I think there should be a horse mode.

Before you press the "back" button, hear me out.

Like cars, horses are a popular mode of transport.
However, I don't think there is a game in the market for customised horse racing. I think there should be a mode in GT5 where you can race horses around the circuits.
PD could use this to appeal to me and the millions of horse lovers around the world. This could even create a whole new market of gamers, who have bought a console solely for the horses.

I absolutely love horses, and this would add a lot of variety to the game.

Edit: Forgot to specify that it would be a bad idea to race cars and in the same race, so I think horse mode should be wholly separate from the car bit.
Instead of changing oil you could buy more hay.

Edit: And you could race horses around the circuits that the cars race on.

I think it would be good if you had to unlock this mode too.

It's the real driving simulator. This is a very powerfull arguement. It can (and should) be used to justify including a lot of things; 15 hp three wheel trucks, 7 liter pushrod roundy-round spec cars, 1 hp steam wagons, firetrucks, custom made lowriders, egg shaped fuel mileage competition cars, rocket shaped land speed record holders, 8000 hp drag cars, motorcycles, and so many other things.
One thing the enduring subtitle of the Gran Turismo series cannot be used to justify, though, is horses. You do not drive horses. Maybe there should be a game where you ride horses around various virtual race tracks, but it isn't GT.
As much as everyone seems to be mocking you with their other suggestions, really, they're equally plausable. Walking has just as little to do with the present content of GT as horses do. Bicycles even have more right to be in GT then horses, they have wheels.

You could do that in the last Ridge Racer, couldn't you? (The one where they stopped calling it Ridge Racer. It was RRS or something). If you stuck on someones tail long enough they'd get 'psyched out' and mess up. Of course it was completely pointless, because if you were able to stick to someone that consistantly you could easily pass them long before the meter filled up.
Besides that, the AI in GT4 already drives a lot of people crazy.

Or were you deriding the possible inclusion of all that stuff I listed? I was serious, I'd really like to see all those vehicles in GT5. No horses though.

Wait a sec! Lets go all out and have sprint races where you can purchase yourself a decent paid of Nike's or Adidas' and to a 5km run. Instead of changing oil or buying hay, you could buy powerade or whatever.........

On one end, you're right. Before any car, there were horses. There were even horse-drawn carriages. On another end, I'm not going to enter a horse in the Gran Turismo World Championship with a 200,000 A-Spec point race, not even a horse-drawn carriage. When I first seen this thread, I thought it was going to be about bumping up horsepower to unfathomable levels, but it's about horses. I rarely tilt back on the Analog Stick, so I don't want to come up with any tilting back of any sort.

I wouldn't race a horse in a Gran Turismo game. Even for a Texan like myself, I wouldn't want to ride a wild horse or bull around a race track. I'd rather ride some serious HP (Camaros, Mustangs, and LMPs), and some not-so-serious HP (Mini Cooper, Midgets, and such). I ride horsePOWER, not horses in GT. You dig a brother?

As a small fact, in the game "Daytona USA," you have the chance to unlock a horse to race with, at least from my PC gaming experience of Daytona USA.
