Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo: Unveiled

Exciting! Definitely looked like in-game footage of rain at the start.

I've said it for a while now, but GT Sport (in it's current guise) is just a platform for future updates. I really wouldn't be surprised if enhanced features like weather and other racing modes get released later. Its a superb platform to build on top of.

Even though SMS did in pCARS2. Maybe PD has seen that it can be a reality.

Pcars has things that GTS do not.GTS has other that Pcars do not (better graphics for example).
They cannot put everything in the same title. So both studio's decided what to feature and what not to.
GTS went for graphics,Pcars went for dynamic/weather-time-track.

Technically it's possible ;)

Yes it is.But you need to "sacrifice" something else in order for that.

Rain is going to come -in specific tracks with lower resolution if I got it right- at some time.
Other racing modes? What kind?"Drag" racing you mean -example-?
And before they start building up this "superb" plarform they should fix major problems first (BoP/rating system/penalty system) that are core mechanics in a e-sport racing title.Otherwise, whatever they add will make zero difference.

Exactly. I was just quoting a well-known Kaz-ism :)

And it will be rubbish.

I recall there was a lot of chatter when the first glimpse of the car was shown in that Honda plant pic, now people are crying "another VGT" crap?

Aren't some VGTs could make it into production (Toyota and Nissan i believe) ?

Is the Beatle and other VW in Gr.4 Virtual cars? Because they look so ugly and not real to me. They dont have a extra category. Or maybe they were produced once because it is only a VW Golf with new Design? What allows theme to be in Gr.4. Also the Citroen is such a strange car i dont like.

Actually the Scirocco is pretty much the Scirocco R Cup from the competition with the same name.

There was also a Beetle Cup but not even close to Beetle Gr.3 on the game.

But one thing is not having a real life racing version of a real car, other thing is a complete fictional car.
If you want to be purist, the GT-R Gr.4 shouldn't be on the game but the 370Z GT4...

It predates the Chiron.

.
Does it? Or did they just show it to the public before the Chiron?

Anyway, these visions are uninteresting to me as they look nothing more like unofficial renders of concepts you see jotted around online. They look like the job was assigned to the tea boy rather than a genuine concept from to show off the brand's ideas. The BMW Vision looks the best to me as it looks legit, most of the others just look like the companies wanted to get their brand some more exposure and didn't care who designed the concept nor what it looked like.

In short: Vision GT cars are extremely lame in what is apparently a more "focused" game and a game focused on exports, with a limited car list already.

Getting back to the car itself, since it has specs very similar to the Lotus Elise, do you guys think it's a move from Honda to compete with the Exige & Elise? Those great Lotus cars run a great Honda engine. It must be time for Honda to compete with the specs of those great Lotus corner burners.. & there are no Lotus cars in GTS? I need someone to confirm this...since I'm not home much, I've only played the game 4 days worth, but much fun each time!

Up until now there is no Lotus in the game.
Anyway,Lotus seems to go for SUV and hybrid "city" cars at this point so I cannot see any competition between H and L in terms of sport-ish cars.

Honda don't have a chance if they want to compete with Lotus.

Thanks, Jules for confirming this... So not even the electric Evora got a nod for the game.. Seeing a behind the scenes stategy of Honda's relationship with Polyphony is akin to their great pairing with Nissan. Of course we'll let the front wheel drive hybrid LMP go because it needs much more research & development for the great 24hr LeMans race!

If you are talking about the Nissan LMP there is no development or research. The project is dead and car is retired (since late 2015).

Why do you say that?
Honda is a bigger company with more sales and also does not problems like Lotus did these past few years.

Honda is not the company it once was in the 90's and are now facing a lot of
competition and going after Lotus customers is probably not going to help them.
