High School

Someone in my grade that went to my school died last night. I heard it may have been a suicide but I have no confirmation. I didn't know her but it's very sad, and if it was a suicide, that makes it worse because someone always misses you.

Condolences to their family

Absolutely. Like I said, didn't know her, in fact I'd never even seen her, we have a big school. But it just makes me so sad that someone would do something so selfish, if suicide is the case. People miss her. I miss her and I didn't even know her.

This thing happened when I was in 8th grade. Some kid from the other middle school committed suicide. I didn't know him, but it felt like a part of the town was missing because of it. It's amazing what bullying can do.

It happened to me in the 7th grade. But unlike you guys, I knew the kid, as an acquaintance; I sat next to him during role call in PE. I liked him, he had a dark sense of humor and got suspended a lot, but he was a good guy. All of us 7th graders kind of looked up to him. I was absent for a day in the spring, and apparently, that was the day he took his life. Was such a shock to come back to school and hear about it over the announcements.

I've seen suicide occur right in front of my eyes and the worst part was I couldn't do anything about it.

Let's get on something a little bit less depressing shall we?

Such as?
Seriously, stop trying to be a mini-mod. :indiff:

Also, a brief rant. I've been in school for about a month and a half. I have been in my Photography class that entire time? Have I actually taken a photo yet? Nope. First there was history, meh. Then there was white balance, and shutter speed, and f/stops, and locating the buttons, and the different types of lenses, and identifying the different lenses and shutter speeds and white balances. And there was the notes, and the tests, and the worksheets, and the contracts to sign. I knew there'd be a lot to learn, but I didn't think I'd be over a month in and still not have the privilege to use a camera yet. :dunce:

Today was my last official day of school . It was a final assembly which lasted 2.5 hours. It was a little long in my opinion, considering the Year 7-10 students sitting on the floor of the hall. Maybe they didn't have to repeat a few things they did at an earlier presentation night on Wednesday. A lot of people brought silly string, streamers, party poppers etc, which I'm not a big fan of :indiff:.

I'm not sure what my feelings are at the moment. I come back to school in a month for the HSC (final exams), and the official sign-out day; along with the formal that is located in town in November, so it's not like I've left forever. Anyone else felt/feeling the same way leaving school for the final time?

Yay for the first time it's not the Asians that are the bad drivers!
Pffff....

How can you sit there for 2.5 hours?! :censored:ing hell!

Being the graduating class we weren't sitting there all the time. There was the added bonus of being on the Student Council, meaning I had extra things to do (thank god ;))

Finished early today, it's open morning tomorrow, and I have no homework. And F1 2012 should've arrived. Guess what I'm doing this afternoon. :D

Played badminton in PE today and learned that I can't serve for the life of me. I'm good at keeping a rally up though. Must be a thing about me and rallying... :sly:

My Resistant Materials teacher creeped me out again. Last week I was a little behind on my work, but only because my handwriting is tiny, so he said, "Come on, we need to get a move on." and sorta... stroked my face. Then today he showed us some work that was grade A quality, the kind of work that we should be producing, then as we were gathering around the display that had the work on he went, "Come on guys, around here. And girl." then did that wink and click thing. But I found out my target grade in Resistant Materials is a B+ or higher, which is pretty cool.

In French my teacher had a bag of those biscuits with jam in the middle (how very British :sly:) and one of the kids said, "THEY LOOK LIKE BREASTS!" and then my teacher burst out laughing! Next Friday we're having a birthday party for her... a nice way to spend last period on a Friday. :P

On the bad side I have science, maths, Spanish, English and R.E homework for next week :grumpy:
On the good/hilarious side I may have scared one of my friends by showing him a video of Rammstein performing 'Mein Teil' live, he doesn't understand rough music as he listens to Coldplay and Milk

Moral of story: bullying is bad and if you do bully someone, please jump off the nearest cliff.

I don't think this girl was bullied. I heard her boyfriend broke up with her. But I am not 100% certain.

There is one annoying thing about my school, and that is that it follows the whole paideia thing. Since it is a paideia school, we have seminars every so often, one of which was today. A seminar is where we meet with in certain class period and we discuss about a certain topic. They are ultra boring, so my parents let me skip today.

My PE Coach will really get into the game if he lets himself. Today, we were playing Team Handball, and we had an uneven number of people on both teams, so I opted to sit out. So I sat on the ground over on the sideline, the same side where he was pacing up and down the court, eagerly watching. Then all of a sudden, he walks right into me and nearly falls over. Afterwards, he regains his balance and says "Get up!". :P

I always loved playing dodge ball in PE. Competitive games are the best. Our school has an annual tournament too. :D

Yeah so do ours. Especially floor hockey, pickleball, ping pong and dodge ball.

Our school has class tournaments the last day before Christmas Break, my class is the only one that cares about it so we win without difficulty.

Does anyone else have a teacher that is most commonly known by their first name? For me it's my history teach called Keith, we call him it and he doesn't actually mind any more :)
And he's from Birmingham so it gives us hours of fun saying "Hey I'm Keith, I'm from Birmingham" in the strongest brummie accent we can do  (We're easily amused)

Today this girl got smacked by a car.... She was texting whilst crossing a road.

She deserves every bit of Accent bumper.

Got 86.1 on a math test which is good I guess, I need to get back to form though and start getting back in the 90s-95s.

And my G25 pedal inversion was going quite nicely before I got sick and had to miss a day. :grumpy:
