they're taking every precaution (shouldn't they be doing that anyway?) so hopefully there will be armed police rather than our regular "security".
Want to work on my mother's Altima? It won't turn over.No high school today or tomorrow, but Votech is in session both days. We had to work on an '02 Altima today at Votech, and to say the least, it was an absolute bitch.
Even if I did live in the area, I don't yet have the skills for it.Want to work on my mother's Altima? It won't turn over.
When I was a Senior, a kid got arrested for trying to start a school attack. When he was busted, the guy had already made a hit list for people who he wanted to kill. It was quite a tense week following that since the police were always there, and they had dogs present as well.So apparently there's been a rather serious shooting threat at my school Friday, for today. Knowing my school it very well could happen so I'm going to be on my highest guard. The school said that they're taking every precaution (shouldn't they be doing that anyway?) so hopefully there will be armed police rather than our regular "security".

So, basically, every day of the week is Halloween at your high school? So my school's spirit week has been changed to only 3 days, because.. How do I put this?
The girls dress like :censored:s is the short explanation.
I got into a little argument with one of my teachers about respect. She says that I do not respect her because she thinks I'm skipping her class when it is one of my favorites. I was just late once this week and once last week for one talking to my guidance counselor about college stuff and two finishing a project (that was due today) for a class that I need to pass to graduate. I explained that to her and she said that if I asked her she would have let me go. I knew she was lying because I asked twice to go to the bathroom, during the school year, and each time she said "no".
Actually, all the old programs are there, just not in the start menu, oddly. And we're stuck with Windows 7 Basic, no way to change to Windows Aero or modify the color scheme. Also, Chrome is actually still there. And apparently everyone's network storage is shown as on the same drive, not individual symbolic drives or whatever for each student. Apparently the whole network has about 7 terabytes of storage, though I can only use a few gigabytes I think. So now the hardware overhaul phase in complete, and now there are new desktops with LCD monitors (No more CRTs) running Windows 7 everywhere. Except for some reason, Google Chrome is apparently missing. And now YouTube is blocked. When the year started (3 weeks late, mind you) it wasn't blocked.
However, there are a lot of things missing at launch, it seems. Oddly, Google Chrome is 404, while the old system had it there. And now when you download things, they're automatically scanned for malware and such. That I can understand. I tried to install Chrome, but it requires admin privileges, which I of course lack. Previously, there was nothing stopping me from installing some random program. Sure, it would be gone upon reboot, but I could install it regardless. And the computer didn't call the installer for Chrome malware. Oh well. Hopefully they can iron things out soon enough, assuming they even plan to.
There's a 12 year old in my creative writing class that's 6ft tall and sounds older than meI had to give some middle schoolers a tour of the school. It was pretty sad when there were a few of them that were taller than me lol.
Holy crap o.O lolThere's a 12 year old in my creative writing class that's 6ft tall and sounds older than me
1) Generally speaking, you should schedule appointments to avoid clashes with classes. If it's unavoidable, let your teacher know in advance.I was just late once this week and once last week for one talking to my guidance counselor about college stuff and two finishing a project (that was due today) for a class that I need to pass to graduate.
Absolutely yes on both of your points. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't see the second point until after I after I graduated high school.1) Generally speaking, you should schedule appointments to avoid clashes with classes. If it's unavoidable, let your teacher know in advance.
2) Time management is key. Missing class because you were working on a project for another class is neither an excuse nor is it acceptable.
I can't wait to see their reactions in university.2) Time management is key. Missing class because you were working on a project for another class is neither an excuse nor is it acceptable.
No lessons or lectures. She told us in advance that we would be doing nothing that dayI don't know what you were doing in class when asking to go to the bathroom, but if the teacher was giving a lesson/lecture, then I can understand her reasoning. Most of my teachers are like that and I don't mind (But I never really need to go during school). Also, my teachers don't want you to leave the class if you're in the middle of a test.
I try as best as I can to schedule my time. In my schedule I have no Study Hall or any class like that I only have Lunch to work on the project and that class to work on that project. I did that everyday since last week working constantly on the project.1) Generally speaking, you should schedule appointments to avoid clashes with classes. I showed up to class but I was late. The project that I was doing was something that I could not take home and do, I can only get it done during school hours. I can't even work on it after school so the only time I can work on it is during that class or during lunch (30 minutes).Absolutely yes on both of your points. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't see the second point until after I after I graduated high school.
@iMikeTheKing as a student, you should know that not showing up for class does bring up educational ramifications in high school. These ramifications are heavily increased in the future (college/or the workforce if one goes that route). Letting an instructor know that you won't be present at least gives you a chance to know what was covered during the time that you was gone (for any reason). In college, the onus is on you to tell the instructor that you won't be there, and it's up to you to ask for the material that you missed. @prisonermonkeys would know that better than anyone since he is a high school teacher. His objective is to prepare you for both college and the real world.
Regarding the second point that prisonermonkeys made- you have to have absolute control of your time. In college, your classes will probably meet every other day. Since you will also have multiple courses, you have to know in advance what coursework is due at what time. Most colleges are nowhere near as forgiving as high school is when it comes to late work policies. Mark my words- you WILL have hours upon hours of homework in college. Only you will be responsible for whether or not your gets submitted on time.
