And probably the worst Caddy ever made. Does the Commodore have the same issues as the Catera? I see them for sale all the time around here for dirt cheap, and they still don't sell.

Grr, tried to post that last night but my computer froze.

What problems? The Commodore is a very solid, reputable and popular family car here.

Not that i like it.

Guess I should post in here. Or something.

And the night before the transmission barfed on the ground...

^^ I remember seeing pictures of transmission pieces.

Yup. You can find those over in my car thread.

Looks like there is a Y21 B16 LSD transmission on Honda tech that is the right price. Pm'd the guy and hoping for a positive result and such.

Not sure to be honest, just remember reading that they're a poorly built machine and added with the styling, they're the least liked Cadillac ever built.

Azuremen - Not bad looking. Haven't had a chance to read your thread yet, but i'll give it a read over soon. Any future plans for it, or is it pretty much going to be enjoyed the way it is?

Hey man, theres that guy who can make all those car noises with his throat/mouth, maybe you can hire him for a couple of hours!

Maybe I'll breath some life into this place with some relatively recent photos of my car. ;)

Haven't spoken to you in ages man, are you still lurking HT? Your car is looking great, the front side shot makes me think dc5 (just an observation).

Here's the latest with my car, this is after someone drove over the front of it, all repaired though :):

TM - Love the spoiler man, never seen it on a Civic around here. I agree with PB, very DC5-ish front end, but fits the overall shape of the car so it looks good. Have you tracked the car yet?

Sp33 - Ya have the paint looking good, and its looking a lot better without the crushed front quarter panel. I don't know why, but I love the color of your paint, just makes the whole car flow together. Nice Sp33 Photography logo too. 👍

I kind of killed this thread when I made the "what have you done to your car today" thread.

WAY TO GO!

:dopey:

Nah', I don't even lurk H-T any more. The direction they had us going as moderators wasn't something I wanted to be a part of. Internet Brands really took over the management staff and didn't influence them in a way I agreed with. That's okay though, because the forum had lost most of it's solid technical members along the merger and really just lost it's "Technical" feel. Now it's just "Honda-Argue", and about as mature as a sandbox full of 3 year-olds.

The car is looking pretty good, bud. You cleaned it up nicely for those photos. I'm digging the bumper pole, by the way. I picked one up for the RA1, along with a rather large box of Japanese optional parts. ;)

Yeah, the wing is not designed for the car, to be honest. It's a Mugen wing designed for the Honda Rafaga. ;) I just did some minor customization work to make it fit my EM2. The front clip is actually off of an '04-'05 Acura EL from Canada.

Although, the next project for the car I'm still collecting parts for.

toyomatt84 - looks great, though I'm not a fan of the different coloured wheels. Did a double take working out whether it was a DC5 or a Civic Coupe when I first saw the pics though, thanks to the wing and the front end. The Civic Coupes of that generation you got in the States were so much better than the ones we got in the UK.

Sp33 - The EF looks fantastic, as ever. I'd forgotten how much I liked the look of a good EF sedan. You just don't see them in the UK any more :indiff:

How's the odyssey going? Any pictures of the project thus far?

I actually saw a Rafaga today too, such an ugly POS. lol.

Well, the first Odyssey I picked up had a rather tragic death. Coming home from a friend's house at night, a deer decided that the middle lane on a highway, on a bridge... was a great grazing area. As I swerved to avoid it, she decided it was smart to follow my headlights. Pegged the deer at about 65 mph, and that was the end of my Maroon '96. :( 3 days after, I bought a purple '97 with leather interior and less mileage, so I guess I got an accidental upgrade. :) Currently, I'm dealing with the exuberant noise from the exhaust leak that seemingly ALL RA1's get from poor exhaust manifold design. I'll be picking up a temporary replacement "header" from eBay to last until I get time to work out the wiring for my K24A4 swap that's collecting dust (also so my buddy can work up enough cash to buy the F22 for his daily F2D build). But, I've got a set of '07 Accord wheels for summer, and I'm hunting for a Tein Super Wagon coilover set to top it off. I'll probably re-spray it in a year or so, when I get time away from the new house.

Actually, my '01 Civic is nearly identical to that which you got in the UK. I already stated that the front clip and rear wing are not stock to the car. A friend of mine had one of the 600 that you guys in the UK got, and with exception to minor details like the tail lights and the rear fog light... pretty much no difference. Visually, they're identical, bud.

Here's how my car looked when I bought it (no I didn't buy the wheels on it, it came with them).

Nice Ford wheels it had there :P

Ford wheels? Do you mean like the new Focus RS? We don't get them here in the States, and they're 5-lug wheels. Even the older Focus (which had a 4-lug pattern) was 4x108, not 4x100 like my car is. Sadly, the wheels that came with my car were "Sport Edition T10" wheels. :yuck:

I meant more like the SVT Focus wheels.

However now that I actually look at them I feel like an idiot

Sign me up. '92 Accord LX sedan. Not very much done yet (a couple audio upgrades, muffler, resonator delete, SRI), but extensive plans including a JDM H22A swap, MPOA 4spd auto with LSD, and Jackson Racing's supercharger kit. Currently finishing up some repairs to the front end after I rear-ended a Ford Escape.

What about engine-wise though? We only got one option, a 123bhp 1.7. Which was a bit disappointing given all the other options.

I knew that in terms of styling yours was the same (though you also got a facelift after a few years that we didn't).

We definitely got more than 600 of the things in the UK though, not sure where you got that statistic...

I thought they only came with a d17 in the states as well? I know the ES and VI only came with the 1.7 here... (we missed out on the coupe)

No idea, perhaps they're more similar than I thought then. I assumed you got the K20 in it over there, but perhaps not.

I know in Russia, that the '04-'05 front clip was available, but that (if I recall correctly) is LHD. The 600 statistic was given to me by my friend in the UK. Considering I've known him for quite a few years, I took his word to be true. Do I know for sure if that's all that you guys got? Of course not. ;)

As for the engine options, the largest engine that ever came standard in the non-hatchback 7th generation Civics (world-wide), was a 1.7L SOHC sporting VTEC (VTEC-E if you want to be terminologically-correct). The Western Asian areas were a bit more unfortunate, as D13's and D14's are more common, but that's another story. ;)

My engine is out of a 2006 Acura TSX, and sports an '03 RSX Type-S transmission. If you look closely, you can see that I had to remove the radiator support just to fit the Accord Euro-R intake. It's definitely not a "stock" car. ;) I could go into the thousands of dollars spent elsewhere, but that'd be unnecessary.
