annnnd I got disconnected...

It's ok, I had already missed a big braking point going into a chicane earlier on and was fighting to get back up to the main pack but was 15 seconds behind.

Wish I could've stayed it through but I'll still keep watching the race since I'm really interested in seeing how everyone's pit strategies work out.

Disconnected from PSN. I was already going to finish last, my mom just had to ask for some yogurt and couldn't get out of bed. LAZY!!!

Got disconnected too. Was getting hungry so fired up some leftover pasta and since can't join the room to watch the rest of the race, I'll just watch the replay of Rolex 6 hours at the Glen.

I was going for a two pit strategy but don't think would of done any good because I wouldn't catch up those that passed me when I was in the pits. Dsg and Mech would of probably came out in front of me at the end.

Congrats to brandofo for winning our biggest race of the year!

Also, I need someone to send me the replay please.

That sucks man. You are usually the one with the best connection. I wonder why we had so many disconnects today.

My pit strategy turned out terribly. I came in with the pack on lap 8, and my car wouldn't leave. It kept acting like it was going to go, but then it would pause ... cycle repeat

By the time I got out of the pits I had lost the whole pack. Decided not to try the pits again. My final laps were quite slow with no tread left on the tires.

Congrats to those of you who were able to find their way in the darkness. Never could seem to concentrate well enough in the daylight let alone the darkness. My mind would wander during the straights, and then I would forget what turn was next. Anyone else?

Congrats on the podium - Brandofo, Wii, and Nastradamus. Solid 4th place Mule. Good work. Super close finish for the win, with a .1 victory after over an hour and a half of racing. Good job Brandofo (sorry for the early race tap). Sorry I couldn't help you more Nastra, my tires were pretty done at that point.

Ya red, I dazzed of as well, that why I was messing up so often when it was me you and Johny. Sorry for bumping you at the first chicane on the straight, I didnt realise the turn was so soon. Also thank you to Johny for being an overall cool guy. He saw that I spun out and instead of continuing onward with Reevos, he slowed down to let me catch his draft so we could both catch reevos again, but I kept messing up and wasnt able to keep up so sorry to you 2 for slowing you guys down so much!

I'll post a more comprehensive recap tomorrow, but for now I will say that while I'm not upset about the final results I am disappointed I fell behind Wii and Brando. I fell behind them because me and my draft buddy (Mule) pitted one lap after them, but I lost Mule coming out of the pits. Then I was JUST out of draft range on them and the only draft buddy I found after that was Red but, as he shared, his tires were pooched. I spent the last 5 or 6 laps watching Wii and Brando slowly pull away into the horizon as they bump drafted.

I can't complain too much though. No one punted me off the track once and it was very close racing for most of the laps.

Well, here's my race report:

Had a decent start, wanted to be a bit cautious, but at the same time, trying to jokey for position and latch on to nastra's rear bumper, as per our plan. BlackIce and Wardez were both seemingly trying to get to where I was wanting to go, though, but after the first chicane down Mulsanne, I was there. The top 7 (Me, nastra, brandofo, Blackice, Wardez, Wiifreak, Aliens, later Reevos) all traded spots in the forst few laps of the race. Towards the end of the first stint, though, we all started to get strung out, and me and nastra were working together quite well. On lap 7, all the leaders except for me and nastra dove into the pits, as per the plan. Wiifreak decided to join us as well. I was able to pull ahead of them both on lap 8, which gave me a clear pitlane, for a quick stop.

2nd stint, I was well ahead of both Nastra and Wiifreak, but Brandofo was ahead of me. Luckily, he messed up a chicane, and I caught him, and worked with him. I led my very first lap in a GTP race during this time, truly a momentous occasion for me. However, shortly after that, I messed up a chicane myself, straight-lined it, and got damage trying to weave between the tires walls. I lost brandofo, and eventually, I was caught by nastra and Wiifreak. Most people pit on lap 14, except me and nastra, who planned to pit on lap 15. I tried to give him a second so we both had quick stops, but it backfired.

I got in 6th, behind Brando, Wiifreak, Nastra, and the pair of 1-stoppers Reevos and Johny. I lost the draft, so most of this stint was pretty lonely. I caught Johny, but he had no tires left, so I couldn't work with him at all. I then caught Reevos, and we were able to work together a bit, but he also had no tires, so once we got to the Porsche curves, I had left him in the dust.

4th place is the highest I've ever finished in any GTPlanet race, so I'm very pleased with that, however, I'm a bit disappointed, as My plan with Nastra was working perfectly, and I had a small opportunity to actually win this, but didn't.

Further congrats to brandofo for his first win in the series, and a special thank you to everyone who came out and made this race possible.

As always, if there are any incidents, please PM me, as (thanks to brandofo) I have a replay now. I'll also find out the fastest lap, and update the points table tonight.

EDIT: Wiifreak gets fastest lap bonus with an insane 4:18.107. 3 1/1000ths quicker than brandofo, who had a 4:18.110.

I hope I can still make up for my bad performance in the next 2 races. I didnt practice too much for this race, next 2 weeks will be different. I had a good start in the season, dont wanna mess it up. I wanna get a podium finish at least when the season is over. I'll be starting my BMW Z4 series soon, smaller cars, with just a bit less power then these Integras. It will be spec racing like the Miata series. Stock Transmission and fixed ride height suspension. Should be a very close series.

It's still only 9 points that separates the top 5 guys now. Aliens and myself aren't out yet, but we basically need all of the top guys to disconnect, and then win.

great race yesterday. the replay is fun to watch with all those integras racing down the mulsanne.

i was looking ahead to next week at deep forest. what do you think about the concrete area?

I'd like to know about this as well. That piece of concrete is always an issue whenever there is a race held at Deep Forest.

I've never had a problem using it, so unless there's an outcry otherwise, I'll just go the Cappuccino route, and deem it "too hard to police," and use it.

Got down to a 1:19.036.

Being consistant is going to be very hard here.

Also, grip will be at a premium. The cra wants to slide around everywhere.

Okay, so with this series ending in less than 2 weeks, now, I think it's time to hammer down the details of whatever we're going to do next. I already have some general ideas, but I'd like to see your guys' input. Perhaps I can also make a new thread, in order to keep this one focused on what it's for.

But anyway, I know I said I like the NSX RM, i'm still not sure about having two Honda series' in a row. I know Wardez mentioned about how he'd like to see an RM Corvette series, which is definitely an option (I have a fully-modified ZR1, and a "stock" Z06), but another car that I've been digging recently is the Elise RM. Right now, I haven't done anything to it other than an oil change, but man is it an exciting car to drive. Amazing balance, very quick and nimble in pretty much every type of corner.

Regardless of what we use, we'll have to figure out a Formula for it (it'll be another spec series). I have one for the NSX.

As I said before, I want to expand the championship to 8 or so races, with the option to remove one race from your points total, in case of a disconnect, or inability to make the race. I want to keep La Sarthe as our "big race" of the series, possibly expanding it to a 2-hour race. With how Saturday's race went, I think that would go well. I also want to possibly keep Daytona, but I'm not too sure, considering Turn 1, and the draft on the banking. All the other tracks can be replaced.

Monza/Grand Valley/A Nurburgring track/Indy road course/Rome/High Speed Ring/Daytona/La Sarthe is what I'm thinking of (not in that order).

We'll keep the same qualifying method, but I really don't like the whole "Qualify, then race right after" deal we have right now. I'd sooner qualify on Friday/Saturday, and have the race on Sunday. 4:30 Eastern is still a good time that people from Noth America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand can all make.

So yeah, give me some input, and I'll come up with something that I can make a separate thread with.

Random observation: having had this mini-enduro just yesterday makes watching 'Le Mans' movie about twice as good as usual :)

I was actually hoping you could co-host my Z4 series mule because my new job has unpredictable shifts so I would need someone to take care of things when I'm gone, interested?

Dude I think it would be perfect if it was moved to Sunday.

But you should still note that Australians/Eastern-hemisphere folk are a day ahead. So a 4:30 race for us would b e quite early Monday morning.

Nothing would make me happier than an NSX series, but since I'm gone for all of August I would personally like it if another car was chosen. That's just me being selfish though. :D

If the NSX is not chosen my vote is for the Elise. The tracks I'd like to see are Laguna Seca, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Deep Forest, and whatever else you decide to through in. I personally like Saturday.

Yeah, I was thinking to myself that it would be around 7-8:30 in the morning for them, but it totally slipped my mind about the day.

I was actually hoping you could co-host my Z4 series mule because my new job has unpredictable shifts so I would need someone to take care of things when I'm gone, interested?

I'm not entirely sure. I'm already committed to 5 different series' at the moment, and may have to drop off one, depending on when the races are. If I can, then I'll get back to you.

Random observation: having had this mini-enduro just yesterday makes watching 'Le Mans' movie about twice as good as usual :)

I need to watch that sometime ;x

I eventually want to do all three sometime.

Driving around in the Elise, it absolutely eats Suzuka for breakfast, with just 235hp

EDIT: Now I'm playing with the Z06 RM Corvette at Suzuka. I have to say, I'm liking the Elise a lot more.

Yeah, I'm pretty much decided on the Elise now. I just need to get a firmer grasp on what tracks we/I want, and I think I can make a thread for it.

Anyway, I've been having some problems with connecting to lobbies today (read: I drop within a minute of joining/creating a room, even if I clear my cache). I'm in my lobby right now, with nobody else in it, so if any of you could hop in and just mess around, and test my connection, that'd be great.
