High School

I have nothing going on outside for me (it's so boring). Though when I'll take any offer to go outside and do something when it presents itself, like my family going somewhere or my friends wanting to do something.

Holiday's make me miss School

I've busted my arse doing homework over the long weekend - Maths, English and Film Studies all in preparation for respective SACs... Only now am I realising how serious Year 10 is. I'm especially worried about my English SAC because my practice was terrible...:scared: Which comes as a real shock to me because I was very good at English in Year 9. Surprisingly, I'm not worried about the Maths SAC because I got 93% on the last one. Which must be my highest mark EVER in ANY maths test. Weird...

Is Victoria Year 10 harder than NSW Year 10? I was able to get through Year 10 without any worries in any subject except in Modern History and that was due to a massive lack of interest.

Well at least that's what it feels like anyway

Content-wise, no. Although they operate under different state curricula, students need to be at the same or similar place for Year 11; as soon as you start introducing massive variation going into senior school, student outcomes will vary wildly from state to state, which in turn has consequences for the tertiary admissions system.

Wait, there are SAC's in Year 10? My old school only had normal tests and mid-year and end-of-year exams in Year 9 & 10.
And Year 10's not that important, Year 12 is the one that you need to really worry about.

Year 12 isn't much of an issue to worry about either IMO (if you choose the right subjects). Unless you are going for an ATAR, you just need to do the best you can. My brother completely failed his HSC but he still got a job.

It varies from state to state. The old school certificate - and equivalent in other states - was abolished when the Gillard government raised the school leaving age.
@CLowndes888 and me live in the same state, though. Could it perhaps be an individual school thing? Unless they're not technically SAC's, just 'Assessment tasks' like my school calls them for Year 11.

For me, yr. 10 and 11 were easy for me. Yr. 12 is a bit harder, but not that bad so far.

It's week 8 and I still haven't got a bus pass yet.

It turns out that my English SAC is tomorrow morning. I thought that it was going to be today, and was rushing to finish my draft so that I would have a plan of what I was going to write. Crisis averted.

Really? You have a senior exam, you're only just preparing for it 24 hours out, and you call that "crisis averted"?
Ye of little faith. I had already done the majority of the draft, I was just finalising the third body paragraph for the essay. I had already done the majority of it earlier in the week, but I had to allocate my time to revising for my Physics SAC on Wednesday. It being on Friday means that I have more time to go over it so that I can make sure that it's up to my standard. Also, it's a SAC, not an exam.

So yes, crisis averted.

Is it just my school, but do all the Yr. 11 and 12 students have to were a different colour school shirt than the rest of the school. I'm just wondering because all the seniors (Yr. 11 and 12) have to were a white shirt and yr. 7 - 10 have to were a blue shirt.

At our school, freshman wear green, Sophomores wear red, Juniors wear blue, and Seniors wear white. Blue, white and red are our school colors but I don't know what green is for, I guess they just needed a filler color.

We only have to wear these colors on special days like when we have pep rallies and stuff, even then it's optional.

I don't think my school has any sort of grade color coding. We have colored teams for what we call Mountain Madness (It's some sort of sports day thing), but the colors do not correspond to any particular grade. They're just colors.

No uniforms at my school. :sly:
We don't have uniforms either. I don't know what the dress code is (It's probably written somewhere, but I haven't really looked), but I don't remember ever hearing about any incidents of violations. I don't think any student would think of coming school wearing a shirt that has the N word on it.

So yesterday was the state archery tournament. I would've posted this last night, but we got home at around 11:30 at night. I didn't shoot that bad, getting a 215/300 possible points, and our high school team qualified for the national tournament in Louisville Kentucky. I won't be able to go to that because I have my high school music trio the same weekend as that. I had a lot of fun though, which really is all that matters :)
