Hosts, how are you dealing the 2.10 update?

tyre restrictions would work for higher pp but when i do low pp races and force sports tyres. my car becomes unresponsiv even FF and 4WD

Cars don't become unresponsive they just become less responsive than on RS tires. So much less so that most guys used to RS tires would probably struggle to complete a lap on Sports Tires in many of their favourite 500+ PP cars. The great equalizer is probably reducing tire compounds as PD probably based their PP equivalencies on CS and SH tires, the standard tires of most cars in the game.

That would imply that PD have no flipping clue that 9 out of every 10 public lobbies have no tire restrictions in place. I can totally see that being the case with PD, it's hilarious.

Or, maybe they actually do know about the overused Racing Softs (:scared: ), and this is their way of encouraging people to use Sports and Comfort tires.

I don't use RS i use RM.
My cars when there on sports are so annoying to turn i have to press the D pad very hard.
As for comfort they do what there ment to do slip and slide and try to balance the car at corners. :)

I race in 500-550pp rooms with sports tire restrictions... it's pretty much ruined those as well. Not just because certain FR cars are too good, but also because too many people are using them and causing havoc on the track. You can be bouncing off the walls in a Supra and still catch up.

Even amongst FR cars there's huge imbalance. Supras, Mustangs, Challenger got a massive downgrade, the Vette '00 got a big downgrade, S2000s and RX8s got minor downgrades, the Camaro '10 is the same... it's a big mess.

Well I have to correct myself. I follow the Nurb PP Board in the Tuning Forum and the previous standard times at 450/500/550PP all on street tires, are falling like dominos. Some cars are nearly 15 seconds faster at the Nurb than the old standard time and 25+ seconds faster than their old time on the same tires.

So using street tires isn't the answer either. I'm afraid it's just broken:tdown:👎

But are you using a stage 3 turbo?

Maybe our only option is BHP and WEIGHT limits, I can't see any other way except banning FR cars.
Look at my leagues OP it has the answer.

Well that sucks.

We could all use FRs until PD notices a trend.

Stage 4 actually...but first I weight reduce then add racing exhaust, then take it off again, add a racing filter, take it off and put on a sports filter, then do an engine upgrade...on Tuesdays only..:sly:

My guess would be the best way to handle it is vary the drivetrains allowed from open to FR not allowed. You could use a weight/HP limit but i find it cumbersome.

BHP and weight is the only way to allow all drivetrain without FR cars owning the others.

Yeah, tires are just a band-aid until the guy running the harder tires realizes where the limits are, 100 extra hp is still a 100 extra hp. PD just over-did the "improvements". I think they were aimed at the right cars, but the Super GT Supras and FR Street cars just got more than they really needed. But honestly, I think most of the FR's that were adjusted needed a substantial performance boost but 100+ hp is a little crazy.

What we really need is a Power-to-weight ratio setting in the rooms. That is the equalizer. A short range 2.0-2.2 kg per hp would make for a very competitive field.

Right now you have 550 PP room and you think it would be a level playing field. But bring in a Loctite NSX and you got 3.16Kg per Hp and a guy comes in with a Carl Edwards Ford and he has 2.11Kg per Hp. The NASCAR will stomp the bejesus out of the GT500. Handling aside, the big Ford will more than make up for it and eat the NSX for lunch on any straight or long sweeper.

This means PP doesn't mean squat any more!

There is no single equalizer, just like there is no perfect solution for every track. Cars with identical power-to-weight will not necessarily handle the same, or have the same downforce, or wear the tires the same, or burn fuel the same...

But having power-to-weight would surely be a helpful addition, especially if we could set any mixture of PP, HP, weight, HP-to-weight, torque, car class, mods, setups, limiter, ballast...
