^I'd love to get one of those and just slam it.

That would so rival against the GNX. Badass look and perfect looking Monte Carlo.

Also, have an impala, gonna take the risk, but I don't think this would be a donk.

The wheel choice is not bad but, if the tires were bigger and the rims slightly smaller, I would daily that impala. Not to mention, look at that color, My God. Heck, I'd already drive it.

And also, this one. This looks better somewhat, so good.

Oh God...Oh Jeez...a custom '58 Bonneville, I'm so in heaven.

I'd struggle to call that a lowrider. Change the Daytons to 15-inch red steelies with Moon discs and white-lines and tell me what you see. There is no other influence of lowrider culture on the car, not even a club plaque in the rear seat.

If that is the car that I think it is, that car is all wheel drive and has a turbo Volvo inline 5 cylinder engine.

Could it be one of those Swedish hot rods I read about in "1001 Cars you must drive before you die"? I saw a few of those cars (apparently made by the same person), created from Volvo bits such as the 4WD and the engines and so on.

I really think that it is this car. In a lot of places, the most common engine is the one that everyone has access to in their area. My guess is that the Volvos must be really common there (which makes sense since he lives in Sweden).

That does make sense, the lines do look similar to the ones on the photo. And that bit about the drivetrain also makes sense, it must be easier to find Volvo engines and drivetrains than a Ford V8.

The ones I was thinking about are these:

These are the Carestos: They're are also Swedish hot rods, made with Volvo bits. You can even get one with a Volvo V8!

Now, I found jsut now a good looking 71' Riviera @Cano, ofcourse if you ignore those shoes...

I will be frankly with you, the wheels are okay, but not really my cup of tea, but far from questionable but seriously though, look that color...I never thought this would be a great color for a Riviera.

If teh wheels would have been the wire type, this would be an automatic favourite.

However, this is something more like it.

All was well and good until the lowrider Dayton wheels. If that car had some real wheels under the fenders, it would be awesome.

I like the silver one. Sadly, I think it's one case of "wheels-bags-done" with no mechanical enhacements to go with the modern look.

Double post because ladies and gentlemen, the 2015 America's Most Beautiful Roadster winner, by none other than Bobby Alloway. This thing is absolutely, impossibly, hot roddishly mind-blowing. Big stinkin' pics because it deserves it. Just look at it. The stance omg, I can't get over this car's stance.

Still overdone IMO. I do like how it sits however.

I think my dad's 55 was entered at the GNRS this weekend. I'll try and find a pic.

Of course it's overdone, it's been done enough that it's become a cultural icon instead of a paint job.

Also, I don't recall seing your dad's car in any of the galleries I've seen of the event and, you know, it's kinda hard to pass it up  do hope it was there, pics!
