High School

Just finished my Drama HSC Performance which I think went relatively well, we had to get a Year 10 to sub 1 member who was sick. Off to Japanese Speaking on Saturday :D.

I've had this issue a lot at school, the people who are serious are those who have a plan for what they want to do after school. If you don't have a plan yet then you shouldn't join them in being ultra serious, still try your hardest but you don't need to panic as much, especially since there is still more ways to get to where you want to be instead of just doing well in Year 12 if you make your mind up very late down the line.

This is of course assuming you plan to stay in school after Year 10 & 11.
I plan on staying, yes. Because of my situation, I have no choice.

So, I have a Chemistry SAC tomorrow, then a Physics SAC on Friday. Next week, I'll have a Maths SAC on Wednesday, then both an English and Physics SAC on Friday.

Year 12 will be the death of me.

I took my sisters in for freshman orientation and one of the kids thought i was a freshman when im actually a graduate :odd:
That happens to me all the time when I go to help the band out here. Then people get confused when they see me talk to the alumni helping and school staff that I run into and get even more confused because most of the band knows my twin by name but don't know me.

It could be worse, you could be in a family with 2 sets of twins like I am . Usually if my friends dont know which one is which they just call us "Twin".

It depends close you're referring to twin sets becauseironically there are two sets of twins in my family. The other set on my mom's side is twin sisters (my cousins), but they're easy to identify which one is which (I only talk to one of them because I can't stand the other). My brother and I have gotten easier to identify over the years because he's a little shorter than me and our faces have notable differences that developed over the years.

How ironic. Of course im stuck in the same house as the second set of twins since they are my sisters but thats quite cool, and apparently its even more rare to see one set of twins identicle and one fraternal in the same fanily (compared to 2 of fraternal or identical). Apparently my friends think i have a manlier voice and face than my brother (i think a bit more chisled or something).

Back to high school stuff though it was wierd going back, and although i realy dissed the school and stuff over my time being there a part of me yearns to go back 4 years and wishes to start it all again.

So I'm not only back here on GTP, but back in school as well and for the last time of my high school career. New this year, which I haven't mentioned, is the schedule. We have two "days" A and B, with each day having four 80 minute long periods. For example, day A is Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and day B is Tuesday and Thursday; it's just every other day, so one week day A will be Mon, Wed and Fri and the next week it'll be Tues and Thurs. The Votech kids are now at Votech all day long, myself included, which allows us to get more hours of education and training in, which in turn will help with our certifications.

That all may sound terrible, being in one class out of four total for 80 minutes each, but for me personally it's actually pretty nice. I'm at Votech all day, which is where I'd rather be. And for the days I'm at the high school, the new schedule makes the day seem like it's going faster. Plus my crush of a year and a half is in one of my classes, as well as at least a couple of my friends being in all my classes.

Before the year began, I set out to make this my best one yet, being that it's senior year and my previous three years have been just downright terrible. So far so good, and I'm pretty damn happy to say that. I couldn't ask for a better year. I firmly believe this'll be the year that my life as whole and not just the academic side will finally turn around and be good. And let's be honest here, if that goes south you'll probably hear about it with the way I can be [shy, nervous half smile]. As a matter of fact, literally my only problems right now are not knowing what to say to my crush and how to do it, but there's other places for that stuff.

EDIT: Didn't realize how long that ended up being. :indiff:

Today I started college. I'm not very prepared since I don't know what my course schedule is gonna look like, and the classes I signed up for sometimes conflict. But I'll iron it out. And don't expect me to use Office 365 for anything other than mail.

Good luck :)

So I got all my marks backs except for Ancient History for my HSC Trials and this is how I shape up:

English: 88%
Maths: 67% (according to the teacher, the test was originally too hard she had to take half of the questions out and replace them with new ones for our Trials so judging by that I am happy with a mark).
Drama: 43% (I'm fine with this because I already know what I did wrong and know how to do better for the actual HSC Exam)
Japanese: 22% (Honestly, this mark is actually better than my previous test (which was like 18%)

Overall, I am happy and trying to improve further on Drama and Japanese for my HSC Exam (since Maths General 1 and English Studies don't have a HSC Exam).

I also finished all my Practical HSC Exams, Drama was fantastic and while we had to sub someone who was absent, we went fine, the sub knew what she was doing too which was great :D. Japanese Speaking was fantastic for me, I thought I wouldn't get any of it and be in full panic mode but I think I actually finished fine and I am really happy about it :D.

Today hundreds of students at Lincoln High apparently are on strike here in Portland. Saying the school is too old and they feel unsafe I guess?

So a kid got lit up at Votech today. Us seniors were in the classroom learning about electronics and the other years kids were out in the shop either working with another instructor or working on their own work. One of the juniors, who happens to be a fairly bad problem student, picked up an unlabeled squirting bottle of liquid and started spraying it in his mouth. The kid he was working with snatched the bottle out of his hand and ran into classroom, basically saying that the two can't work together because of how stupid the one kid was.

The instructor that was with us seniors told the student who brought the bottle in to stay with us. Said instructor then leaves the classroom and immediately starts yelling at the kid who squirted the water in his mouth from all the way across the shop. Then the offending student tries to combat it with "I never swallowed it so it don't matter" which just made it worse. After he was done, the instructor had a student pull a table and chair outside the classroom and set up in the shop (which is right outside the classroom) for the bad student, which is where he stayed until our electronics lesson was done. He was then moved into the classroom for about a 30-45 discussion with the instructor as my group had to resume work on a dump truck from the previous day.

I mentioned the kid has a history of being a problem student. He pretty quickly built up a bad name for himself by falling asleep in class numerous times and each time getting yelled at for it. He actually went a whole five days in a row falling asleep in class. Truthfully I'm surprised he hasn't been kicked out and put in a different class yet; it's happened a handful of times before over the years.

Well I'm in a freaking pickle. If you want to try to help you can. Regardless, here's the deal:

My schools homecoming is the 24th this month. I've never gone to a school dance and it's my senior year, so this would be the first of my last few chances to do so. On top of that, I'd really like to take my crush. That'd mean so much to me and she already means a lot to me (as I said in one of my previous posts, it's been over a year so considering that, that's not surprising). Here is where it gets tough on me: the local dirt track is hosting a sprint car race on the same night, same time. This particular event hasn't been on the schedule in years, and going to this race means as much to me as going to homecoming with my crush. This is a really hard decision for me to make even if it may not seem like it to at least some.

Two key things that complicates this further, is I haven't talked to my crush at all yet. Luckily I do have a way to talk to her since she's in a class with me, unlike last year. The second this, things I think are pretty awkward between us. But I'm not sure if that's just my head telling me that or that's actually truly the case.

Right now, plan A is homecoming with my crush (it's either go with her or don't go at all) and skip the race. Plan B is to make the race rather than homecoming.

I am literally in a "oh 🤬 oh 🤬 oh 🤬" situation for me personally. Dear god.

This is my results of the trial HSC :
Music aural - 12/30 - 10/25
Music prac - 117/180 - 29.5/45
English - 80% (2nd in my class)
Maths - 34% (2nd in my class. 1st got 40%)
Agriculture - 36.5/100
TAFE - Automotive - 76%

I think I did well :)

Slightly over a week of my Senior year is done and I've been struggling to keep up with homework, especially since I missed school yesterday due to being very sick. However my grades aren't bad so far except for German IV, which I have been struggling with for the past two semesters I have taken it.

Would a 3.2-3.3 GPA be acceptable for most branch campuses of major universities/colleges? Because that's what it looks like I'm going to finish my high school career with by the time I start applying.

I'm not sure if this goes for everyone or just me, but I swear the freshmen get worse every year. Today in the hall there was a freshman girl behind me and she started pushing me because I wasn't going fast enough for her, even though I had numerous people walking the same speed ahead of me. This really pissed me off but luckily enough I was in a doorway, so I stopped, planted my feet and held on to part of the door handle. She couldn't be more than 5'2" so her initial pushing didn't really do anything. After I stopped she started pushing harder which still didn't do much and then she tried to kick me right as I started moving again. Well she missed and got my bookbag instead; all I felt was the bag flying off my back but it never left my shoulders. Then I guess she tried again further down the hall only to nail a guy she didn't see coming off the steps right in the balls as the one principal turned the corner at the perfect moment to see it happen. All I heard was the guy loudly groaning in pain and the principal screaming "Hey!" When I looked back to see what was going on, there was the girl with a "oh 🤬" look on her face. Frankly had the guy not been moving as fast as he was and tried to cut her off, he probably wouldn't have been hit; I barely saw him coming in time to do a little sidestep out of his way. But anyway today we had our second suspension of the year, which was the girl. Ol karma eh?

So yesterday we had our Running of the Halls, which is Senior Football Players and Cheerleaders running around the whole school with the band playing in front and the our school mascot (The Mustang) running behind the cheerleaders. So guess who was the Mascot? Me. It was really fun to do plus tons of the Seniors took pictures with me. I was off pace a little, the whole parade was almost gone but then I came and everyone got excited  I'm probably doing it next week at school and the football game since it's a Home Game also. But the costume is really hot. I got a free ice cold water bottle after and got to sit in an air conditioned room for a few minutes. But that was the most fun I've had for a while.
