Whoa, turbo VTEC....that would be insane. Thats an interesting setup they got going there having each compressor on either side of the engine bay, makes sense tho.

If you refering to SRV2LOW4ME's picture above thats not a turbo, its a supercharger.

I'm planning on cutting straight to turbo. Drag racing is what I want to do so meh, if I suddenly feel like doing some circuit racing then I'll simply get the right paperwork done and start turning corners 👍

Besides, plenty of times for circuit cars in the future :mischievous:

I'm also going to make an effort to get the car road legal, it shouldn't be too hard - it'll just cost me more money thats all.

Thats on a third gen prelude and yes that is the aussie spec B20A6 in there, instead of just converting it to a turbo H22a which isnt uncommon on third gens.

Yeah, thats a Vortech supercharger I believe. My friends 1999 Civic SiR (Si to the USA) has a Jackson Racing supercharger, and it pulls HARD. It has some serious internal work done on it as well, hopefully i'll have some pictures of it one day.

I haven't seen one 3rd Gen with a H22A here yet, but I could only imagine the performance the thing would have. I've seen a 1992 Civic DX with a H22 swap run 13's on the quarter mile, and thats insane enough for me.

*EDIT* I just noticed the air brushing of Spider-man on the valve cover of that Prelude, thats awesome! Not really something i'd do, but from an artistic and creative point of view, thats pretty cool. 👍

@Taurine - From your pictures, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot missing from the car to make it street legal, probably just minor things, and brakes if you need them, since you've already gone ahead and replaced the lights and stuff. With your swap and weight reduction (gutted interior plus i'm assuming) your car would be an amazing ride for the streets, and if your into "illegal" street racing (honest, who hasn't?) you'd be a serious contender. Especially with a turbo/supercharger. 👍

There's lots of little things that I'm sure they will pick up on and fail me just because they're a bunch of grumpy old failed mechanics from India :grumpy:

But yes I agree, I saw an EF Civic drive past me today with a biiiiig front mount on it and man, it looked so cool.

Well that sucks. Here in Canada, a license mechanic/shop is the one to do the inspection. My cousin has a buggy that he made from an old beetle that he stuck on the road by having the safety/certification done at his work where they work on 18 wheelers/transports. I doubt its even close to being street legal, because the last time I checked, seat belts were one of the big things that they look for.

Thats awesome about the EF btw, and I think I know what you mean by big. Theres one here with a turbo'd ZC, and the intercooler is so big that it you can see it through all 3 holes in its Mugen front bumper.

Lose the spoiler and this is the best looking 3rd Gen I have ever seen, that front shot makes it look like an NSX. It is a track car in japan.

talk laters guys hopefully ill be informed about whats goin on next time -_-`

@Mclaren_Man - Amazing looking car, real clean (minus the wing). Anyone know anything about that front lip though? Can it be bought anywhere? That lip makes it look like better then any kit i've seen for the 3rd gen yet!

@Sp33 - If your unable to find one, you could always fabricate one. Shouldn't be too hard depending on your location of the carb. My friend built his own for his 3rd gen long before they were available in Canada, and it worked great. 👍

That's a great car, with only one blemish. That wing DEFINITELY does not fit that car. It's FWD, bud, and even if you did road race, you'd only see a use for it at about 140mph and above, which would make it a useless addition. If you crave that rear spoiler so much, go with a deck surface one, much like a classic whale tail or something of that sort. Other than that, your ride is hot! 👍

EDIT: It's late, forget I even typed something. :dunce:

Mclaren_Man - Please promise me you'll never look into getting a body kit that looks like this... :yuck:

I almost puked when I saw this thing, then I saw that it was on sale, and never even questioned why.

The owner just totally ruined the nice lines of that car and that bonnet just...uggh, I dont know what to say  its got the gay spoiler aswell. I was actually thinking of removing the stock spoiler because 3rd gens look quite nice without one.

One of the guys on Prelude australia has this on a 4th gen (me not like):

I dont think that I would ever be likely to put a body kit on my car, but if I had to it would be similar to this one:

mugenkitfor3rdgen.jpg

I know it seems plain, but that is all I would want really...

That 4th Gen is nasty. Reminds me of those stupid kits they made up for NFS:Underground, and the rims are even worse. Is that even a real kit, or did he make that himself? I've never seen anything like that in person, thank god.

I like those suttle kits, reminds me of the Mugen CRX kit. Suttle, and keeps the lines of the car, but lowers the stance. I've always liked this kit for the 3rd Gen...

Might be the same kit, kinda looks like it from the back.

Kind of like the front and sides for this Mugen CRX kit, minus the ugly hood they stuck on there...

I included the back picture as well, some might not like it, but I think it fits the kit, and doesn't hurt the look of the car too much. 👍

See, the thing is, I'd never put a body kit on a car that didn't need it. And, I don't think the CRX needs one. But, if I ever did put a kit on a CRX, that would be it.

Although the kit isn't that bad, I mean, it looks like its a quality kit, but its trying to make the CRX something it isn't. Reminds me of the old Testerossa kit for the CRX that they had a few years back. Don't get me wrong, its a nice kit, it just doesn't fit the car, especially since its an FF. :indiff:

Remember that pink third gen that is in my car club? that is the kit she has, im pretty sure it is anyway.

@SP33 - the crx being a shoe, im gonna laugh now every time i see one thanks.

@toyota matt - not sure about that body kit for the "testerossa" CRX... I prefer subtle ones...

See, if I had that CRX and wanted the Vitesse Coupe so bad, I'd make the car atleast a RWD convert. If not, AWD. Drop an S2000 drivetrain in there and just show off your super-custom with more power than pounds. :D

But for the price of you to do that, and for all that trouble, why not just buy an S2000? Thats a lot of fabrication and money spent on a car thats only worth about 5 grand. Has it been done before?

I've seen V8, rear wheel drive converted CRX's before, but never understood why. Although their light weight would give them an edge, their small size would make them pretty hard to control, even on a drag strip. :scared:

Imagine the front/rear balance with a V8 in one of those, 95:5

I have yet to see a CRX that has not been modified, I reckon that a stock standard one would be worth heaps!

Around here a stock '90-'91 CRX will run you around $3000-5000, but usually has around 200,000+ KM with rust or cancer spots the size of Texas. A lightly modified will run you about the same, maybe a lil more, but usually needs a new set of tires, clutch, and whatever else years of street racing has wrecked on it. Anyone I know that has thats in anything close to being good condition has had it for almost 10 years, letting it miss out on the "look ma', i'm fast and furious!" craze.

Gee that sounds mighty pricy for such an old car... Paid $4500 for a decent Integra 97 LS after my Accord 96 got Totaled by an idiot... Definitely happier in the 'new' car though my back still hurts.... Need a paint job and some rims though (have hub caps laugh out loud!)
Some mods but nothing that effects the car (came with a non-Acura CD player and a security system that didn't seem to be original... but thats it...)

Got offered a V6 Mitsu Diamante 94 for around $3000 too... ugly Brown and I was lookin for a coupe though... Can't imagine a CRX at that price... My friend bought one and was obviously slightly modded in a bad way...cost him less than $2000 (around $1200 but not sure...)
