@Mclaren_Man - I'm with you on there. Honestly, CRX's might have a strong following, but they're nothing more then a Civic HB with a slanted hatch. From a performance stand point, I can only call them "peppy" and only quick off the line, like most small cars are. I've raced a few (2-3 atleast and all with a ZC engine swap) off the line, and after 2nd gear its like they lose all power and I just walk away from them. Thanks to the fast and furious syndrome, any that are left in anything close to good condition are beat to hell, or modified with everything in the Dollar Store catelog. I've always seen the Prelude as a sportier, better looking car, and performance wise out of the box, its hard to beat in styling, price and peformance. 👍

@animateria - I'm talking Canadian dollars, and refering to certified, safetied condition. Unfortuantly the tuner craze has driven the prices up around here, and even the rust buckets are goin for $1000-2000. Thats a pretty good price for your Integra, my friend just bought a 1998 'tegra GS for around $6000, which I thought was a lil much, but atleast its in great condition.

Jesus, $6000 for a 1998 Integra, i cant remember what the exchange rate is like for the canadian dollar against ours, but for $6000AUD you would be very lucky to pick up a '91 Integra LS with well over 200,000Km's on the clock. consider yourselves lucky over there...

Canadian dollars are pretty much exactly the same as our currency McLaren man... Lucky bastards over there.. Same with my car though, EF civ' sedans where going for low 2's in good condition, for a good condition on here your looking at mid to high 4's..

@Mclaren_Man - Woah, $6000 for a '91 Integra? I think the last time I saw an early '90s Integra sell for that much was a couple years ago. Not sure of the year and model, but it was the first year the Integra had VTEC. Great cars though, weighing next to nothing with strong power plants, i'd definitly own one. 👍

@Sp33 - Theres a car that looks just like yours down the street from me with no rust, not sure of the KM's, but I think he's only askin $2000-2500. The only problem I can see with it is the color, yucky gold. :yuck:

@DDMv2 - Just ask to have your name added to your list, and join in on the conversation I guess. Where abouts in T-Dot are ya from? I'm about 45 mins away, near Hamilton.

I wanna join:dopey: Add me to the List!
i'm located in the York area
to get a better idea of where keele and rogers area:sly:

Not a bad area, i'm pretty sure I know the area your talkin about. Atleast its not Scarborough.

So do ya own a Honda/Acura? Tell us about your ride, and post some pics if ya have any. Since your from the area, and will know what i'm talking about, are ya going to be goin to Darknights this year or any of the Import days at Cayuga?

For anyone outside of Canada, vist www.darknightsnationals.com to know what i'm talking about...

i actually dont have a car i'm 15 right now...
but my bro does. He has a 1993 honda civic Vx with Tein Super Street suspension , Sir rims , and gsr leathers. the motor is stock for now. Me and my big bro will probably be at the season opener at cayuga (june 4th i think) and we'll be at some shows this year:dopey:

Vx? Is that a HB, coupe, or sedan? Never heard of one before.

Nice, the season opener is always good. I usually try to make it down for the import days there during the summer, god bless that autocross course! 👍

Anyone here watch Pinks? The show where 2 people race for pink slips in a best of 5 competition. Today they had a guy in a 1995 Civic Si, that was supposivily pushing 600 hp against some guy with a 2001 Firebird with around 500 hp, and it was horrible. The kid driving the Civic couldn't launch his car worth a crap, and basically lost due to driver error and lack of skill. It was a pretty sad event considering the guy in the Firebird actually gave him a 20 car lead just to keep the show going. I hung my head in shame for import drivers everywhere every time the host said "your representing imports!".

The kid looked like he was going to cry at the end of the show, and deep down, I was kinda hoping he would after a show like that. :grumpy:

Taurine
He bought the car off the T/A dude and then sold it off on ebay, obviously too many bad memories :D

The guy that went up against the guy in the white fox body Mustang?
So he bought it off him, "lost 3rd gear" but won a Civic and then sold the Firebird on EBay? Theres a story to tell the grand kinds! 👍

No no no, apprently the Civic guy bought the Civic back off the Firebird guy then on sold it.

I only wish we got programs like that here :(

I think I said earlier in the thread that I was originally going to get one of them but they were too rare. The model I'm talking about is the 91 LS model (maybe a GS over in Canada) and was the last one without VTEC. Still put out around 105Kw (140 or so bhp).

I really love the Honda Civic EK Type R and I'd really like to have one.

Do you guys know how much is it in the market right now?

And when I scout around, what should I look out for?

Thanks!

.... Need a paint job and some rims though (have hub caps laugh out loud!) QUOTE]

...is there.. something wrong with hubcaps? ;)

@Taurine - Thats even worse! How could he buy it back? If anything, i'd build a better one, learn to drive, and come back to whoop him a new one, or atleast race the guy for the car back. :sly:

@Mclaren_Man - Those are actually pretty common here. You don't see alot of them modified LS models, in fact I think I only know of 3 in the city, but they're around. In my opinion you got a far better car, I just wish the aftermarket support for your style of Prelude was as strong as it was for the Integra. Did you guys ever get the EK Civic Type R there?

@Sarked - Where abouts do you live? Unless it was released in your country or general world area, you may out of luck. Unless you want to try to import one, which in most cases will lead to huge fee's (shipping, tax, etc.), and too much of a hassle.

@Sp33 - The only problem with hubcaps is sometimes they'll break free and try to race you down the road. I think most Honda's have the one bolt that holds them on, but its still a funny site to see someone racing their hubcab down the highway.

Its on Honda civic HB Vx with a Single Cam 80hp of fury:crazy:
The good thing about the car is it weighs less than a Honda Crx Si
it weighs 2094lbs last time i checked.

My civic needs a clutch

It was slipping, I went to adjust it, and it did adjust but now it's at the end of it's play :(

But look at the genuine honda prices!

I need to go by AutoZone and see what they charge, thing is last two times I went there they gave me the wrong part and it was a huge headache...

Does anyone know a good (ie cheap) aftermaket flywheel clutch combo for my engine D16A (?, well it's a SOHC 1.5 L dual port PGM-FI in a 90 hatch)

Edit: in case I was not clear, I am looking for cheapo parts, if I can't find them, I'm just going to replace the clutch only even though the old flywheel will eat it up fast...

Yeah, i found they where bolted on the hard way. Ive never seen bolt on hubcaps before, so it took me a whole lotta bending and flexing and breaking before i realised:grumpy: lol im such a foo'

anyway all good now, and atleast i know if i drag muh hubcaps ive also lost a wheel hehe 👍

Got some new bling for the EF:

Skunk2 Stage 1 intake manifold (Type R replica basically). Was on special for a few days only and thought why not, it's cheap. People have gained 6wkw from it in the past, some haven't gained much but it might help me later on..

While installing it I broke a fitting on the PCV system so decided to bin the whole PCV system and run a catch tank. The bracket and PCV tank weighed in at 1.5kg and any weight reduction is good! :D

How much did you pay for the intake manifold? And is that a B16a? im lookin at an engine change.. what was the hardest thing? how much did your engine cost? you can PM me if you like, or add me to msn if you use that, coz i have heapsa questions lol

thx

@skip0110 - Ebay can be your best friend in situations like that. Try there, but most items that you'll find there will only be on par with your stock equipment no matter what the ad might claim. If that doesn't help, drop by your local transmission shop, or even local garage, and they should be able to get you a cheaper brand for your car. Hope that helps, good luck. 👍

@Taurine - Nice intake, along with the valve cover it really dresses the engine bay up. Where'd ya get it and for how much? Self install? Give us some more details.

Cool, thanks SRV2LOW4ME, I'll go to some local shops and see if they can hook me up. I have a thing with eBay though, I don't buy stuff off there.

@skip0110 - If you know what your looking for, you can try scrapyards/auto wreckers as well, just make sure what you grab is in good enough condition to install. I know what your saying about Ebay, personally I wouldn't buy anything more then cosmetic accessories, and light peformance parts - intake, exhaust, etc, but no internals or body kits.

I think you'll find that anything that goes through a Honda dealership is priced too high, but sometimes thats the only place you can find the item that your looking for, but atleast you will have the knowledge that it'll fit perfectly most of the time. I had an incident with a bumper plug and screw, but I have to add that I was high at the time, and its a story I rather not get into.

[@Taurine - Nice intake, along with the valve cover it really dresses the engine bay up. Where'd ya get it and for how much? Self install? Give us some more details.

The manifold requires a B18C fuel rail and regulator (since it's actually designed for the B18) so with that, a new intake gasket and the manifold it came to $450NZD all up.

I installed it myself but like I said before I managed to break the PCV valve so decided to ditch it and needed to plug the hole left in the block. So I went into work yesterday and machined up a bung and some spacers for my fuel rail (it didn't quite fit..) and hammered it in there doused with loctite :D:tup: that puppy should never come loose.

So bolted everything in, connected everything up, fixed the fuel leak from a loose fitting and fired her up ... and it started surging between 1400 and 1600rpm :(

Then I realised that I didnt buy another throttle body gasket :dunce: My TB actually looks like rubbish now that its bolted to something nice and clean so I'm going to clean it up, waterblast then hopefully with a new gasket it'll run sweet as 👍

@Sp33 - No, but it sure screwed me pretty good for a while.

@Taurine - Thats awesome! The cheapest I can find a skunk2 intake manifold around here is around $390 CAN. I love hearing self install stories, some of the stuff you hear makes you question the sanity of the person (not you, but in general) but in the end, if it all goes together and works well, then props to the guy doin the work. 👍

Definantly, considering im usually the person sitting back never doing anything but always criticising (sp?) the sanity of people doin' stuf to their car. Usually im just too worried im going to stuff something up.. I reckon when its no longer my daily driver, ill be able to play around with it more without the worry of not being able to get to work the next day hehe 👍
